Directv in Shallotte, North Carolina - Direct tv is way too 'fine printed'
I have until recently been with DirectTV for over 8 years. A few months ago one of my receivers went 'out' and I went to Best Buy to purchase another one. Thankfully a very young sales rep. informed me that even though I am purchasing a new receiver, I don't OWN it, I am only purchasing it at a discounted rate and that when I call DirectTV to activate the new card I will be re-committing myself to a new 24 month contract,(think cell phone services). Well, luckily my parents had kept their old receiver so I switched out with them, however with all the new promotions and such from DirectTV, I called their customer rentention department and asked 'hey, you are offering new customers the same package I am paying 52.99 for only 29.99, if they sign up for a 24 month auto-pay commitment...can I have that'...they repeatedly said it's for new customers only. While I went on to tell them that I have been with them for 8 years, so, I am happy, that for continued 24 months of more happiness they need to give me the new offering plan or bye bye..guess what, they offered me a $10.00 discount, now keep in mind, these are receivers that are 8 years old, so I am being charged 52.99 plus 5 more for the extra receiver, that's 57.99 plus local channels, 5 bucks more, 62.99, plus taxes and such and I'm busting 70 dollars easy each month, and for new customers, they get NEW DVRS up to 4 rooms, and for the same package I had for only 29.99 a month...guess what happened...bye bye directtv..hello dish network...I signed up for 24 month commitment with Dish Network, got all the same channels I had and then some with them, for 32.99 month, plus 5 dollars more for the extra dvr...so..DirectTV..you can kiss my ***...for my 8 years of commitment to you, and you wanted to offer me customer rentention in the form of 10 dollars a month for 6 months..well I went shopping, found a better deal, and committed to your competition....while I am only just one person..I can at least control who get's my money..take that you *** *** companys

Direct TV is NOT customer friendly. Signed up and never got equipment or phone calls three times over a19 day time frame. Lost 2 work days, 1 day off, all wasted waiting for some one to show up. Customer service sups. e-mailed Corporate, I e-mailed corp. and still no response. Just canceled my order. I suggest you do some homework and ask around in your area, if there are any problems. After not even getting any reply from the corporate customer support team, I quit!! VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AVOID AT ALL COST I am looking into DISH Network now.

Directv in Waukesha, Wisconsin - Deceived, mislead, withheld important information
I to was mislead and deceived. I put my credit card on file for a deposit only. I was not told it would be used for payments, any and all transactions direct tv saw fit to use my card for. i put up the deposit only. my son was not told by the installer that my card would be used for any other transactions. too date direct tv has charged my card over $900.00. i wasn't at the installation. I did not sign for nor approve any other transactions. They claim I should have read the small print. I did the deposit by phone. I never met the company that installed the equipment. Direct TV misleads their clients and withholds very important information during the transactions. I am filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau Wayne Nuckols Keswick, Va.

We have been loyal Direct TV customers of yours for years, and now you are in a dispute with the local CBS network. We don't want to hear how you or the local network is getting the shaft. You are both making plenty of money. The customer is the innocent victim...
Directv in Las Vegas, Nevada - Direct TV service
Direct TV sales people and customer service people tell you what you want to hear. I signed up in august of 2008 and cancelled service Dec. 29th due to move but I was told I would receive a 50.00 credit because I was referred by a friend and if I sighned up with Embarq here in Las Vegas I would also receive a 10.00 credit each month, well none of that happened. So when I cancelled I brought this to there attention and they told me that they will credit my account with these items and send me a detailed bill in the mail showing if and what the early cancellation fee would be, well 7 days later without my authorization I was withdrawn 279.00 from my account. As you may be I am very pissed off and called them and talked to them politely tried to resolve this and of course they cannot do anything I have to write a letter to a department. ***, Don't ever get direct TV, the service sucks and customer service is even worse.
Jan. 10, 2009 In July of 2008 I decided to called and inquire about putting Direct TV in camper we have in Brookville Indiana. My father and I both frequent the place in the summer and since he is ill and can't be outside much I thought it would be nice for him to be...
Directv "bundle" billing scam
Have to have Verizon on this street for internet because Verizon has the only service--through their phone line. I don't use their phone, just have to have the line active for internet. Aug 2008 Verizon advertised heavily for "bundle" service--the phone and internet I already had, plus directtv for approx. $104/mo. So I signed up just for the billing convenience. Verizon's bill was for $160 that next month, called V at least 6 times, got bounced all over the planet with persons whose English is unintelligible, finally V said oh, gosh, somebody forgot to deduct this, added that and so forth. So ok, send me the correct bill and I will pay it. A month went by, next bill was $270. And by the way, the directv was awful, 200 channels of either selling junk, ppv, or their notice that you can't have this channel unless you upgrade. Repeat of 6 calls to Verizon billing, finally I said if you can't provide the $$104 bill as specified, turn it all off. Verizon did, immediately. Then I got a bill from directv for $160! The actual unbundled directv monthly charge is $58 but directv demands I also pay to them what "I owe" Verizon, which I had canceled. 'Scuse me, I don't owe Verizon anything, but why should I pay directv for Verizon's phony bill? And $58 for about 12 directv channels that aren't ppv or selling is a bit steep, so you can turn that off too. But they won't. I pay my bills, on time and in full and I speak English. But I will NOT pay for false and fraudulent billing, false advertising, rude customer service, refusal to correct billing to advertised price, threats to attack my credit, etc. What do I do now? Take it to the state Attorney General?
