DirecTV is a SCAM the Worst comapany in the World

Company charges 5.00 a a month for receivers I have had for 7 years. I have 6 receivers that's 30.00 a month. I paid 180.00 last month for a regular package + fees and I do not have a premier package. They want to charge me 5.00 more a month for Protection plan. Without it if a receiver goes out I have to get charged 79.00 for a service fee for them to make it so I can watch TV. Worst company along with Sprint in the entire world. They are a monopoly if you have the NFL Sunday Ticket and the FCC let's them. Do not get DirecTv unless you absolutely have to.

On behalf of DirecTv, I am hereby authorized to send each and every account that has outstanding balances to CBE for collections. This is my job. Pay your bills on time and in full, and we would not have to do this. Being poor/broke is not an excuss, you ordered the service, you pay the bill.

"This is by far the dumbest complaint..."

Is the insult really necessary?

"Of course if your rented reciever (sic) goes bad you have to pay for it to be fixed..."

Why? Is there some law requiring this? This isn't just their own policy?

"...thats why they have a protection plan."

No. They have a protection plan so that they can bilk $5 a month from customers who don't know any better than to pay a company to maintain its own equipment.

This is by far the dumbest complaint I have read on this site. Of course if your rented reciever goes bad you have to pay for it to be fixed thats why they have a protection plan. Its $5 for the entire account and makes perfect sense.

Directv in Alvarado, Texas - Worst Customer Service and Billing!!!!!!!

These idiots have mixed my account with someone else. After talking to three diffrent reps in billing no-one could figure out what they had done. they double bill and will not correct even after i faxed my bank statements to them. Then they cancelled my service even though I had paid the bill in full. When i told them i wanted them to cancel my service they informed me that they were going to charge me $20.00 a month until 2010. to this I say try it!!!!!!!!!!!! I refuse to pay for a service and then be treated like this. They can stick it where the sun doesn't shine.

I feel the same as you these people should have a class action law suit bougth againist them. If we get enough people together I feel we would win.

They did the same thing to me and then told me they would put me in collection although I have already paid them and faxed them twice and sent them a copy in the mail.

They are the biggist rip off I have ever seen and the court should step in and make them pay for the time they take from you. If thats the case they owe me already $525.00 for just putting me out and talking to them for hours and then they hang up.

Maybe all of you Directv customers should have read the customer agreement. You cant say DTV lied because they send you the customer agreement in the first bill.

DirecTV Customer Service Reps are clueless

Over the last two days I have spent almost 3 hours on the phone with 5 different Customer Service reps trying to resolve a simple problem about automatic CC billing. They are unable to access my account to make changes, I am unable to access my DTV online account. No one at DTV knows why. They want me to cancel one account, open another and change all my passwords, CC billing info and all other associated information to see if that corrects the problem. I am seriouly considering going back to cable. DTV is fast becoming the new DMV. Whew.

Clueless? or Useless?

Either one is correct.

I was very happy with Directv until this year.

I had to have a new reciever installed on one of my tvs earlier this year. I asked the installer, what about the phone connection for Pay Per Views. I was told that it wasn't needed. When I tried to get a movie I couldn't because the phone line wasn't connected.

Last week I couldn't get NBC in the Los Angeles which is on chnnel 4.

I did all of the usual things of disconnecting the power and cable cords. I got the automated voice asking if I had do this & I said yes. I get a hold of a person who again asked if I had disconnected the power and cable cords and again I said yes. I was told there was a problem with NBC. Call again in the morining if there was still a problem. And agin in the morning the same questions. I was told the tech people are working on it. I call in the evening on day two. I was told to check the cable connection the satellite on the roof of my house. I don't have a ladder that high.

I later on searched my memory and kind of remembered that there is a NBC channel at much hight than the channel 4 in Los Angeles of which the alternate number for NBC in Los Angeles is 383. Why aren't the Directv people given this information to pass on to customer that's been with them for over 8 years.

I even mention again that I have a problem getting pay per views. I was told that there would be a charge to do a phone connection because it be too long.

I got an e-mail that the problem with my reciever has been corrected. I go to check and it's the same problme of not getting NBC. I sent a reply that I still have a problem and go a reply not to reply.

The people I spoke to were very nice but as usefull as a dead duck.

i agree with them being clueless i had a rude agent from directv the other day and her remark was to shut the *** up and let me speak. she could not give me a good reason why my bill from 133.25 went up to 175.33 she told me something about billing i was like bogus my *** and she told me to shut the *** up i was like oh *** na i want a supervisor she told me between 4 to 8 hours i was never called by a supervisor at all.

Don't waste your phone time - if you can't get a rep to give you some actual true help within 5 minutes, demand nicely to speak to a supervisor. Tell them sweetly (or not) that since they are unable to help you, you want to speak to a supervisor.

If that person can't help you, demand to speak to THEIR supervisor. This works with any company from you local electric company to government agencies.

I got tired of wasting my daytime cell minutes with clerks who knew less than I did - maybe not their fault, but not my problem. If they can't help in the first 5 minutes of the call, they have proven their uselessness and can pass me to someone with more training.

DirectV, No!

I still do not have HD service, Customer Service is 0, you talk to 100 people you have to repeat your case, they have notes but nothing is being done. Thye say I owe them money because I cancelled. I only had service for 10 days; I did not cancel. They were not able to install my HD dish! First they said I owe them $980+ !!! Did not get any bill or bills in the mail. If you think I'm making this up, I don't blame you because it's unbelievable! Nightmare! What's next? I still don't have service, no one is listening! Run! If I am you and you do not have Direct or have nothing to do with them, you're great! Keep it that way! Don't go near DirectV, run for your life ! This is unbelievable. Got new TV and all but no service; next is they'll say I cancelled. Giving them 10 days, if not,

When you signed up for the service "you" went into an agreement with them. They can charge up to $480 for early termination.

It states this on their website! You should have read the terms before you signed!

When this goes against your credit, then don't be complaining because you can't keep your end of the bargain up. Obviously you are an ***!

Directv in Roanoke, Virginia - Deceptive Billing Practices and Bait and Switch

We got Direct TV last year, they did not tell us it was for 2 years, I never signed anything, they did not tell us we would not get network channels, let alone local. They continually messed up the billing, finally in Sept 5 months later we cancelled, I went through a myriad of problems to cancel without a penalty, finally searched through website and found a person, they waived the cancellation fee. Now 9 months later we suddenly get a bill for movies we supposedly watched 11 and 13 months ago. Now again i'm being given the run around and customer Service (that is a joke) refuses to give me a phone number for corporate headquarters. I'm contacting the state Commonwealth Atty General's Office in Richmond, VA and filing a complaint.

How about this one I ordered DirectTV Choice under the understanding that I would recieve the Fuel TV channel. I confirmed it with the rep over the phone and also confirmed it online.

When I turned on the TV and saw that there wasnt my favorite channel FuelTV I picked up the phone and called them becuase I thought there was an error and they could fix it. When I called I spoke with Tricia and she advised me that Direct TV can remove channels at anytime without notice. How is this legal?

This would be the same as if I sit down at dinner look at the menu and see Fries, Soda and a burger.

I order the meal confirm with the waitress and when I get the meal they charge me the same price but take the burger away! How do they get away with this? No price reduction just take my services away??

I would stay far away from DirectTV! :( :(
