Directv in Acme, Michigan - *** company refuses to refund deposit

I was told when I ordered the service that I would not have to pay an "early termination" fee, if I moved into a place that does not allow satellite tv. Despite that, they debited my account & refuse to refund the money. I now live in a condium complex that does NOT allow a dish, & informed direct tv of that when I cancelled. They credited my account, assured that I would have a refund in 30 days. That was months ago. I've called several times, now they tell me they "reversed" their decision. They're unethical *** don't do business with them!

NEVER TOLD of an early cancelattion fee of 300.00 dollars either over the phone. these lying BASTARDS.

wow then they put it on my credit report and you know what that means. YOU HAVE TO PAY, or else it DOSENT GO AWAY. if you continue to be a member of society your credit report can STOP you from getting a JOB. i applied for a job and what do you know i cant get hired unless i pay these lying bastards there 300.00 fee on my credit report.

i paid them but i will never buy anything again regarding TV/PHONE companies. all lying bastards.

Direct TV is also refusing to refund my $300 deposit, because I was relocated and had to cancel my service. This is a horrible business practice, and this is definitely not a deposit.

It is a rip if I have ever heard one. Now, they are wanting me to give them an additional $176 for early cancellation. This is horrible.

I should not owe them a thing, and I will never suggest their service to anyone. What a rip off.

I just called Direct TV today, when I signed up for a one year contract they asked me for a 500.00 deposit which i read would be refuned after my year was up..I called to ask how this deposit was going to be refunded and they informed me that no where have they ever refunded a deposit...then take it off the fine print when people sgin up...

I called today to cancel my account with Direct tv after i have finished the two years contract that i had with them and when i asked about the deposit that they take from me (300.00) when I signed up, they told me that i am not going to receive it because i cancelled. why would they call it a deposit if they are not going to pay it to people even if one finishes his two years agreement.

what should i do? any suggestions?

Directv in Newark, New Jersey - Change cost several times

I subscribed to the Verizon 3 way deal..Hi Speed Internet,Unlimited calling and Direct TV. I called Verizon becuse I was going to subcribe toOptimun 3 way deal for about $90.00. They said they wiould give me a better deal. For $110.00 I would get receivers for 3 TVs. Afree DVR and a digital camera delivered in 6 weeks.They later change the 6 weeks to 30 days after the 3rd billing add another 6 weeks they will send me a apllication for the free gift. I later found out after delivery that there was a $5.99 rental charge extra for the DVR, Each month the billing was different $132.00 and $ 140.00. I called several times to Verizon to no avail. My last calll they agreeded to lower the cost to $120.00 a month for the 3 services for 12 months then God knows what the cost will be after the 12 months of my 24 month subscription.At first they claimed I had four receivers and had the wrong date of the installation of my Dvr. they will not reinburseme for the 2 months of overcharge. They claim they had no tapes of my origional quote. But theyhad tapes of my convrersation that resulted in Verizon hanging up. I called to cancell Direct Tv. They said it would cost me $429.00 to cancell for 2 months

Very upset at directv billing

I had directv for 5 years. Directv was unwilling to work with me on getting my bill down to affordable levels. No where online or on my receiver did it say that after I ordered ppv sports packages I couldn't get at least a credit for the unwatched portions of those packages. Apparently you are supposed to go to the website and find this out before you order them over the receiver I guess. Anyways I am left with an 1100 directv bill I refuse to pay. I told them they can stick their service where the sun doesn't shine and I will never deal with them again. I now have dish network and like it except for they don't have as nice equipment or as many sports/hd channels. The sad thing was I was willing to pay them $700 to pay off my account and they told me I owed them $900 and wouldn't back down. I figured a company would take the $700 and be happy but I guess directv doesn't think that way for some reason.

Directv in New Orleans, Louisiana - Wages lost and STILL no installation

I ordered the Direct Tv on Wednesday May 7th and was told that they could send somene out on Monday May 12th ...BEFORE placing my order I asked the sales lady 3 times if they were for sure they could be here on Monday May 12th between 8 - 12 because I would need to schedule a day off work -- and she assured me they could. So I took off that day and that is hard for me because I work offshore and work on a 14 and 7 schedule, so I took a personal day. Monday comes and it crawls closer and closer to 12 -- so I put in a call to them and am informed that they are scheduled to come here on Tuesday May 13th! I explained the situation I was in with my work schedule and I asked if there was any way that they could get someone out today even if it was after 12 I was told by the supervisor that they can not schedule a installtion on the same day even though I told her it was NOT the same day -- I was told it would be Monday the 12th when I placed the order on Wednesday the 7th!! Now I can't get another day off of work right now and I have to reschedule it and the only opening is 2 weeks from now and that is when I will be offshore so I have to get someone to come set at my house so that this can be installed. This is BS service to say the least. If there was a way to back out of this without costing me an arm and a leg I would have already done it!

I am so pissed right now because I cancelled my direct tv service shortly after installing it because the dish was installed incorrectly, my hd box was not working most of the time, and i couldnt get someone out to my house to actually fix anything. I cancelled service the same day I signed up for comcast cable.

they sent me a final bill in the mail for $250 in April, but to be honest, I was in no hurry to pay it. I looked at my checking account today and much to my surprise there is a bank card debit from them for $497. I have been on the phone with them all day. I get conveniently disconnected at times and this last "supervisor" tells me that there is no documented history of me even cancelling service.

they refuse to reverse charges or to tell me what the charges are for!! they should be closed down. i am so upset.

i am bouncing things in my account!! what can we do???

Yeah , this is what is called corporate thievery. FCC , State or anyone else is not going to care.

Customer service with some companies like direct tv is nothing but you'll have your bend and turn around so that they can put their big *** up ur *** and *** over and over again, until you discover the reality and then it's too late.

I was about to sign up with them. Thank god I checked yahoo for directv compaints and tons of sites came up.

After 3 attempts to get Direct Tv to install HD/DVR to my existing account, I gave up. They kept sending thugs that could hardly speak english to my home up to 4 hours past the agreed upon times. then they said they couldn't do the job because they didn't have the right equipment????? Direct Tv Customer Service was nice but no help. they kept promising and sending out the thugs. These guys looked and acted like they wanted to kill me instead of install a service. As far as I know they were hired directly from prison.Comcast is now getting my business.

I moved and through mass tv marketing I understood Directv would move my service for free. Of course this is not true.

We had some late payments so we would have to pay $100 to move our stuff! I widdled down the fee to $50. They could not hook up my DVR because it is a townhome?! C'mon.

Just get the job done. So, I have been charged for 6 months and counting for a DVR that only does half the functions that it should. Not only that but Directtv is now saying that by getting a credit on my move fee, I agreed to a new two year agreement! NOT TRUE.

THIS WAS NEVER AGREED UPON! They will not provide me any proof. No signed contract, no voice authorization, just a generic customer agreement! They have extended my agreement twice now without my knowledge!

That's 4 years of committment! I'm not paying them, their not getting their equipment back and good luck proving your case to my credit bureau!

THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM. YOUR EVERYDAY ***.

Directv in Parish, New York - Direct TV

Had cable, went to Direct TV so I could get Imus. Several problems with incorrect billing, extra charges, hours of phone calls promising corrections that never happened led me to cancel within a short time. They charged me $490 for canceling! Had service problems right from the start, didn't show up, then called for different instal times, never hooked up locals channel sattelite. When I called got several people who couldn't speak understandable english. Never again, I guarantee. I know several other people who wish they never got sucked in. Beware. Am proceeding to the attorney generals office. I don't want to see anybody else go though this.

You guys show some good movies during the weekday when most of us are working, and absolutely nothing good on weekends. I would like to see older movies like Dance with Me, Havana Nights, Cheetah girls, on a time schedule in which one can relax and enjoy

I received my new service 2 days ago and today I'm canceling the account and stopping my credit card payment to them. They do not carry a full line of channel line-up and do not disclose that. (Lifetime for Women, for one) Customer service personnel extremely dim. You can't get to a supervisor until you tell the operaters your life story. Every time you call, every person they switch you to, you have to go thru the "who you are, account info. and identification process" and you DO end up being transferred to 3-4 different robots. I refuse to do business with this company regardless of any picture quality, which, by the way, on my very, very high end equipment, is not that much of an improvement over the Time-Warner cable that I'm re-hooking up to. DirecTV is the worst company ever

After being forced to leave my apartment, I had to end my DirecTV contract 2 months early. I called and spoke to them, then was directed to write an email, which I did. Then I got a generic reponse that didn't address my request. I called the original person I spoke to several times, but he never returned my call. I tried again from the beginning and was told that they couldn't do anything to help me over the phone and that I'd have to write a letter. I took the time to write and mail a letter, which I have seldom been angry enough to do. Then they called me at home in the evening to hassle me and interrogate me about the situation. They kept repeating the same things over and over, insisting that I should have somehow anticipated being asked to move out of my apartment. Then they put me on hold again only to come back and refuse to help and address my request. It was unbelievable. These are some of the worst business practices I've ever experienced. What a nightmare!
