I have TIVO and am very pleased with it. When I was looking into Direct TV, I was told it worked with TIVO. I have 4 TV's in the house, one with the TIVO and a DVD/VCR combo, the other 3 just have VCR's. The first installer came out and didn't even know how...

About a month ago I tried to get Direct TV, the full package w/2 HD receivers. I went on their site and got the most recent special code and called them.

1 week later an installer came out and made the first attempt to connect the system. Before he left he activated my account. It all starts when they activate the account. I realize I am having an issue with channels over a certain number.

I place a call to have a remount/alignment done. Two more Saturdays used up by two different installers attempt to get the system to work. And on top of things, I now have a leaky roof on a brand new house to deal with. After the third attempted everything was sent back.

I have called them dozens of time and spend countless hours trying to simply get my money back, not get charged two years of cancelation fees and to pay for my roof to be fixed and leasing fees. So far my totals are over $800.00 for something I couldn’t even use and they messed up my new house.

Nothing is working; does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to get their attention? :(

same old story, i fell for the lies the young lady told me after she knocked on my door, i didn't sign a contract as they claim the agreement to the contract is when you give them your pay information, which in my case was one dollar, stayed pending on bank account for a day or two then jumped up some. i explained to her i was a disabled vet with serious ptsd issues and legally blind, i'm in the class of the sighted blind, confusing but more of us than sightless, told her i didn't need to be converged on by crews *** me off, assured me direct tv would come next morning and att fiberoptics the next morning, almost before daylight both arrived at the same time, one working in the back and one working in the front, the direct tv dish was set on edge of my roof at eaves, pointing directly into a large tree that shades my bedroom window, he claimed no knowledge of the package he was installing, the young guy in back refused to listen to me when i told him since we had overhead lines with poles in alley he needed to follow the power lines, the old cable lines, and the phone lines down the middle of the two houses and come across the back of my house, to save about 5ft of cable he chose to drop his line from pole across my back yard at an angle, drooping almost low enough to touch it, hane it over an old purlin where i was attempting to build a wall across back porch, if you don't know the purlin is made of steel, then brought it through a wall beside a sliding glass door that we are slowly replacing , the wall, sheetrock, is rotting and crumbling, then up against a door frame, across the frame, down the other side, and put all the fiber optics boxes on the wall beside my dining room table, his excuse was in one instance, saving cable, the other reason was he needed the equipment as close as possible to the router/modem.

he also told me he didn't know what he was installing, but he knew for sure something was wrong because they did not have the thousand mgbt i purchased in the package. now this is a running problem since feb, each person i discuss it with convinces me its easier to change the bundle than to try and quit them, what i didn't snap to was that each time i let them try to change and get me to what i was promised, i changed the date that the 2 years promotion ended.

so now i have a *** internet service, slow and buffers on streaming, and no direct tv it only worked a week or so off and on, i even cut the tree almost completely down and still nothing. im not sure why some attorney doesn't put a class action suit against these *** and lump the city council of san antonio in with them, they have the power to allow them here or not.

I ordered DTV over the phone because I had just moved into a new apt. and there was a Direct TV dish just outside my apt. I got Salesperson #1 who informed me I could get the channels I wanted (including the Science Channel) for a mere $34.99 per month, and that I...

DirecTV Lies to it's customers

I have been having the worst experience I have ever had with DirecTV. I have been having problems with my HD signal ever since I bought it and the Manager at DirecTV said they would send a techniction for FREE so I said great. The Tech came and didn't speak very good English so it was hard for him to understand hat was wrong. After 30 minutes of looking at my TV he left. He didn't do anything and I got a bill for $80 dollars. I have tried several times to get them to reverse the charge but there customer service reps are very rude. Don't do business with Directv. There service is Horrible.

This is about Directv 1. I leased? HDDVR at Best Buy for $200. Then I ordered installation of an HD dish: surprise, it requires a 2 year contract. Shouldn't they say so on the box? If I cancel early it costs $20 for each month early and to buy my contract it costs...

The red print on the box, the tag by the receivers, the long receipt that was printed out and handed to you plus the acess card that you pulled out to read to them all stated the receiver was leased with a commitment. All things I learned from a best buy sales person.

Directv in Flemington, New Jersey - Direct TV Takes your money without Authorization

I had Direct TV for 5 years and had a better deal from Dish Network. Switched to Dish Network.Direct TV charged me a $50 early disconnect fee on my last paper bill.I was arguing with them over the fee for $50 and they said they were wrong and would take it off the bill.In a matter of 2 days after this happening they go into my checking account and preauthorize a deduction for $140.79. My account balance plus the 50.00 fee. I never authorized this payment and certainly never gave them my checking info.Because the deduction said preauthorized at the bank they could not do anything to stop this after they took it out. Now they are telling me that it will be 6 to 8 weeks to get the credit.

Directv in Woodlawn, Tennessee - Illegal Billing Practices

I spoke with several contacts at DirecTV concerning my mother's account to which a 3rd party, roommate, that no longer resides at the location has an outstanding balance for her service. Out of all of the contacts only one person gave me an Agent Code which is U9792. The balance from the previous resident has now been placed onto my mother's account based solely on the fact that the address and phone numbers were the same. This other party has a different name, different SNN, and is a 100% different person. My mother is NOT liable for the actions and debts of another person. Should DirecTV wish to collect on the debt then they should go after the person who's SSN is associated with that account. I have spent the last 2 hours of my life getting told that a different department handles that issue, being hung up on, and being treated as though I am some bratty three year old child who is acting out. The ridiculous “customer service” I have been provided is a joke and all of those that work for DirecTV should be ashamed of themselves. I work for a large wireless company and if I or any of my employee’s spoke in such a fashion to a customer someone would be taking a trip into my manager’s office. I am thoroughly distraught at the idea or fact that they are attempting to collect another person’s debt via my mother and yet can not provide any proof of policy or written/typed part of the contract granting such an action. I will be sure to make sure that DirecTV will not soon forget my call into them as I will be spreading the voice of a scorned consumer across the internet, my community, and further if need be until this issue is resolved.

DirecTV

DO NOT sign contracts with DirecTV. My wife and I signed a contract for 2 years, she's in the Coast Guard and we were moved from Atlanta to Miami. The apartment complex we were moved into by the Coast Guard doesn't allow DirecTV unless you go through there company and pay a *** called DirectPath an additional $40.00 a month, we tried to explain this to DirecTV. There answer, WITHOUT notification, hit our bank account with a $400.00, three months later which threw everything out of whack and now we have a negative $700.00 bank account. Thanks a lot DirecTV
