I suspect you know who used your name and info to acquire a DirectTV account, but at this point you need to get a free credit report from each of the major credit reporting agencies and see exactly what the negative info says. You can get these at "freecreditreport.com" and then if you see any negative info you can submit an explanation as to why that info is erroneous.

Each of the reporting agencies websites explain how to do this. Good luck.

Directv - Sent to collections for wrong account. BEWARE

My husband was sent to a collection agency for a Direct TV that was not our account. We terminated our relationship with Direct TV in 2013. The new account was set up in 2014 in another state. I have tried to resolve this issue both with Direct TV and the collection agency. Both blame the other for the problem. I have spoken to everyone at Direct TV being transferred to 12 different people in one phone call. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE at this company. Today 6-19-2017 thought I would try to resolve this problem again. Spoke with ARNIE in identity thief dept who guaranteed me that no social security numbers are sent to the collection agency. The collection agency assured me that DIRECT TV supplies social security numbers to them. WHO IS THE LIAR in this case? When I called back to the Identity THief Dept and spoke with Rebecca, she said that we were not in collections and she hung up on me. WOW. She should notified the collection agency then. NEVER USE DIRECT TV FOR ANY SERVICE. THEY SUCK!!!!!!!

Directv - Total disaster

I had directtv in South Carolina. I brought my DVR and other receivers to do a quick install. I had two men come in a van with no Directtv signs, but they had the paperwork. First theu insisted that the dish had to be placed on my front lawn. Then that i had to pay them $150 cash in order to set up and dig for the post to hold the dish. I told them I would call Directtv to confirm this and the price dropped to $100. I told them to take whatever they had dobe down. It sat there until my neighbor took it out. They actually sent me a bill for $400 for installation work and the equipment. I told them to come pick up the equipment. They never have.

I was just over the phone with a useless customer service rep for the same reason. I asked for a supervisor and was placed on hold forever.

Not resolved at all.

I'm losing my patience with this company. I wish a lot of people boycott their service.

Ive been a customer of Direct TV for 5 YEARS. I have ordered numerous movies OnDemand via my remote control. All movies have 48 hour rentals. As of late the 48 rental period has not been honored. In order to correct these problems guess what? Customer service is in the PHILIPINES!!!! *** that. I called 3 times tonight to have problems corrected and after this review I will be making my fourth call. No, not because I like talking to people in the Philipines but becauseTHEY DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM THE FIRST TIME. Also. My contract is over July 18th 2017. I wont be renewing.

Directv - Getting cheated by direct tv!

I just got direct tv in February again and I had to cancel they went from 97.00 dollars a month to 104 and when I went to cancel they said I owed on my contrct in which I never had a contract. Then I was told that when the tech came out I signed a tablet and that was the contract but the tech said I was to sign to show them that it was installed. Then they charged me for two months and I paid every month. I am very upset at this company and will go to the BBB again regarding them. If my bill was already set at a set price why do they keep uppnig it?

I worked for DirectV for 4 years just leaving December 2016. Since AT&T has taken over DirectV customer service has gone down hill. I used to have calls that customers said they did not get what was told or promised to them and I thought they just did not understand...
