Directv sent emails every week for me to come back and offered several incentives including $200.00 gift card if I signed on for 2 years along with 3 other incentives.

I was told on the day of installation that I had to pay $199.00 deposit because Experian said I had no credit file. I paid it and figured I would straighten it out and Directv would refund the money. Boy, was I wrong. Experian told me yes, I do have a credit file with them and the person at Directv must have given incorrect information. (Of course I have a file...I am 66 years old!!!). Now, at this point I had been a Directv customer for over 15 years. I was promised a $200.00 Visa gift card, an upgraded DVR and 2 other incentives to come back. When I called Directv to tell them it was incorrect that I do not have a credit file, I was told that I did not qualify for the gift card because the technician that installed my service did not qualify for that incentive! WHAT??????? That is crazy. I am so disappointed in Directv and am going to call the CEO's office.

Sine up for direct tv with auto pay 2 months went by and they shut off the service do to no pay. Sent there equipment back and got charged today for $600 no notice at all they will never see my business again

Nightmare contract!!!!!!

I have accepted a new job offer which means I have to relocate. I am moving into a house where they already have cable which means I don't need to move my service. I have to cancel my current account and have 18 months left on a contract so you're charging me $20.oo per month ????? Almost $400.00 ????? Welcome to 2017 where we as consumers have CHOICES. There are providers out there who do not require contracts and if they do they don't rip people off for making life decisions that don't include satellite television. We also have access to social media and can tell people about specific experiences with various companies. GET A CLUE!

Directv customer service has gone downhill

I have been a Directv customer for over 14 years. In all that time when I experienced a problem they were Johnny on the spot courteous and went the extra mile to make sure everything was satisfactory.

A week and a half before thanksgiving I got the dreaded blue screen saying my system was down and call customer support. I did the recommended repairs listed on the screen and it did not fix it. Customer service said it was an antenna problem and they needed to send a technician out to repair it but it was going to be a week and a half out. What???

No tv for a week and a half !!! I immediately said that was unsatisfactory, they said that was the best they could do. I said I will have to look into other options including going to fiber optic tv from my local phone company Whidbey Tv. Their answer was they would be happy to connect me with the disconnection department.

I asked for a supervisor and she also told me that was the best they could do. I waited the week and a half the technician came on time and took 10 minutes to change the connector at the antenna which he said had gotten water in it and had rusted. By now I am really happy with this AT&T managed company so much so that I went right down to my local phone company and signed up for their tv service and canceled Directv after 14 years. The sad part is I probably would never have switched but I feel I received very poor service and had to wait a week and a half for a 10 minute repair.

Oh the phone company came out the next day and did an excellent job of installation and cut my $150.00 dollar a month Directv bill to$60.00 a month with the same channels and I think the picture is better on fiber optic. When I did get disconnections they did the usual sorry you received bad service and they made a bunch of offers to get me to stay including matching the phone company but I said no I had already ripped out the boxes

The customer service reps at Direct TV have not a clue about anything, I am so pissed that I have had to contact them at least 4-5 times since 9/25/16 when the call was made, I was promised 2 $100 gift cards due to an error when I started with them regarding the NFL package, on the several times I have called I have been on the phone at least 45 min or more for them to tell me its being handled, the visa cards have been sent to we have not record of anything... Well today was the last straw, as I called again after receiving the one from AT&T yesterday for direct tv to tell me I dont get one from them and they were giving me the $10 for refer a friend, which is not on my bill and the supervisor could not locate it either. Then she told me they would give me a $5 a month credit. I told her I didn't want the $5 credit because next month it would not be on my bill and I would have to tell 10 reps in the next 3 months the same story... Worst customer service ever... CANNOT wait to be done with this contract, the extra money to pay Time Warner is worth it not to have to deal with a company that has no clue and tells you a different story every time you call, with no record of the prior call when I have written down a name, date and time I called..... Terrible just Terrible!!!! I am beyond pissed that its now Dec 2, 2016 and Direct TV acts like I have no idea what I am talking about..... Unbelievable!!!

I am having the same issue with the gift card that I was promised in September. I have also called numerous times to get different stories.

I wonder if a class action lawsuit would be feasible. I am sure there are many people with the same issue.

Every time I call they act like they have no clue what I am talking about .. to the point they can keep there card and let me cancel my contract !!!

It's beyond help.. cause they have no clue !!!

Today the supervisor I spoke with said they can give me $5 a month off my bill !!! I told her to keep her $5 cause next month I would have to call 10 times to explain how I was getting it !!!!

The same thing happened to me with my gift card. The last time I called the rep on the phone told me she understood my frustrations and there's a lot of other people with the same problem.

I still haven't received the cards.

Sick of wasting my time. Lawsuit is needed

After speaking with 5 customer service agents and a supervisor... they are telling me that 3 recovery kits were sent out for the equipment.

None can be tracked and none showed up at my house. So i am still being charged for equipment I have been trying to send back since 8/2016. $337.05 worth of equipment i am being charged for.

Not to mention all the repair problems i had.

- faulty wiring

- cancelled appts by the repair person

- one of five boxes worked unless you moved a cable then none did

- wires spliced and just covered with electrical tape

This is a disgrace to all service providers.

I cancelled 2 genies & waited on the return boxes. Never showed so I was charged $135. I then decided to cancel Direct TV all together when they would not fix the problems or turn the genies back on. Then wanted to tell me the account had been turned over to collection on 12/20/16 but then charged an expired debit card for $315.00 worth of equipment that I still haven't recd return boxes for plus past due balance. How can they charge an expired card and for equipment they wont sent boxes for? When I talked with customer service they hung up on me after arguing with me that I wasn't charged for the initial genie boxes.

We signed up for Directv because of the low price we were offered. They said even when the promo prices expired we would still be saving money over the cable company, which was a complete lie. After calling and trying to find a better deal, we ended up deciding to cancel our service. The guy we talked to when setting up the cancellation suddenly said he could offer us all these special deals for us to stay, stuff that multiple people before had never offered, but we decided to cancel anyway. We had ordered a PPV over a year before cancelling, and as far as we knew we paid for it. No one said anything about us being behind on our bill, and we had autopay set up. Suddenly, though, when we decided to cancel, they were coming after us for the cost of this PPV, claiming we had never paid for it. Rather than wasting time researching this PPV payment, we decided to pay the bill to be done with Directv. I wonder, though, if they would have ever billed us for the PPV if we didn't cancel.

First i try to order one nhl hockey game never got it, called next day thought it was taken care of started charging me for nhl package got my account credited thought that was taken care of they started doing it again tried to run my card for double the amount ny bill was supposed to be on the 16th of December well of course my card didnt go through bc the amount was to much they never informed me that happened so come home the otherday it was shut off called of course I'm angry at this point told them im not paying that amount im canceling two days later run my card for 300 bucks then two days after that im shut off again I'm very angry at this point

I had an outage on my tv, called direct tv and the first thing I said was NOT to call the home phone because I was not there, gave them my cell number and when I got no call I found out that they Called the home phone like idiots, So finally called my cell number to tell me they would be at the house by 12.30, my mother called and said there were at the house, I told her to tell him that I was down the street about 2 minutes, when she went to tell the tech, he had left, Called Direct TV and complained, they said they would make it high priority next time, got a call saying the tech would be there from 1.30 to 2. I got to the house at 1.25, the tech had already came at 1.20 and left again, I called and complained again, the service said they would call him to return, he never came back, I left work early twice for these idiots, I finally cancelled them. The techs must be on a time frame where when they finish so many calls then they can go home, He couldn't even wait 1 minute. so much for customer service..

starts with automated answering that don't understand you. Then goes to customer reps that you can't understand, heavy India accent. Constant price increases with decreasing quality of products and service. Get suckered in with what you think is a low price, then get hit with fees for every receiver, hd for every receiver, dvr for every receiver. All that money for equipment that is garbage. Then, you better hope the wind don't blow or for it to rain or snow. Once you're a customer,you're forgotten about. They only focus on getting new customers. Don't fall for the scam!

AT&T + Direct TV Spells More Rip Off for Consumers

For years I had two accounts with Direct TV, but no more. I called them on three different occasions asking them to lower my payments, but each time they wanted to just sell me a lesser package. Fourth time I called to disconnect and they started trying to come up with discounts and some kind of *** where they said I could not hang up until they had read and gone over all the disclosures with me. I said terminate and hung up. They're just a severe pain and need to go away. My disclosure says I only have to do two things in life, pay taxes and die...so *** me Direct you chimps! Even their refunds suck. A debit card issued by Citi , that they're hoping you'll forget that you have and they'll scam the refund back & then Citi wants to charge a transaction fee if you use the debit card? ...so glad I switched.

We have had a service call appointment 2 different times 8am to 12pm. Both times it was the same girl that came out and she was extremely late both times. She called my husband at 11:26 am and said she was on her was. She showed up at 1:45pm and she can manipulate the system to show that she got here at 11:56am and that is a big fat LIE. How can they continue to loose someone that does this and doesn't care. I don't understand how they keep customers when they don't care how any of us feel. And the girl doesn't know how to fix a problem. She is not trained on fixing anything. I'm sick of Direct Tv.

Worst customer service ever.

my original package included a special for the 2014 NFL ticket. We never used it so I canceled it in 2014. In 2016 without my knowledge or consent the NFL package was added to my service even though I had canceled the service in 2014 and never had it in 2015. I was on autopay therefore I never realized it. when I realized my bill had gone up I contacted DirecTV. After waiting for over three hours on hold for Dion a customer service supervisor. He told me wouldn't reverse the charges - I asked him why I was on hold for so long he said that's the normal time on hold to speak to a supervisor. I asked several times to speak to somebody else or the cancellation department and he refused. He thought it was humorous that he left me on hold for three hours he then proceeded to call me twice from 1-80*-432-**** after I hung up and asked me if I wanted to renew my NFL package . Apparently he thought this was humorous also and obviously has to much time on his hands. Meanwhile I'm sure other customers are waiting on hold to have their problems not solved. I will be canceling both my personal DirecTV package and the DirecTV package at my business and sharing my story with as many people as possible.

Had to wait 11 days for a service call-tv completely out. Finally fixed then went out again, different code (now needs equipment replacement). Waited 4 days for service call, waited all day. Service guy finally on his way-never showed up. We live in Colorado!! We have mountains-duh. Service guy too scared to drive a "2-lane" dirt mountain road. Too SCARED!! Next appointment - another 5 days! That's 20 days no tv!!! HORRIBLE service !!!
