Directv - Costs

Was a Direct TV customer since 2009. Bill was consistent at 58.00 a month, just wanted it to be the same . they jacked it up to 88.00 a month, after all these years of faithful payments they would not help me keep the same price. Cancelled, and then what do I get in the Mail? A 200.00 dollar gift card and a 12 month 29.95 TV cost for one year!!!! Why couldn't they offer any help when I called them? *** Direct TV ,you could care less about your customers. Your reps are the worst ever! I now have a 2 year agreement at less than I was paying you. If you want customers, have a senior plan to cut 50% off the cost for all retirees.

DirecTV and AT&T apparently don't realize they're on the same team

Details
I was in the process of moving last month and informed DirecTV that I wanted to cancel service. After giving me the whole bit about wanting to see me stay and offering me the "mover's package" etc I told them I'm going to use streaming providers going forward and didn't want to bother with the expensive monthly bill for satellite cable. Around that same time my wife and I consolidated our cell phones to AT&T (I switched from Verizon - she was already with AT&T). What convinced us to go with AT&T was that we were told we could get a free Galaxy S7 and the introductory rate for DirecTV with a two year agreement (4 rooms and the basic "Select" channel package for $50 a month). So after this I called DirecTV and told them that I would like to keep their service and what AT&T had promised and they said they'd be able to do that. So DirecTV installs everything at our new house and, little did I know, they locked my into a two year agreement with this and they did not give me the introductory rate (which would've been $74 a month - $50 for my "Choice" programming package and $14 for 2 additional minis outside of the first 4). Instead they charged me the full rate of $75 a month for my programming and $50 a month for equipment which was $51 more per month than I was told I would be paying by AT&T when they sold me my new phone. I spent the majority of yesterday going back and forth between DirecTV and AT&T and everytime I talked to DirecTV they told me that the promotion AT&T claimed was there didn't exist and that I couldn't cancel or I'd be subject to a $480 early contract termination fee. Everyone at AT&T kept telling me that I could just cancel the DirecTV service under my name and put it under my wife's name to get the deal. DirecTV informed me that this would be considered residential fraud which would be investigated and I'd potentially be subject to prosecution. It's seems ridiculous to me that two companies who are both owned by the same entity could be so completely out of touch with each other. I guess they accomplished their end goal which was to get me locked into two year contracts on both the AT&T Wireless and DirecTV sides but this whole experience has completely turned me off from both providers and I will be leaving them both at the first opportunity to do so.

Directv - Customer Care Review

Phoned customer service to change our billing address with your representative whom we had to repeat over & over each piece of information. After over 27 mins. on the phone we gave up for she again wished to start over! Not worth the time for something so simple. Apparently it's time to change service if we can't explain in plain English to your outsourcing service representative! Contact us with someone who can if you wish to keep our business! Greg 818-388-9027 & leave message to return your call with a direct line & extension.

Directv in Lincoln, Nebraska - Initial install order of promised 4 free tv boxes, all local channels and a $200 gift card and after installed none of that was given.

I called in the latter part of September for Directv install and had to wait a month and a half to get it. The day of calling and ordering install was promised by sales rep that "ofcourse" we would get all of the local channels. We have four tv's and he said we would receive all four boxes free per month and also eligible for a $200.00 gift card. The day of install a month and a half later the installer said we would not get any local channels. I should have cancelled right then but just assumed that would be a simple fix with a phone call to Directv. I assumed there was just a mistake in including them. We have had Directv in the past and never had any issue so ofcourse I assumed that would be the case. Boy was I wrong. Now after almost daily conversations with a different person every time to DIRECTV the only thing that has happened is after waiting for almost two months I find out yesterday the reason we didn't get the gift card was because of someone putting in the wrong code. So supposedly it will be arriving in 6 to 8 weeks. No locals except NBC that we have to pay extra for. Having to pay for two of the four boxes that in the beginning were suppose to be free. Today I have sent a request that they keep their $200 gift card, cancel our contract with them and I won't turn them in to Better Business Bureau.

Directv - Bogus cancellation fee

I have been with directv off and on for many years. This last time after moving to South Carolina, I been with them for 1 year effective 12/9/16. I was told by the technician that I was under a 1 year contract. I was doubtful about that length of time since I just moved to another state but signed up and hope for the best. After the 1 year, my bill increased substantially. I called directv and was told my credits had expired and no promotions were available. I called again the following week and told no promotions available. So I called another service and signed up with them. When I called directv to cancel my service, I was stun when tbey said I owe a cancellation fee for early cancellation. I know I would not have signed up for 2 years if I was told it was a 2 year contract. Directv MISLED CUSTOMERS INTENTIONALLY. I would be kind if I give them a 1 star. For their actions, they deserved 0 star customer service. I am requesting to waive the cancellation fee. Thank you

Why will the Federal government not do anything about these thieves? The government is always trying to regulate things that are none of their *** business. Instead of constantly *** Americans off worrying about gun control, why don't you help hard working Americans that are constantly being ripped off by *** like DirectTV and Verizon. seem these companies can do whatever they want with no consequences. Hopefuly, when Trump takes office, he will address some of these shady business practices. Trump says he wants to help the working "middle class", regulating these giant "untouchable" companies would be a great start. I am sick of paying $141.00 a month for the $74.00 a month package that I signed up for.

Directv - Horrible Customer Service - - Help - -

After only 13 months of service the hard drive of my receiver gave up. I called the number as requested. They want to charge me for replacing it. WHY? did I break it? No Apparently no longer under warranty. Seriously?? that stuff does not even last the two year contract. after 55 min of horrible customer service from Cherril #454913 and Heidi B6790 I simply had enough. Its sad that companies like Direct TV have given up on customer service and simply focus on how can we get every dime out of our customers while we have them on the hook fulfilling their contract. Shame on YOU Direct TV

Getting very frustrated with Directv

For the past few months, many of the programs that I DVR cut off in the middle when watching, for no apparent reason. Then the words on the screen ask if I want to delete or save the show. I am getting ready to discontinue the service. I have no idea why this keeps happening and wonder if others have been experiencing this as well? For shows like 60 Minutes, it often comes on during a football game and then it cuts off the end of the show. Why can't the company remedy this problem as well? This problem didn't used to happen. Please help and give some ideas what the cause might be.
