Directv - Another One for the Customer Service Archives

I am so disappointed with the customer service and am a very dissatisfied customer soon to be a noncustomer. Here's another one for the archives.... Wiife and I split up. Paid the early termination fee and closed her account. Re-opened a new account under my name and a new installation. The whole install was suppose to be just swapping out all 6 of the receivers with the new ones and bam all done. Well the installer put in 4. I talked again to customer service and they sent out an installer to put the other 2 in and only put in 1. So called customer service again....they said can't upgrade the service without a 99 dollar receiver lease fee and an upgrade fee of 50 dollars. Blah blah blah...at the end of the day I ended up with 5 receivers instead of 6 and still not happy with this whole experience. That's my experience. I hope this helps other potential customers with their decision on which tv service they want to start service with. It's like the election! Which of the lesser evils!

This company has HORRIBLE customer service and apparently is manned by idiots. After tacking on "premium channels" to my bill, I have "chatted" or talked directly via phone with NINE DIFFERENT PEOPLE in the last month trying to remove these services and they continue to bill me for them. I have been promised multiple times that the issue will be taken care of, and also promised twice that they would call me back within a couple of hours to confirm that the bill was reduced (no calls received). The bill continues to show the increased amount, plus now they've tacked on a late fee for last month! It's time to contact the Better Business Bureau and cancel my services.

Direct Tv has the worst customer service. The little sob hung up on me. He told me I need to go to a AT&T store to get my questions answer. I can't wait until this contract is over. Fire stick here I come.

DO NOT FALL for the "directv is great" speal at the local costco's, fry's, sales pitch I would rather go back to XFINITY/Comcast - I have been a customer for less than 6 months and the service has sucked to say is pleasantly. I have them out for service calls 5 times, and the latency when changing channels, issues with DVR recorded programs, TV reception because of bad connections is frustrating, when it seems to be a charge for a new unit/box if the current ones originally did not work when first installed if you have a 4K TV, it is even worse the 4K channels carry an extra fee to watch except 2 and they are not something you would want to watch anyways. I am frustrated to the point that I am considering going back to Costco and telling them this is the worst promotion they have ran. Even though directv is part of AT&T now.. there charges, return policies, upgrade policies are antiquated which makes every thing a fee/charge.

Directv Tv Package Review

Today the DTV phone number 1-800-531-5000 called my phone 8 times throughout the day. I finally got annoyed and answered the call a "specialist" claiming he was with DTV (whom I could barely understand) Presented me with a promotional offer. Since we bundle with DTV if we prepay for 4 months at this special price lock gurantee of $320 we will get 2 years of service for $79.99 a month, which would include upgrades, the premium channel package and the NFL sports package. He asked if I was interested so I said sure and he connected me to his "supervisor" (which honestly sounded like the same guy) He gave me a recap of what the deal would include and then added that the payment would have to be made with an Amazon gift card (he said that it was because DTV was partnered with Amazon to offer this special deal) stated that we would have to use code DTV5981 and call 888-902-2405 by 10pm EST. Lucky enough my husband and I are not very trusting people when it comes to people who we can't understand, repeatedly calling our phones. It is a SCAM, I don't know how they are spoofing a number and making it show up as the DTV phone number. We called DTV ourselves and they have no record of outgoing calls being made to us.

This is the worst customer service company I've ever had to experience. My wife took off a full day of work to wait for an appointment in a 4 hour window (12pm-4pm). I received a confirmation email as well as a call in the morning saying that they'll be at my house between those times. At 12:30 I received a phone call saying that they're running a little late but will be there (automated calls). At 4:10 I get a call from my wife saying that they haven't showed so I called them. They proceeded to tell me that the'll be there soon, about 15 minutes later I get a call to reschedule for a week and a half from today!!!!!. Mind you we made this appointment 2 weeks ago so that we could request a day off to wait. They don't care about you or your scheduled, We lost over $200 in income because my wife had to *** of work and they said "sorry I don't know what happen". Good luck if you decide to go with this company and don't say you were never warned.

Moved from Nashville to Memphis but when our hook up was scheduled the tech couldn't get a signal due to the location of our patio. He called the office (we assumed) to cancel our contract and order a "call box" for our equipment. He said the box would arrive in a few days. After a month, the box had still not arrived, so I called DirecTV and asked about the box. They told me my service was still active and that no box had been ordered. I immediately canceled the service, told them about the email confirmation and sent them a copy of when the installation was to occur. They were to credit my account. He said I had a credit of $97 coming and sent me an email to that effect. I waited a month for the check. I got a statement this month for -$32.22. I called and asked why the difference. Of course, they gave me double talk of which I could not argue. Despite the email I showed him of the previous conversation promising $97, he ignored it. Next, thing I know I received a Visa card with $32.22 loaded on it, with an expiration date of 10 days. Then 2 days ago as I was checking my checking account, still in Nashville, there was a debit of $6.48 from DirecTV. When I asked them about this they said it was for a Pay Per View movie I rented 16 months ago!! No way!! We NEVER rent their expensive movies!! And WHY would they wait a year to bill us? This is their way to take even more from me. I'm on disability, a fixed income and they are a trillion dollar company. Go figure!!!

Directv - ATT destroying Direct TV Reputation

I have had Direct for years and loved them. Now that ATT took over it has been horrible. Upgraded service in May and by September my bill went up $40 increase. Old Direct always had promotions to help when this happened. ATT was very hard to work with, so I asked about the cancellation fee and they told me $200. I made other commitment for TV and called back to cancel, now it was $400. I canceled and was going to pay it out. They tacked the balance onto my internet bill and now threating to cancel the internet. I have been an ATT customer since 2003 phones, tv, internet. Apparrently they dont care about retaining customers.

Directv - The worst service we have had, in 5 years

We have had direct tv ever since we moved here 5 years ago had no problems at all until recently. You be watching a show or movie and it freeze up on you or it just goes blank. By I mean a white screen. What is wrong? I am getting to the point where I am thinking about going to Dish TV. I work long hourswhen I'm home I like toset down and watch my shows I have recorded or watch one like the Dr Maitin with out it freezing up or going to ablank screen. Is there anything you can do to fix it . If not please let me no so I can change Sadilite company sorry if I missed spelled any words.

If you want to waste many hours on the phone to resolve the simplest issue, please sign with them. Terrible customer service, ninety percent of the time they are clueless of what they are doing, they tell you that the problem has been resolved, in my case billing issues, the next billing cycle comes and the problem is still there.Direct TV has perfected the art of stealing money out of your pocket, I was charged for the Sunday NFL ticket while my account was suspended during a complete house renovation. Once the account was reinstated they renewed by account for two years because they claim that it was a new installation, crooks. If you have an alternative, stay away as far as you can, you will be miserable for two years and super stressed when you call them.
