Directv in Needham, Massachusetts - Major network out Again

It is CBS this time. It has been out all day and i do not get to watch the college football game I want. I call support and someone in the Philippines answers and has not clue what is going on. I then call Tech support and a person in OK answers. They think it is no Big Deal that they are not honoring their service commitment. The tech support person is actually arguing that we should not be complaining. She is indicating that all providers have problems and Direct TV is the best of them all. Very poor all around. Why can't I get out of this contract? It is horrible.

I had a door to door salesman convince me to switch to DIRECTV from Dish Network last summer. Mostly I switched to get the great NFL Sunday Ticket package and a better DVR. Or so I thought. First, I have one older TV, always worked fine with Dish, since it's been hooked up to DIRECTV it has not worked at all. Will not get DVR service. Still paying for the DVR to it. I tried to call twice about this but was on hold once for 45 minutes and once for 30 minutes with no answer. Then my NFL Sunday Ticket renewed, without my knowledge. I got it free the first year, no one told me I had to cancel or be charged $300. Then, after accepting that was partially my fault for not reading 'fine print,' I realized that the main channel I watched on Ticket, Red Zone wasn't included in my package, that I pay $50 a month for. This is a channel, I paid $11/mo for with Dish. Now I'm paying $50/mo and I can't even watch it. And to top it off, the channels that I watch most have started showing 771 errors and not coming on. Sunday Ticket channels, ESPN, things I always have watched. But all other channels are fine. The DIRECTV tech rep told me it was a problem with the satellite, but I would have to pay $50 for a service call. She stated it was probably the weather, like the hurricane. Are you kidding me?! It's sunny, with a cloudless sky. And I live in TX. No hurricanes in about 10 years. Dish Network never charged me for problems with their equipment. I can't wait to switch back. DIRECTV is the biggest ripoff scam in cable tv. I'm guessing they turned my channels off, just so they could charge my a service call. They should be sued. Again. They are so shady. So disgusted with this entire experience. It makes me want to quit being an at&t customer all together. Ive been with them for many years. But this experience makes me disappointed with the whole organization.

Worst service ever. DIRECTV has acknowledged my satellite isn't working properly, and informed me that I have to pay to have it repaired. Why? Dish Network never charged me when it was their equipment at fault. DIRECTV should be sued for overcharging customers for packages, support and service. I have paid over $300 for Sunday Ticket, it doesn't even include Red Zone, and half the time the channels don't even work. Get Dish Network!!! They have so much better service!!! I can't wait to go back.

I have just gotten off the phone for the 4th time with at&t. I previously called and inquired as to if I would have a penalty for dropping my directv service. I was told I would have no penalty. I called back today to discontinue the service and I was told I would have a $400+ penalty. I asked to speak to a supervisor and I was put on hold. I hung up after 20 minutes of being on hold. I called back and was told I would have a $160 penalty. I have been a directv customer for over 16 years. Since it was bought by at&t, my bill has been continually wrong and my bill has gone up over and over again. I have no idea what the actual penalty will be when I get it. I requested the formal complaint process and was told there wasn't one. Great way of handling complaints, just don't handle them. This is no way to treat a 16 year directv customer.

I have never had the same monthly bill. I spend hours on the phone arguing of what we agreed on. They will not give me local channels but i get local comercials. For every channel that has programs 5 are infomercial channels. Twice that at night.

Typical bait and switch,,when I called to cancel and they talked me into more channels for less money for an extended 6 months then come to find out quite the opposite. I called to complain that I had not received the equipment I wanted,,I was told by some guy in India that I had a renewed 2 year agreement.Luckily I have recorded all my phone conversations and am trying to present them to the BBB and the FCC,,don`t bother complaining straight to these idiots

My 2 year contract was finally up. I called DirectTV to cancel. Representative told me my new rate was $92 a month gauranteed for a year. I asked them, will all my services stay the same and the price won't change for a year, right? Yes it will stay the same for a year. BS! One month later price goes up due to one offer expiring. Then in 2 more months I lose the premium channel offer so it will go up about $25 more. Turns out it is going up almost $40 a month and now I can't get out without paying a $200.00 Early Termination Fee. DirectTV can kiss my *** I will never for the rest of my life use those deceptive snake oil sales reps!

Truly I'm so upset with how the company did me after I was a loyal subscriber for over 10 Years, they had charges on my bill that I didn't agree with that made my bill go from 120 to over 230 without my knowledge I called and they said I was the wrong one I said please just remove the charges and they no again I told them I was dropping them and without any hesitation she said okay now 550 dollars later I'm leaving directv and it's worth me having to pay to get out early!!! never will I use this company again for TV.

We just got this phone call today. Offer was that they would cut our bill in half for DIRECTV, our cell phone and internet.

For it to work we would have to pay two months in advance. He gave us a promo code and a different number to call by 10 tonight. We were not feeling right about this. I called DIRECTV and told the rep about the call and she confirmed my suspicion.

I then did a search on the phone number and found this.

As with all the others they had our account number and address. Scary
