Our Directv system was installed three months and one week ago, by Directv. Last night after work, I turn on the main set and get a message, that after a call translated into "the dish had moved"! Its on the roof - and we just don't have any big birds or low flying planes in the area. So they want to charge me fifty bucks for a tech to come out in three days ("soonest available") and reset the *** thing. I finally got them to waive the charge, and am waiting, without tv, to see how the rest of this goes.

Weve been with Directtv since 2013. Our bill keeps increasing even though we have not made any changes. We called today,3/21/16 to check on the bundles, hoping to lower our cost. After being on hold for a long time, rep said the bundles werent available in our area. So, we asked what changes could be made to lower the tv costs as bill keeps increasing. The only thing the rep would do was an offer to remove the sports channels which would lower our monthly bill by $11.00! Wow, what a way to treat an excellent long time customer. When we said we would have to look at other companies and leave directtv, he said "sorry." Didnt even care! I will tell this to everyone I know and never recommend them!!

Lied to from the beginning | Directv review from Austin, Texas

I decided against my better judgement to get direct tv and the sales rep at the AT & T store told me that I would only be in a contract for 12 months because I made it clear that I would NOT sign up for anything longer. He went ahead and signed me up for a 2 year contract and I decided to cancel my acct but was just told that I will have to pay for 17 months instead of the 5 that I thought. They will not fix what this person did. Said that it is he said she said. So they are promoting bad business practices and lying to the customer.

Why would you wait? Write them a letter outlining how they deceived you and thus you consider any "contract" null and void.

Then, tell don't pay them.

Send back any equipment, of course. Then, go elsewhere.Why pay to get scammed?

Compare your original billing statements to subsequent ones line by line, charge by charge in order to determine what charges were increased or added. This will show why you are now paying more.

If they added services you didn't agree to, etc. call and complain.

I have direct tv and at first was extremely satisfied. Satisfied to the extent that I recruited 3 others to join. However, lately I cannot watch movies at will. Instead I have to wait for them to run and record them? When I had wowway this was never the case! I am going to pay more money to wowway for the same cable HD service just so I can watch movies on demand.
