Directv - RIP OFF and POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

Agree with everything you said. I was nearing the end of my 2 year contract with Direct TV (1 month left) and wanted to transfer the service to my new residence and renew my contract. The guy on the phone (who obviously did not know what he was doing) came up with some outrageous calculation where I would have to pay almost $600.00 for the move. I told him that this was outrageous and I would not accept it. So I requested that my account be cancelled. All of a sudden, he "spoke with his manager" and I got a free move and an additional $15 knocked of my monthly bill. So I accepted this. The day they were supposed to install my new service, they did not show up. I took time out of my busy work day to be available during the window I was given. I called them that day and they said that it was on record for an installation that day but had not been scheduled. They offered me a new installation date 1 week later. At this point I was furious and asked them to cancel my account. I had to ask 5 times before they finally did it because every time I asked they tried to offer me something new. Out of principle, I refuse to do business with them ever again.

Directv in Santa Rosa, California - Unable to use my DVD recorder since the end of June, 2015

I called Direct TV and explained that starting in July, I was unable to use my DVD recorder using the HD platform. Was told by a "manager" that my HDMI cable needed to be replaced - not true. Talked with the business where I purchased my smart TV and they told me customers were calling with the same complaint. I was told that Direct TV and Comcast updated their software so customers who had signed up for the HD service could not record the programs they were interested in. I'm a senior and I don't record to resell. Shame on you Direct TV and I'm glad to read about other customers who think you stink! Do you get a kick out of cheating your customers?

switched over from cable less than 60 days ago. have had 3 tec's here.#4 tec is coming tomorrow. every time they said they fixed problem.ha! are you kidding me? I made a HUGE MISTAKE switching to thisdirect tv. like I said, call I 800 GOT JUNK because that's what u getmy wife has to miss work to be here for 4 hr. window if they can make it. nothing like coming home and try to watch a movie andlose connection. 12 times today so far and today #3 tec was here.AND I'M PAYING FOR THIS SO CALLED BULL#$%^customer service is fair {just doing there job} Very disappointedwith this company. don't make the same mistake I did.YOUR ADVERTIZING is a joke. never had a problem with cable, ever!I will follow up with results after #4 comes tomorrow. 3 g

You know that every company has technical issues at one point, your just an arrogant *** that thinks the world revolves around them, suck it up make your appointment for a day that you or your wife can *** so not to miss work ask them for cred for non working receivers and missed work credit form ID-10t

Well if you want part of your money back you can send in pay stubs and they can reimburse you for the time off (after the 2nd service call) just tell them you in reimbursement from ID-10T to be filled out

I was not refunded my money after canceling in 24 hours. They said I signed up with a special promotions so I don't get a refund. That is not in the contract that was emailed to me nor by the customer service. Person. I feel like I was ripped off!!!!

Directv in Jeffersonville, Indiana - Lies about just about everything

Stations that I received were mostly sales channels, I quite counting after 90 channels but out of that 90---38 were sales channels (which if they were honest they wouldn't charge for anyway). Very few stations I received were actually entertainment channels. And when they tell you they do not duplicate channels, they are again being dishonest. It was also a lie when I was told there was no contract. It's a lie when they say you receive emergency data. Not once did I receive weather warnings and I thought that was legally necessary. All I wanted was what I was promised and instead I got the "You know what". All I wanted was what was promised, instead I received an outrageous bill because I had canceled service.

No you received a perfectly reasonable bill based on the CONTRACT you signed, rain disrupts satellite signals that is physics unless you want a 6 foot dish so it will work in a storm, you cry about the channels why didn't you pick up a channel guide and see what you would get, your crying like a child but didn't take the time to read your legally binding agreement or see what package. If this is too difficult to understand maybe you should consider getting someone to handle your money for you because you're clearly not able to be responsible for your own finances

I paided for 3direct tv boxes on the phone before anything more then a month later they came out to my house with 1 box. So then I had to wait another week or so because of there mistake. Whenever they finally came back again same problem. Do they not know how to count to 3? Yes, I was charged for 3. Anyways the whole reason we decided to get direct is cuz my passing father could watch it like he wanted to. I spoke to managers told them what was goin on she acted as if there was nothing she could do but put me on a priority list that they will call when someone cancels. U have to answer though. Im pissy cuz my father didnt get to watch not 1 freaking show like he wanted before he died!!!! Hella pissy! Kristina Rodriguez

They tried to cheat me I would always get different answers from costermer service I would get bills for 356$ then I'd call and they'd tell me that they never sent out a bill for that amount.they added and changed thing on my service package all in a year of service...

The cost is horrendous... and the last straw was the invasion of my privacy and total disregard for it... while looking for some nasty x-rated stuff. After I request a service call an employee by the name of Brandon arrived. I asked to see his ID. I found out that he was from Brazil and half Chinese. I didn't have a problem with his ethnicity, just the fact that a non-American coming to my house to troubleshoot a problem. In this day and age who can be trusted?. I only wanted American Citizens to service my needs. What the *** is (Dirtv) up too?

Directv in Milpitas, California - Attempt to remove ONLY the regional sports package from my monthly billing

Called customer service and was pleased with the patience of the person taking my call. This is the second time I have attempted removing an option from my billing - The Regional Sports Fee - which I never requested to be added to my billing. Perhaps my error was in letting it remain on my billing after the first unsuccessful call to Directv Customer Service. The convoluted process to remove this option would mean revising my current Total Choice and HBO and Showtime packages, etc. - something I do not wish to do. Therefore. until I can find a better option, I will continue to pay the $3.63 monthly for the Regional Sports Fee.

The regional sports fee is on all base packs besides family select entertainment and preferred xtra it's bc those packs don't have regional sports on them

Directv in Mcallen, Texas - They lie when you cancel their service.

In mid January, we cancelled our service with Direct TV and requested boxes to return the equipment. "Don't worry about it. You can keep it," they told us.  We still asked to have boxes to return and was not sent anything. All of a sudden I get a collection notice for $500.00+. We called again to request boxes to return their equipment. It was sent this time, but before we could get it in the mail, they dinged my credit. Needless to say, I am not happy. Their equipment is in the mail, but my credit is in the crapper. Great company to do business with!!!

They have the power to remove that from your credit. However, it will take a lot of arguing on the phone for hours and demanding a supervisor then waiting on hold for hours.. Good luck and hope that it goes in your favor.
