Direct TV Sucks!
I signed up for Direct TV. They are a scam. They will lie to you and charge you all kinds of money that you don't agree to. They pull money out of your account when ever they feel like it. My salesman told me not to worry about the rebates and that he would take care of it all. this is not true. My bill should of been 58.00 and they took 90.00 out of my account without asking. Every one you talk to you will get a different answer. Do not go with Direct TV. Also they ran wires all over my house and did not even hide them. Its looks trashy.

Refusal to give me the closest channels
1)Feb. 2011 Saw an offer, ordered Direct TV & received Orlando, FL stations upon request -- great! 2)Apr. 2011 transfer to MI -- all went well. (Bill To address=White Lake, MI 48383) 3)Nov. 2011 return to Haines City, FL 33844 (same address as Feb.) and Direct TV refuses to give me the Orlando, FL channels. We live 22 miles from Orlando, FL and 55 miles from Tampa, FL. Tampa is on the west coast of FL creating different weather, traffic, news, etc. than Central FL. Not a happy or satisfied customer as a result of this. Jerry Butler #3718****

DirectTV- Early cancellation fee
I am a senior citizen who has been laid off from my job and have been unable to find work. Needless to say my family is living a very tight budget. I have been a DirectYV customer for over 15 years. I recently attempted to reduce my DirectTV bill only to be told twice that this was not possible. I then went to a competitor for lot less. When I called to cancel my DirectTV account I was offered a price which was considerable less . I told them that I had my new system set up. I was then told that there would be a $300.00( 15 months at $$20 per month) cancellation fee. I was totally shocked as this had not been previously explained to me. I went back thru my records and could find nothing in writing from DirectTV stating this policy. I later spoke with a supervisor explaining my financial situation plus the fact that this had not been explained to me and was told that this was the policy and there was nothing that could be done to waive this charge. Having been a loyal customer for 15 years I am shoched at his treatment. In addition being a senior citizen who is unable to find work I was shocked at his callousness. Beware of this scam. Don't let this happen to you.

Direct Tv lied to me about my service package.
What a bunch of no good mis-leading thieves!! What was represented to me was NOT what I'm getting. I was told I was getting a 24 month fixed contract. low and behold when I got my first bill it was only for 12 months fixed and the HBO package was only for 3 months. I'd like to catch up with the fast talking gal that slurred her words so bad I had to keep asking her to repeat what she was saying. I asked for confirmation by email for all the promises she was making, oh no she said, We do this over the phone, they don't send emails. Now I know why! WOW!! I'd like to peel someones face off. I hate being lied to and I hate being ripped off!! I'm stuck now because they want 480 bucks if I cancel. And then to top it all off,, It took 45 minutes of going in circles to talk to some rude obnoxious woman to get this valuable information. WOW!!!

Direct TV
Wow, after considering and reading all the comments concerning Direct TV, I have come to the conclusion that 90% of the complaints cannot spell and have no idea how to use spell check. Not a lot more to say, but reviewing these comments, etc., since I am considering switching from AT&T U-verse to Direct TV. I currently have AT&T U-verse U-300 TV, 18 Mbps high speed internet and unlimited national phone service with all the extras. Too bad I have to say that after only 2 1/2 months of service, the operational reliability is poor at best.

Will not send a technician out to service my dish.
On October 19, 2011 at approximately 3:15 my satellite dish started losing its signal. I talked with a Representative and I was walked through step after step. The end result, I don't have any service. I guess if your satellite is not getting a signal, DirecTv doesn't feel that is of urgency but will put you on the calendar for Friday, October 21, 2011 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. I'm sorry but in my opinion I would like to have my service now. I have been a valued customer for many years, I have talked family and friends to try your service but lately I have been extremely frustrated with the service. There's no bad weather, just a little wind but not enough to lose service. I want this issue rectified asap and no more excuses.

Quoted cancellation fee of $120 and then billed me for $280
We needed to cancel our service because of a medical issue. When I set up the cancellation the Direct TV representative told me the cancellation would be $120 and that if I did not pay when the bill was due they would send it to collections. I said I always pay my bills and would pay the $120 fee. When the bill came, the fee was $280. When I called to complain they said the representative misinformed me and that I owed $280. I repeated that I was quoted $120 and was prepared to pay that. I said paying more felt like fraud. Furthermore they said there was no one else I could talk with about this matter. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and writing the head of the company.

Directv will not remove dish from premises
Directv has a policy of not removing satellite dishes from the premises. The installer was updating equipment in my home and decided to change to a newer dish, not requested by me and didn't ask first, either. Then this big piece of trash is left on the ground for me to dispose of. I then found out that even if the consumer changes providers, Directv refuses to remove the dish. At apartment houses, many owners are refusing to provide Directv service because all the old dishes remain on the premises. this is an incredibly un-consumer oriented policy, and I want to see it stopped, company-wide. I am also reporting to the state consumer organization. I had to pay to have this hauled to the dump- unacceptable!

Directv is a joke
I spend $140.00 a month for the NFL game ticket and my regular channels and Directv takes takes and takes then they act like "we are doing this for our customers". ***! FX has some of the best shows on tv and they want to take that from us who work hard for our money to pay Directv to give us the best product on tv. Sons of Anarchy and It's always sunny in phil. is FANTASTIC and yet people who pay $25 through local cable can watch this and we can't? Directv customer service is terrible and I laugh everytime I see their commercial stating them as #1 in customer service. The NFL game ticket is the only thing directv has going for them and they kind of cornered the market on that. If they drop FX I will most be leaving directv once my commitment with them is up.

Ripped off like the others, lying company!!
I threatened Direct TV's customer service with a Pissed consumer review but when I got here I almost changed my mind, many have already experienced the same. Anyway, like others, I signed up for basic U.S. and Tagalog programming for my wife. U.S. programming was required to get the international. Sure enough my free movie channels that I never once tuned in expired and I was hit hard for them. I called and had them removed. After some time my rebates expired and they nailed me again. I called and reduced my U.S. programming to minimum to retain my wife's shows affordably. I was quoted $56.98 monthly. Lo and behold, the bill came in, it was $66.05 a month. They are tricky liars and I will switch away 1st chance I get. For now I am stuck. It seems that a company that wants to retain their customer base would not trick people like that. What does it cost them to leave a switch turned on and prices consistent to keep happy customers?

NFL Sunday Ticket scam
I asked to non-renew the NFL Sunday ticket way before the lock out. I was told by two reps this was done. I got my bill the non-renewed for the next season and not the current. A lying supervisor named Valerie said she would take care of it but did not. After 4 calls it's finally done. They can give the package away free. We should get the same deal. Two co-workers called and got their package free. I was told you had to have had the NFL ticket for 10 years. Neither of them did.

DirectTV unprofessional, lying idiots
Please do not call DIRECT TV for service, they will lie to you about the pricing and what you are getting, the day of the install, they tried to charge me additional $199 for one DVR box, they will upsell you packages promising all this and that, and you get none of it.If you get a flyer in the mail from them about their "great" specials, it's all BS, they will not honor any of it and try to stick you with crazy additional costs! I have spent literally 4 and a half hours trying to resolve the issue, after speaking with one supervisor, I thought my problem was solved even if i had to pay extra for what i needed, when i called back they did not honor any of what that supervisor promised me, after I specifically asked to make sure all of was in their notes. The 2nd supervisor ( Josh Id#55442), tried to charge me additional fees for the stuff that is clearly stated in their flyer comes for free! I am a level headed person, but I was in tears literally after speaking with him. And I am yet to see a refund on my credit card that they charged when I initially set up the service! They are complete and total crooks, you will not get not even a good but a mediocre customer service, it is the worst company in every aspect! Save your time and money and nerves!

Direct t.v. gave me an extension on by bill to pay then lied to me about that claim .
I have an account with Direct T.v. I called on Nov 16th to make payment arrangements.
I spoke with a rep. The rep gave me until Nov 30,2011 to pay the past due of $173.00 dollars. I asked to pay my bill on this date since it is the date that I get my Veteran's benfit check. My service was tempary suspended today on Nov 18th 2011 early this morning.
I called Direct T.V. and eventhough they say they record our phone calls they wouldn't turn my account on without a payment.
Good customer service. Yea right!!!

Well I don't have a problem at all with spelling, but I do have a problem with DTV LYING to me about having local channels by the end of the year. That's the ONLY reason we signed up to begin with.
We signed up in April. We were promised our local channels by the end of the year for sure. Well last night I had to call about another problem ONCE again so I decided to ask the lady I was talking to about it. And she informed me that they aren't even in negotiations anymore.
A deal just couldn't be reached. And now they want to be upset because we want out of our contract??? But for anyone that is going through the same thing; seems the BBB is very much on the consumers side. I wouldn't be upset having to pay cancellation fees if I felt I owed them.
I have paid them before for switching from AT&T to Verizon. And I didn't even try to get out of them. I owed them. But in this case; they knew this was the ONLY reason we were signing with Direct.
And these people just out right lied so they could pick up ONE more customer.
It's not like they were going to go broke if they didn't have my business. This is definitely not a good way to run a business.
Spellcheck, is THAT what those little red squiggly lines are for??? I thought they were just pretty things for me to look at while I destroy the English language.
