Was on hold for 3 hours, hung up on 6 times, fraudulently charged $1000.00+ which was admitted to and recorded by all party's knowledge as you did too, spoke to 5 mgrs (have all names) 2nd to the last mgr approved reversal of fraud charge with Bank Rep. listening but then disconnected when three way connecting to Bank Rep.to give her the info. only to get another Mgr who said they are not reseversing fraudualent chrg to then also hang up!!!? I will add or post regcording as soon as I put it on my phone to upload but believe it won't just be uploaded here!!!

How is it fraud, did someone steal your card? Or did you have a balance on your account when you canceled service and they charge your card if that's the case then it is not fraud

Directv in Ocala, Florida - Billing issue with Direct TV

I have been on hold and transferred over 7 times and have been on the phone for over 1hour and 53 minutes to dispute a charge of $78.01 that I paid on or before March 16, 2013. I received a call from a collection agency last week who said it was on my credit report. I checked it is listed there and because the bank account I used and have since closed and cannot access the records I HAVE TO PAY IT AGAIN! So glad I no longer use Direct TV and I will make it one of my life's missions to inform everyone I can regarding this typically billing practice from businesses and they wonder why I won't renew my service.

So it's their fault YOU don't have proof, here's a secret just because the account is closed doesn't mean that the records can be requested just means effort on your part

I have been with Direct TV for 1 year (have a 2 year contract). My bill has gone from $90+ to $200+ for exactly the same service. Direct TV competitors told me that I would be very unhappy and that Direct TV would get me hooked and then raise their prices per the fine print of the contract and their competitors were totally correct. The most recent disappointment is lack of timely service. My system went total down on a Thursday morning and I was told that the earliest they could get a service rep out would be Sunday. To add insult to injury, I was told that there would be a $50 service call, regardless of the cause of the problem, even if the problem was caused by their equipment. I have also been charged for movies that were never ordered and was told that their records are correct and the only option was to pay. Bottom line is that I would never recommend Direct TV. Direct TV a profit driven company with no regard for their customers. David Bodewin

All my movie channels have been off for 2 days... I call CS and ask what's up... they first deny it... then admit they are doing maintenance for over a week on the movie channels... I said ok... the only reason I pay for Direct TV is the movies so just credit my account for the 25% of the month that you failed to provide the services I paid for - the lady said nope... I've been with the knuckleheads over a decade... I'm done with them!

We should file a CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT: If you sign a contract and hold up your end of it by paying your bill promptly every month, I think is it a reasonable expectation that the other party (Direct TV) provides you with the service you are paying for. The inability to provide access to on demand program is unacceptable. On demand means I watch the when I want to watch it, not needing to record it and watch it later! It NEVER works! DIRECT TV is horrible, and I think we as consumers should not tolerate it! They want you to pay to cancel a contract that they are not living up to!

Class action for a free service, if you don't like the on demand don't use it or get a better ISP, but look I'm I a good mood today I will send out a company wide email telling agents that anyone who mention this site to refund all the money paid for this free service

I expect to get what I pay for, and not to be obligated to pay for a service that is not meeting what is advertised! That is just bad business, and I am serious the consumers should file a law suit.

I have paid for sub-par service, but only asking to be released from my contract without penalty.

I was told by Direct TV that with a two year contract I will get Genie DVR, 3 months of HBO and Showtime, 12 months of NFL Sunday Ticket. Now I'm told that these were verbal promise from a sales agent to me over the phone so Direct TV do not have to honor it. I will have to keep the two-year contract and there's nothing I can do about it. This is so unfair and not right. I have contact Direct so many time about this issue that now, they just give me the run around. They will give the excuse to hold the line for a supervisor. I have waited hours and no one would pick up the line. I filed a complaint with BBB and still waiting for their answer.

I have called and complained about my box shutting off by itself and no help just keep getting asked if I did the trouble shooting and still no help I pay my bill and still no help and I have to pay to have a new box not right the customer makes the business and no one cares I have been with direct tv for more than a year this is my last year as soon as my lease is up and will never get them again

It sounds like that they are not making you pay for a new receiver just making you pay for the shipping to send you a replacement now you do have the option of getting protection plan for $7.99/a month and then you will not have to pay for shipping or service calls but if you decline to pay for the replacement then you forfeited your right to complain because you declined to solve the issue

Sounds like you have the same box that I have.If so you do not need a new box you need to re-program your box so it will not be in Energy Saver Mode.My box is programmed to shut down when not in use for a certain period of time.This is called Energy Saver Mode.Before your box shuts down you should get a message across your screen that your box is getting ready to shut down because of non use for an extended period of time.It will show you the Cancel or Re-Program your box to not shut message.All you have to do is either Cancel the shut down mode or Change the setting on your box from the Energy Saver Mode to the Constant View Mode.You can follow simple instructions right?

Directv - Direct TV deceptitive pricing practices

After receiving a phone call from a Direct TV rep, I agreed to a 12 month plan at a specific price. When I got my bill the price was higher than I agreed to. I called Direct TV and was told there was nothing they could do. I cancelled my service because they changed the terms of the agreement and they billed my credit card $104.00 for early cancellation. Direct TV uses deceptive pricing practices to get people to sign up for there service. I will be filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and I strongly suggest others do the same.
