Directv in Stone Mountain, Georgia - Unacceptable monthly increase

I had direct tv for a year and the monthly costs have been stable. after the 12 months my monthly instalment increased from around $97 per month to $116. Then this month it went up to over $147 . I am bound by another 12 months without having a choice but to pay. This is nothing but theft and misleading, as they did not indicate my installments would increase by 100 % after 12 months. When I phoned them they indicated that they can not do anything regarding my complaint, hence they do not care about their customer once they have the 24 month contract.

You probably need to switch to the Genie.I did so and It is great.I have the 285+channels plus.I can record and Watch in each room that I have.Even before I switched to the Genie I got 285+ channels and their where good movies on all of my channels.X-Rated movies are only shown late at note when kids are suppose to be asleep.Also you can void the movies that you do not wish your kids to watch.You have to monitor the shows that your kids watch.Kids will be kids so that concern is yours to monitor your kids and What they can and Cannot watch not DirecTV's.Do not place blame on someone else for what is your job to do.You can alway's switch companies but the effect will be the same.You go DirecTV.Keep up the good work.I am 65 years of age and DirecTV always has shows that are suitable for the older customers.Maybe you need to scan more channels to find the shows that you like to watch.Know company can please everyone know matter what.

Details
Decided to get direcTV bundle after Charter informed me I'd need different brackets for wall-mounted TVs. Knew Direct required no special shelving for each & every TV. (I think Charter has upgraded their installation services since.) The "introductory" price was $29.95. I have NO IDEA what one gets for that, but decided on the "medium" price of $59.95 which would still be a savings. Now the 1st four months' bills have averaged $192/month. I call each month & get no good reasons, much less any refund or credit. I am a reasonably intelligent woman & find myself so frustrated with helpless feelings. Have I no options but to stick with this price-gouging 2 year contract or pay a penalty to cancel? Help!

In order to receive the $100.00 credit.You must give the account number of the person who referred you before you proceed with your order OK.Everyone is aware of this even you yourself.Because you forgot to do so this is your fault not DirecTV's fault.You cannot call back later and Try to correct your error OK.Crying is not going to get you anywhere.Their are Rules and Everyone must follow them even you.So stop your Whinning and Move on.If these people make an Exception for you,They will have to make an Exception for everyone and They will not do that under any circumstances.Being angry will only run your Blood Pressure Up.Sorry this is your Mistake.

Trash on most channels for allowing x rated products being sold . Movies are played over and over again. Too many reality shows that aren't worth watching. Not being able to be vocal about such garbage. If the programming had a variety of family shows and good classic movies and old westerns to be more for people that are at home to watch, instead of trying to get a base of younger (teens) to watch. The 30 to 60+ year olds are paying for NOTHING OF INTEREST. Get with it and make us at least enjoy Direct TV. Be aware of US

I called because I realized I didn't receive credit for signing up with Directv. I spoke with 2 agents and then asked for the manager. I said I didn't give account #to whoever signed me up. I admitted my mistake but was told I was too late to do anything about it. I asked if he could so anything for me a all and I was put in the category with scammers and liars. This really upset me because I wasn't scamming I just wanted my $100 dollars credit like all the others. By the time I was done arguing with him I was in tears and hung up. I would think a company with ++++customer satisfaction rating would be able to help in some way. Even a couple movie tickets would have been something! I got nothing but lip service. VERY ANGRY IN MN.

I got direct tv because of the free install and everything was good for a few months. I said NO SPORTS PACKAGES right from the start. They make you pay through your credit card and your locked into their contract for 2 years. I was being billed for 6 months (136.00 when my bill was suspose to be 60.00) because they said they sent me a email (which im with them too and I don't even get service half the time) and since I didn't respond to it they ASSUMED I wanted the package. I said " who does that? You call and get your service upgraded if you want something." I have at least 2 people in my area that have dealt with this scam and others I have read about. I can't wait to go back to Comcast. They were alittle more expensive but not once did I ever have a problem with my service or betrayed by them with my bill.

Direct TV has been unclear about so many things. Their 4 room deal for one. When the technician came out to install he told me when i got ready for my third receiver to call them and they'll bring it out for me. I did. They wanted to charge me $125. They also Didn't make it clear that I Was in a contract. And what I believed was a deposit was accually a FEE. They also raised my fee for the protection plan from $7.99 to $19.99 without my authorization. They pretty much screwed me every way they could. They should be stopped.

Prior to tonight, I had a positive attitude toward Direct TV. No more. After attempting to watch my local CBS station @ 8pm, the signal kept dropping off to the point it was unwatchable. Attempts to resolve the matter by going on-line were completely unsuccessful. Attempts via the 1-800 phone number were equally unsuccessful. Try speaking with an actual HUMAN BEING- a snowball's chance in ***. I hope who ever thought an automated phone answering customer service was a good idea is now working in the fast food industry, because they are an ***. It only saves Direct Tv money and provides no useful service.

Directv in Dover, Tennessee - Ant get channel because I was sent the wrong receiver type.

I recently downgraded to get rid of HD TV (not worth it and I have been injured and have been cutting costs) and was sent a receiver that does not get all the channels in the package. Of course there is nothing they can do so I have to wait a year to get a receiver that can, maybe if they send the right one again. They said they would try and find one but no guarantee, yeah right. So we cannot watch FSTV that I contribute to and is the only real channel out there, because they sent a receiver that cant get it. If you get a receiver you need to make sure they send you one that can get all the channels you are paying for in the package you are paying for. Oh, and they said they dont guarantee that you will be able to view all the channels if you dont have the right equipment....so thats what that means.
