Directv in Ventura, California - MISLEADING DECEPTIVE

Contacted DIRECTV Friday evening 1/9/2015. My son was unable to watch recorded programs. He was getting a red circle next to programs recorded stating unable to play due to some sort of conflict with a DVR in another room. No one else was home watching TV. I had this problem before and DIRCTV sent me additional DVR’s at my cost to solve the problem, it did not. Contacted DIRECTV, specifically told the DIRECTV representative I wanted the latest equipment to solve this problem without any additional cost or a new contract. I informed him if unable to do so to please transfer me to the department to cancel my service. Representative informed me he was sending me new genies to solve my problem. He stated he needed to transfer me to a department to confirm the order. Transferred, other representative told me conversation was being recorded and explained same details about new equipment being sent to me. Right at the end of the conversation the representative stated this would begin a new 24 month contract. I immediately stated I did not agree to a contract extension and I had been very specific with the first representative. I then ask to be transferred to cancellation department. After several minutes of arguing about being transferred representative stated unable to do so. Later stated not allowed to. I then ask which is it. Unable or not allowed. Rep stated not allowed to. I ask to speak to supervisor. Supervisor (Karen, # 715938) stated not allowed to transfer me until I agree to the order I made with the first representative. I stated you have got to be kidding, I’m not agreeing to any order I did not agree to. Representative kept insisting I agree to order, then contact them once order arrives to return and cancel. I inform the supervisor she was an *** and hung up. I called back ask for cancellation department and scheduled my cancellation for later in the month when my billing cycle ended. Bunch of unprofessional people, having a process in place to make it difficult for subscribers to cancel. I will contact the appropriated agencies to file a complaint.

Directv in Auburn, Maine - Weather channel not on directtv

I cancelled direct tv and switched to cable when the weather channel was off for about 3 weeks. I keep getting letters asking me to sign up again for direct tv. however I see that direct tv is going to eliminate the weather channel again. I will not go back to direct tv as I want the weather channel every day. do not send me any more mail to go back to direct tv. I think it is time for direct tv to send a poll questionnaire for all directv customers to determine what channels direct tv customers are most interested in.

Didn't have to pay a lot for whole home dvr (Genie), I have been a customer with DirecTv for 6 years. 2012 I decided to get the whole - home dvr, was not charged for installation or equipment.

The Genie and mini Genies are rentals, they charge $7 each I have 4 minis and the main dvr and they waive the first dvr. Right now with my programming I pay $99/month and happy.

the refund cards show debit but you must process it as credit.. cause it is a signature basic debit card...read the Q&A for the card it tells you that..

Directv - Cancellation Fee Review from Marionville, Missouri

Direct TV supervisor very professional listened to our issue, tried to help us but couldn't then waived our cancellation fee. We were on speaker phone and our whole family was listening. When we later called to cancel direct said they could not locate notes or supervisor we spoke with. Could not believe what we were hearing! Long time customer. Spent tons of money with direct tv. Directv in Edmond, Oklahoma - Refer a friend

Even though I was with Cox right before switching back to DirecTV, and my son convinced me that DirecTV was better, so I switched back, they refused to give him any kind of credit, which was supposed to be $100 for "Refer a Friend" becuase I hadn't been "gone" from the service for 2 years. We had DirecTV when we lived in Ohio, so that disqualified him from the referral. As usual, nothing is mentioned in the large print, or small, as far as I know, about any of this. They purposely mislead, misguide, and take advantage of their customers. I will never refer anyone to DirecTV!

All afternoon on the 11th movie channels

Showing regular tv like ion television on movie channels and this was happening on the encore channel which we pay for. WTF! You wonder why people dont want to do business with you *** poor!

Directv in Carrollton, Georgia - Direct Tv is very misleading.

My wife and I changed from Dish to Direct, because we thought they were going to be cheaper. The plan that we choose was a lot cheaper with just as much coverage, we thought. We could not get any of the on demand channels that we were told we could get. They said we could pick from 10,000 movies. Every movie we went to was paid preview movies. So that is a rip off. Now we are struck with Direct TV until our contract runs out, but we will never go with Direct TV again when we get out of this.

My experience with this company was a nightmare from day1, Two installers were sent to my home to install the equipment, neither spoke English. A few days later I noticed my video camera missing from the area they were working in. The installers didn't even work for Direct Tv they were third party contactors, and finding this out was not an easy task. Long story short, I contacted the third party contactors, made a police report. Shortly after, two Hispanic men showed up at my house trying to get me to drop the charges. Being a single female this was a bit scary. Despite their attempt to intimidate me I did not drop the charges, the company sent me a check refunding me for the camera. However, the memories of my children's high school graduations can not be replaced! I then canceled my service, returned the equipment with a $0 balance. One year later my banks fraud department contacted me to say that Direct TV had attempted to pull $300.00 from my bank account. They were never authorized to pull from my account or to store my information. I had to cancel my account and open a new one, they have ruined my credit and attempted to steal from me a second time..Direct TV! Thief's!

fraud, attempting to pulling funds from my account w/o authorization. Reporting negitive information on my credit report.
Preferred solution
Remove any negitive information from all credit reporting companys. Cease collection from outside collection agencys. Attempting to pull from an account without prior authorization is illegal!
