My experience with this company was a nightmare from day1, Two installers were sent to my home to install the equipment, neither spoke English. A few days later I noticed my video camera missing from the area they were working in. The installers didn't even work for Direct Tv they were third party contactors, and finding this out was not an easy task. Long story short, I contacted the third party contactors, made a police report. Shortly after, two Hispanic men showed up at my house trying to get me to drop the charges. Being a single female this was a bit scary. Despite their attempt to intimidate me I did not drop the charges, the company sent me a check refunding me for the camera. However, the memories of my children's high school graduations can not be replaced! I then canceled my service, returned the equipment with a $0 balance. One year later my banks fraud department contacted me to say that Direct TV had attempted to pull $300.00 from my bank account. They were never authorized to pull from my account or to store my information. I had to cancel my account and open a new one, they have ruined my credit and attempted to steal from me a second time..Direct TV! Thief's!

fraud, attempting to pulling funds from my account w/o authorization. Reporting negitive information on my credit report.
Preferred solution
Remove any negitive information from all credit reporting companys. Cease collection from outside collection agencys. Attempting to pull from an account without prior authorization is illegal!

I called to get my service moved to my new house I was told I could get my fees waved after the runaround I was told I couldn't so I waited calling back later a rep waved my fees and set me up with a cheaper plan I called back later that night in doing this I found out I was lied to she signed me up for a more expensive package and when I asked to talk to somebody in management they refused to connect me or give me a number so I could call myself

I've been a directv customer since 2012 on a verizon package and autopay my bill, my credit card number changed because of being lost and payment was rejected because I did not update the payment records, suddenly since I received a paper bill I took the time to look and notice I am billed for nfl 39.99 a month, after calling directv I am notified its been billed for two years now, claim its put on free and if I don't ask to remove it then they bill for it,they claim its too late to cancel and refused to refund.

Well I guess next time you'll pay more attention to your bill huh... And I guess next time you won't choose dtv.

Maybe if you were smart and caught the very first 39.99 charge, error would have been corrected and refunded.

No one is going to refunded you 2 years worth of nfl Sunday ticket. LOOK AT YOUR BILL MONTHLY PAY ATTENTION TO WHERE TF YOUR MONEY IS GOING , good day sir.

Directv in San Antonio, Texas - Dont make this mistake

I ordered service and was told that I did not need to pay a deposit or anything else. I went on-line to start the process and at the end of the process I was given a start date. The next day I went on-line to check to see if everything was still taken care of. At that point I noticed that day had changed. I then called them back and was told they could not find my information. I then had to allow them to do another credit check which I was not happy about at all. I was then told that I had to pay a 300.00 fee and service will be scheduled. I had to give a credit card number at the beginning of the call to verify my ID. I was then informed that service will start in two days. Once I looked on-line I noticed that they had taken the 300.00 out of my account. I called them back and was told that they would take 7 days to refund me my money back. i then informed them that I would need that money back into the account ASAP and was told that it would still take 7 days. I was then transferred ten times and placed on a cold hold as well as laughed at and informed that there was not anything else they could do. I called my financial inst. and was told that it is not hard for them to refund the money all they would need to do is send a letter on their letter head and include the simple account info that they billed. I then called them back spoke with several agents that informed me that they could not do anything else for me and i would have to wait the 7 day period. i advised them that I am moving into a new home and need the funds returned back to my account. I was then asked why would I cancel my service if I am moving into new home .I informed them that I am glad that I do not have service with them because this is horrible customer service.

When i sighned up for your service it was to save money. I told your person thati do not want sports so dont add it since i wouldnt remember to cancel it. I have been paying my bill on time for whatever you charge me and complaining to my family abouthow it is getting veryexpensive. Well i finaly read my bill and you havebeencharging me vor the nfl sports that i dont want. Whn i called it too 28 minutes to get itcanceled and you only would refund1/2 my money. This is a scam for you to keep and cheat your customers. How do you expect to keep your customer with service like this?

How is you not having NBC dtv being greedy, dtv goes through contract negotiations yearly with providers because providers love to try and raise the cost for their channels and dtv tries their best to keep the cost down so sometimes contract negotiations can be lengthy but it's something that has to happen... Don't you get it? ***?

We pay for service from direct tv and they do not deliver all the channels we are paying for. If direct tv can not settle their contract disputes it should not affect the consumer who is paying for the product. We have the right to receive all the channels we pay for all of the time, or direct tv should not bill us for the entire lineup when it is not available.

OK let's talk about the service, DirecTV does not pull the feed the owner of the content has the master off and on switch if they turn off the feed as is their right how is that directv's fault? It would be like getting mad at the fire dept when they can not put out you're burning house because the city tuned off the water on your side of town if you want to contact the provider and ask them why should DirecTV or any provider pay you more for something you already give free to the local area anyway

Directv in Salem, Oregon - Charged for NFL channel without authorization

I have been charged for the NFL channel without ever authorizing the change to my account. I do receive regular sales calls from Direct TV offering extra services and I always start the conversation with I do not want any extra channels or charges on my account thank you and they hang up. But I had the NFL packaged somehow added to the account in July of 2014 and after repeated calls to customer service I have not been able to get it removed. I finally cancelled service. When I originally called for the service I was transferred to the sales supervisor who informed me of the call being recorded and he explained in detail what would be included, but when I inquire about the monthly charges I am told there is no recorded conversation.

I just found out directv has been billing me for nfl package (unauthorized) for two years now, I am not a football fan and am attempting to file complaints with any administration that will listen.

File a complaint with the FTC. They do keep records on every major company and governing agencies and the US congress

can come down hard. Also when legal experts see there are many complaints a class action lawsuite will follow.
