Directv in South Toms River, New Jersey - Service people did not do their job properly now want to charge me to come back out for a second service call

Yet again last week, I had to have a repair man come and fix my issues with their faulty equipment. To my amazement I was apparently put into a "high risk" category because of how many times they have to come to home to address THEIR faulty equipment. At this time I advised them that I am paying for a box that is never used due to its location in my home and that i wanted the outlet moved into my new home office so that I can use the equipment that I am paying for. I wanted a certain repairman to come to my home being I am agoraphobic and and very comfortable with him, I was told even though his service area that I could not have him because they have to send out someone who is trained to work on high risk accounts. So anyway knowing my issues with letting strangers into my home not only did they send 1 stranger but they sent 2 strangers. After telling them that I would be putting a TV in my office a wire was ran for me to do so, however I did not realize at the time that they only put in a wire that is approximately one foot long and it comes out of the wall right in front of a chair that cannot be moved to put the TV their. So the TV is still unusable. So I call DIRECTV and I am told that it will cost me a service call to get them to come back out and put the wire where it should have been in the first place or I can go buy the wire at a local hardware store at MY COST. So they don't do their job right and the customer has to pay?? So I am finally fed up with paying for a unit that I cannot use and I was told that she would not send me a label to mail it back to them because I could not get into the room where it currently is so she can disable the box. UNBELIVABLE. Another complaint is after I complained about being put into this "high risk" category I was told a manager would have to call me back before they could even send someone out. Well he called back with 15 minutes, wanted me to waste my time running the same programs that the original phone tech did for 45 minutes and then the day after my service call when he called me back run some more tests, I told him it was very inconvenient for me being I work from home and it was not a good time, he didnt tell me to run the tests on the main box not the one that was replaced so I had to do the test all over again. Then not even 30 minutes after speaking with him another supervisor was knocking on my door unannounced to see how things went and wanted to check out the equipment...DIRECTV has very poor customer satisfaction in my book, especially when you have to pay for THIER MISTAKE!!!!!!!!

Ive had direct tv for 8 mos told my first yr would be 85.77 a month my bill had never been that amount I've made 15 calls in 8 months I'm going to cxl and refuse to pay to Cxl. They broke their end of the contract

Cancel them while you can! They are horrible!

I've been stuck in a contract with them for about 2 years and they have done nothing but TRIPLE my fees for the same package Ive have all along, forget to add credits that they promise to add, and add credits when I loose service due to bad weather or due to a cloud in the sky when it happens for weeks at a time it gets old!

This month my bill was supposed to be $40, they charged me $87 and change! And of course the previous rep didn't notate the account properly. How irronic is that?

My issue is I can't get any other cable service due to my location. Verizon does not service my state (except for cell), Comcast wants me to pay to have wires run 3 miles down the road, and Dish is just as bad as DirecTV.

Oh and to top it off, DirecTV hired a bogas company (A WHOLE NEW EXPERIENCE) to market their services and to do the install.... its not even a legal company!

I called the state regarding issues with this company when DirecTV sent them out to install and drop off equipment. They aren't even a licensed company in this state! And here I trusted DirecTV to send a hired 3rd party company to come into my home and "run lines" and set up boxes.

Haha joke was on me.

Best of luck with this scam of a business!

Directv in Grandville, Michigan - Directtv stole my money

I have sold Directtv since 1998 and been relatively successful. After submitting a customer's information an old bill turned up and the customer was asked to call a 800 phone number. She called ,paid the bill and then was sent to the sales team.WHY? She was sold by me ,I had her call and helped DirectTV collect an old bill . Then they stole my sale. You need to ask yourself before you order if these people see no wrong in stealing the money of people that work for them do I want them to have my credit card information or even do I want to do business with that type of company? Mt contention is she was sold when she called the number to pay the bill, why did she need to talk to anyone in the sales department?

Directv - Service Cancellation Review from Ellington, Connecticut

It's been over one month since I canceled my service with directtv. Told that I would be sent the recovery kit in 7 businesss day. Two weeks later I called and was told the system went ahead and canceled my order and she would redo the order. I called today and was giving the same BS anwser. I asked to speak with a supervisor who gave me the same runaround answers by the name of "Billy" employee number 110853. He was rude and disrespectful. He told me I can pay and have a ship myself and wanted to know what was my reasoning for canceling my service in the first place. I also ask them what happens in seven days when I don't get this order when I get the same BS answer when I call again and he said there's nothing else you can do!!!

You would be wise to watch your bank account or cc for charges for this equipment as well as possible early cancellation fees if your contract was not up when you cancelled service. You can ask your bank or credit card to refuse the charges but this may or may not work. If you do decide to send back their equipment on your own make sure you have it insured and request a signature for the equipment.

Directv in Waterloo, Iowa - Cancellation was flat out a joke

I have never experienced a company who treats their long standing customers so poorly. My in laws moved into an assisted living area that would not allow direct Tv. Apparently that does not get them out of thier contract and they were hit with a $100 early cancellation charge. These are senior citizens who don't have a lot of excess income. My wife and I argued with RipoffTV for over an hour and they said my in laws should have checked first with the assisted living center to make sure they alloweed RipoffTv before making a move. RipoffTv must have people thinking up these excuses around the clock at HeadQuarters... you can not make this up!!!! My inlaws wanted to continue with RipoffTV but were not allowed to. I found the same problems with Verizon. Beware of signing up with these companies before committing your hard earned dollars to these companies.
