First of all dummy, you are told CLEARLY by the agent when you add any specialty sports package that it will autorenew. Sorry you are so oblivious that you dont pay attention to important things told to you.

Also autorenew charges happen MONTHS BEFORE THE SEASON STARTS, giving you PLENTY of time to cancel the service and get a full refund. Sorry you only look at your bills once a year.

Everything you complained about is 100% completely YOUR fault.

i was a customer for 6 years paid on time every month. they said I could upgrade to genie for free and it was 50.00 more a month when I got my bill!i am a senior citizen on a fixed income this wound be imperative to know!

they said I wasn't getting charged for the genie itself but only for what it does! I was mad and called for them to take stuff back and they said I had a contract and it was over 4 years ago. so they told me after the fact that I had a auto renu contract with the new genie and never told me about that. so I wanted to go back to my original none contract boxes they said it would now be 200.00 a month would not work with me and charged for breaking the contract and took 500,00 dollars out of my Citibank card without my permission!

I know a lot of people going to dish because of there false advertising! not they keep sending me 200.00 off if I go back!

first off don't burn the bridge and then try and win me back! :( :(

And all of this information was given to you and you agteed to all the terms and conditions 3 times...once with the first rep that offered the upgrade where they are required to give disclosures...the second time ehen you went to third party verification where they again discussed the price and contract....and a third time when you signed electronically for the tech who is required to get a signature after the installation and any questions

You were smart .. you can only cancel directv without penalties if you do it within the first 24 hours of activation of your account......

We tried to cancel our direct TV, we were moving, and offered to take our account with us where we were moving to, they suggested suspending our account, an even bigger catastrophe! We knew we had to pay a cancellation fee but they added fee upon fee upon fee, a total of over $500.00! For months I’ve been trying to correct this with them to no avail. No matter who I spoke with, no matter which supervisor, which department, they do NOTHING! Even when they promise to review it and call again within 72 hours. They do nothing but charge a credit card they have had on file. We would not have known that until we were paying our bill, they never called, but under handedly go behind our backs and charge us, never making an attempt to correct the matter. STAY AWAY FROM DIRECT TV THEY ARE NOTHING BUT CHEATS LIARS and THEIVES!

I had a similar experience with Direct TV. They would charge my debit card automatically and it was ok for a while.

I signed up for the $54 plan and my monthly bill was never below $100. I called for months to get someone to adjust my bill but no one ever changed my bill and I had to pay their price for 2 years! I soon found out that it would be useful to cancel the automatic withdrawals so I closed that card and opened another one. I had to make some changes with other vendors I was doing business with but my decision to stop automatic payments with direct tv would prove to be a life-saver.

To make a long story short, I endured 2 years of over-paying them but as soon as my 2 years was up I got away from them. I made sure I stopped the service before they would start a new billing cycle but they insist that I owed them $78!

If I would have automatic billing they would have just taken it even if I really didn't owe them. I figure they got more than they were entitled to from me.

Direct tv those BASTARDS!!!! Just stole $445 dollars out of my account they did this without my permission, and I don't even have an account with them.. Never use your credit card with direct tv because they keep it on file and use it when they want. They did this last year without my permission and had to give me my money back. Now this year they did it again without permission and said it's a different situation. what's different? it's still unauthorized. I would love to join or start a class action lawsuit against these thieves to put an end to this fraudulent tactics.

By filing a complaint with your Attorney General I believe you will be included in any class action law suit but don't expect to get your money back that way because it most likely will not happen. The best way is by filing with the Better Business Bureau or the same way you got your money back last year.

Im sorry for your loss, truly. But accounts cannot be changed to even a spouse really anymore due to legalisms that have become increasingly prevalent.

Accounts are tied to a persons social security #.

Start your own account. Its simple.

I know Directv will cancel your son's acct with no penalty if he did have an agreement left. You just have to supply the death certificate and the CRG department waives that no problem.

Directv in Dalton, Georgia - Bill went from $72 to $102 without notice

I also pay with credit card and did not notice the increase. They cheated me out of $300+. I called and offered to stay if they refunded what they took without my permission. They said they would lower the bill back to $72 but would not refund what they stole. Next day, I had DISH installed and cancelled Direct TV. I view them as being totally dishonest. Packed the receiver up tonight and will ship it back to them tomorrow. I am pleasantly surprised how superior the technology DISH has and their customer service and their installer was supremely kind and courteous.

Woke up yesterday morn.w/no direct tv called to see what was happening.Oh they said you've been disconnected.why we said they said because your billwas due.didn't say when though.Without notice or anything..we ve called before concerning that they never send us a bill in the mail.How do we know how much to pay if they send no paper bill.They keep saying we don't know but are quick to disconnect though.So in order to reinstate the *** tv we should pAy 59.00.Howcomthey could turn the direct tv off over 59.00?All we need to know is how are we supose to know what we owe without a bill?Do those people think we can read minds ?This has happened before too.Its just crazy.Just wondring how many people this has happened to?SOME PEOPLE DON'T HAVE A COMPUTER! I disagree MikeBrady..These people have the right to have an itemized bill sent to them each and every month so they know for sure how much they are paying and for what. They stated they had called DTV before concerning this problem to no avail and DTV shut off their service for the sum of $59.00.

Going by this amount they could not have been too far behind.

I would strongly recommend that if possible get rid of DTV ASAP.

I'll make sense of it for you. You order a service.

You have a pretty good idea of the monthly cost. If you don't get a bill, you call and get an amount. You mention that this has happened before so you should know about how much and who to call. I really can't beleive that they are witholding info on your bill or refusing payment.

Basically, you know how much you should be paying and if you pay it, your services won't be disconnected. Does that help?

If you are not familiar with DirectTV's policies you must be able to read their minds because they sure do not tell if you don't know to ask. The work-order is their contract and by signing this you are committing yourself to whatever they say and decide to charge you for the next two years!

Plus any bank or credit card information you gave them will be kept on file to use against you later if they so desire. DirectTV Does Not EVER remove their hideous Dishes from anywhere,you have to do this yourself or hire someone to remove it for you for around $50.Any reputable company would have turned off your service immediately but not DTV,they will bilk you for every cent they can.

DirecTV Overbilling

I signed up for service on 8/30. I was promised a bill of around 65/mo, including 3 months of premium channels at no charge. First month's bill was correct. Second month's bill shot up to 162.53 for no reason. Called in to correct it, correction was never applied. November's bill was 227.24. Called in twice to try to get the charge reversed, since they signed me up for auto bill pay initially. I have to talk to some useless representative in india who says something will be done in 7-10 days, and this is my 3rd call, while my bill remains screwed up and Directv

There must be a reason for this; that doesn't just happen. Either you didn't make a payment and the previous bill rolled over, there were installation charges..something. Can you explain as to what you were told or what the bill said so we can have some clarification?

I can't figure out exactly what he is trying to compensate for, but my guess is impotence. Which is more likely - that everyone who complains is wrong, or that DirecTV is crooked to the core? Sounds like you didnt pay a single bill yet and it just kept building up. Theres NO WAY your bill would have skyrocketed like that unless you A: didnt pay your bill (I guarantee this is the answer) or B: ordered a bunch of ppv's.

I'd stop the auto-pay immediately and change #'s on the account they have on file for you. Pay them with money orders and keep your receipts to prove you paid them.
