Maybe she unenrolled you for next year and maybe she did not...I had DTV for 5 months and I learned real quick not to believe a word they say if it is not in writing. Also,I'd never recommend auto pay with DirectTV because trying to get your money back after they take it is almost impossible.

Directv in Bloomington, Indiana - Dtvhd

landlady knocked down my dish mowing grass. Called dtv. They said as long as I was getting a new dish I should up grade to a new slimline dish for an extra $10/mo. installer arrives and informs me I would have got a new slimeline dish whether I upgraded or not. (and the "new" slimeline dish is larger than the old dish. so he takes my old box which I was 100% happy with, and installs a new hd box. It has all kinds of cords and needs a third outlet. I watch hd for a few minutes and it looks horrible. I search for a channel that is not hd and everything looks just fine, the way it use to be. I call dtv and tell them I'll pay the fine ($200) just get me back my old box. they tell me it is impossible because they are phasing out the old box so, I have to pay $200 to cancel dtvhd, but, I can't even cancel if I want to, because they no longer support the old non hd dtv they gave me 30 bucks because I am a long time "loyal" customer at anyrate, I was 100% happy, now I hate dtvhd

Lies all lies dtv does support SD receiver's and if you want to swap them out fine with us you pay $69 for that swap no 200 fee unless you are trying to buy not lease

Directv restarted service on suspension $212

I sold my house and called to cancel my service but was told to just put in on "vacation" suspension for 6 months. It took me 5 months to find another house to buy while I stayed in InTown Suites. In January I found a house to buy. I put the equipment in my trunk to return and so much was going on that I forgot. They restarted my service then turned me over to a collection service. They never called and said that wasn't their responsibility. The bill was $458 with the credit collection until I contacted Directv and they sent me boxes to put the Directv boxes in and return them at no charge to me. Then the bill dropped to $212. I asked why and they said $15 to disconnect service and the rest for turning the service back on. I never told them to turn it back on. I was told they do this automatically after 6 months. I said I already had AT&T UVerse service and could prove it. They couldn't hook me up since I hadn't called and told them where I moved but they could do it in the office. I was told they contacted me in mail at the address I was living InTown Suites. It is a business and not allowed to forward mail after a person moves out. They are determined to get the $212 from me. I wrote to the corporate office and haven't heard back. I was told I couldn't call corporate office but had to write. I talked to an unprofessional supervisor at their regular office. I told him the collection company had no trouble calling me. He said that is what they do is turn it over to collection. He asked me what I would have done. I said I would have turned the service off and called the ex-customer for the equipment. He said that is not how they run their business. I am wrong for not calling and they are wrong for connecting the service not even knowing where I lived and not calling me. I am willing to pay the $15 but that is all.

Directv in Honolulu, Hawaii - Lied to continuously by Driect TV.

On October 1, 2013 I again, 4th time in 11 years, signed up for Direct TV and was told that it would be installed in 24 to 48 hours and would only require a 13” disk here in Hawaii. In the past it required a 48” disk which is not allowed where I live. So for the next month I called at least 8 different times and was placed on hold, hung up on, got disconnected or, when I actually spoke with someone, I was lied to. I was always told there were no open dates for installation – whatever that means. And I was always told that their supervisor would call me back; that never happened. Finally I got a hold of the local installer but he said they had many cancellations because they still only used one dish provided by Dish TV which was 48” in diameter; I cancelled my order. I personally spoke with numerous Direct TV people explaining that I could not install a 48” dish but each one assured me that it used only a 13” dish here in Hawaii. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced and I am spreading the word as many places as I can, and that’s a lot!

Directv in North Little Rock, Arkansas - Wrongful Credit Card charge

My boyfriend at the time got direct tv in August 2013. He needed a credit card to pay the $9.00 charge so he used mine, which was fine. He specifically told the rep not to save the card to the account or on file and she said no I will not save the card on file, this is a one time charge. Today, my bank account was charged $131.00 by direct tv when my card wasn't supposed to be saved on file in the first place. I have bills to pay and have this wrongful charge to deal with on top of that. I will take further action if not resolved.

Call your credit card and dispute the charges and if/when the money is returned to your account I recommend you change the number on your card or close the account to keep them from recharging your account.

The debit or credit card that is placed on file can incur automatic bill pay if signed up for it, as well as early cancellation, final bill and or equipment non return fees. That's YOUR fault, not Directv's :grin

Directv in Clovis, California - Charges for bogus additional TV receivers

I noticed my charges rising sharply in the last month. My bill is paid automatically from my credit card, by the way.I have 4 receivers for which I pay $6 monthly. However Directv sneakingly introduced a charge to 6 receivers since May '13 so I was being billed an extra $12 monthly. When I called complaining of this scam I was told they have documentation that I called to add the service, which was done with no visit from a technician and no receivers added. They have claimed to cancel the 2 extra receivers and will issue a refund for which I am awaiting

The first thing I would do is stop the auto payments to DTV. This is one company you don't want to take any chances with or ever trust with any of your accounts.

Another thing is when you and if you cancel service they may try and charge you for the 2 receivers that you don't have. Have them send you the documentation they say they have.

Directv - TV freezes up when it rains.

My TV freezes up every time it rains, I am really getting sick of not having TV. What am I paying for? It's froze up more than when it can be viewed. We have not had a picture for 2 hours this morning and its still froze. We have had service men out here more times then I like to think. All they do is play with the remote, telling us what we can do with the remote when it freezes, none of these things work, its easy for them to say this because they are here on a good day. And nobody yet has even gone out and checked our dish. If this continues you will not be getting our service again, when our contract runs out. A very unhappy customer.

Cable is by far superior to DTV! Cable fixes their equipment for Free and they do not hold the customer hostage for 2 plus years while taking them for every cent they possibly can.

Well, duh! The signal is coming from a satellite in outer space.

A heavy rain blocks the signal from that satellite.

Did you think there was some sort of cable running down to your house from low earth orbit.

That said, if the blockage lasts a long time (which is doubtful- we have had DirecTV for over 15 years and the outages rarely last more than 15 minutes), then you may need to call them and make sure your dish is properly aligned. You can check this yourself by running through the signal diagnostic routine on the box itself.

Directv in Palm Springs, California - Liars!!!!!

I signed up for direct tv on Sunday and was told I was approved for genie and an hd dvr. Now today, Wednesday, when the tech comes and installs the dish he tells me I'm getting 2 standard receivers. I didn't allow him to install them and have been given the run around by every customer service agent I talk to. One tells me I can't speak to a manager. Another tells me a manager will recite my phone call and to call back in 2 hours. I call back and am told there's no way for me to contact the office that I had previously spoken with. All the will tell me is I was misinformed and must pay an extrea 600$ to get what I was told I had been approved for. Every time ive talked to someone at directtv ive had nothing not problems and lies. I'm sick of the terrible customer service and I'm sick of wasting my time for absolutely nothing. Not to mention the frustration and aggravation for hours on end. I refuse to put myself through it. I dont recommend direct tv to my worst enemy.

You were wise in not letting them install the equipment otherwise you would have been under their 2 yr contract. Get cable if you can or do as I did get an HD antenna for the local channels get internet service and buy a Roku at Walmart for less than $100 and sign up for Netflix for $8.23 month for all the tv shows and movies you will ever want to watch. You can watch entire seasons of tv shows for free on Netflix plus Roku has a bunch of channels on it to watch along with Pandora radio.

If DTV has discontinued you service, There will most likely be a big charge to turn it back on. You might want to consider cable as there is no contract.

DTV will be charging your account a big early cancellation fee plus the late payment. Go to your bank and change the number of your bank account before DTV debits your account.

DTV can not touch Social Security but if it in your bank account and you gave them the # they can debit this. If you decide not to stay with DTV be sure to get a tracking # when sending back their equipment otherwise they may try to charge for this also.

My cable bill was only 172.00 I checked myaccount a couple of days later in found out they took 300.00 out of my account.I called an asked why was the money out & they said early termination.in I never asked 4 my service to b cancelled.the worst company ever.!she told me they sent out boxes but I never received them , I'm goin with Comcast so many ppl has warned me about direct tv ripping people out of there money.so a warning to anyone with direct tv please change your cable to some one other than DirecTV if you would like to keep the thieves away from your bank account!
