Directv in Laconia, New Hampshire - No call after a week for installation date

I have paid my fees and was told since it was through a dealer...whatever that means?? That they would b calling ...me..I've been on the phone three times with them for about 40 mins the last time- I was even told a messege was left to call me back... I'm pissed bcuz I want cable and my kids ask me when they are hooking up...this is so iritating!!!! Wth is going on?? I'm about to ship everything back n say forget this! I'll to to metrocast! Why is it so difficult for u ppl to make an installation date w me!

Another great story on Directv's worsening service and image with the viewing public. I urge all of you with a beef to consider getting out and going with an alternative if you can.

Maybe it's a blessing in disguise - I have had Directv for about 6 months. There is a lot of fine writing in the contract with their "specials".

Just make sure you know exactly what you will be paying since it's a contract. I didn't pay close enough attention and am now paying at least $40 more a month than I wanted to. Not to mention, there are more times than I'd like where the picture goes out due to rain, wind and/or snow.

I miss Comcast and wish I hadn't switched but now am stuck in a 2 yr contract. :cry

my account was charged 650.00 for service. I have never had service with direct tv please credit my account. My room mate must had used my card to make a payment. Im 65 years and i need my money to pay bills and to pay rent. I need my money to be reversed back into my account. I Have called billing and direct tv i found very hard to belive that a company like directv would take an old woman money why what kind of poeple are they.. They have no respect they are animals. I will call my lawyer on monday.

They are the *** of the earth and they have no concern for anyone. Talk to someone at your bank they are the ones that can reverse the charges for you and give you advice as to what to do next.

I'm sure they have handled problems with DirectTV before with other customers.

Max.. your advice is good but the quickest way to get her money refunded is by her bank reversing the charges for her.

Ms Beatrice, you are the perfect example of how Directv could care less about its customers or people in general. I guess they are hurting for cash to take $650 out of the pocket of a fixed income senior.

The only thing I might suggest Ms.

Beatrice is take your complaint to one of the consumer reporters on the Today Show. It's funny how corporate giants all of a sudden do about faces when faced with bad press going out to millions.

If the amount was taken off your credit card call your credit card company and ask to dispute the charges. If the money was taken from your bank account get in touch with your bank and ask them to do a reverse transfer of your money.

Directv in Los Angeles, California - They dont send the bill statement and cut off w/ notice

They ask for a credit or debit card saying that my first payment was going to be $76 but they took $186 never gave this money back nor credit over this! Then i ask for the monthy for $29.99. I ended up pay $65 a month because of hide charges. Now they cut the direct tv w/ notice i call them and ask them for my billing statements. This guy in customer service name Francisco starts giggles how unrepectful!!! This happen 8/16/13. I also spoke to manager she wasn't any help. Direct tv is a rip off no good channels at all.

This channel had Gearz program, Hot Rod TV, Chop Shop as well as other auto related shows; and it had great fishing programs (all currently available on Saturday). If nothing is done about this, I am seriously considering going to another provider when this contract expires. It was speed channel and owned by Fox Sports. Fox Sports dumped Speed in place of Fox Sports 1, their new sports network. Has nothing to do with DirecTV

Shouldn't have let him talk you into it. Honestly sorry about your experience people like the guy you talked to ruin it for everyone. He pushes and pushes you, gets money for you signing up, employees like me lose money for you dropping us, and most importantly you the customer go though what you went through.

We Jewish people in Alabama...Gadsden...would really like to see/have Jewish TV and the Smithstonyian channel. (sorry about the bad spelling). Was wondering if this was possible. I don't know why you are insisting we enter 100 words....but here goes....shy why you are not giving us Jewish TV but there are what seems like hundreds of christian programming. i stopped direct tv in 2008 was on a trial period called to cancel an they told me it was to late paid them on the phone thru debit sent them thier equiptment , them extortionist are still having collection agencys call me if i give them another penny pig,s will fly

Directv in Merritt Island, Florida - My service goes out just about every day

I am so sick of Direct TV. I live in central Florida where it rains just about every day. So that means every day I lose my service for a time. Unfortunately I got roped into a 2 year contract I didn't know about until it was too late to dump them. Direct TV is the worst product on the market. God forbid if a hurrican hits I will not be able to get important information. Also, they stuck a new charge for HBO, Cinimax and other channels on my bill without my consent. HUGE rip-off company and I urge anyone NEVER to begin their service. You will NOT be happy.

I am writing this letter to express my frustration and complaint against one of your employee, Irene at office number: (310) 964-5623. I was hoping to activate a new account as my daughter who currently has an account activated at the same address is looking to move out and no longer wishes to be the one responsible for the service. I was given the phone number of (310) 964-5623 to contact in order to activate the account. I tried to call that number 3 times, left 3 messages on 8/14/2013, and yet no one had to decency to contact me back. Therefore, I had to try again the next day. Well, on 8/15/2013 I was fortunate to have Irene picked up the call. However, I didn’t know I was in for an insult. Not only had I have to call the office again and again, when as a customer, it is the staff of Direct TV that should have the professionalism to return a customer’s call after they had left 3 voice messages. Anyhow, Irene told me that she did not think I was Kim, although I was able to provide any personal and private information she had needed, including my SSN, DOB, and address. Her reasons were that I did not sound like a 50 years old woman. I am sorry? What did I was supposed to sound like? An old lady on a dead bed? I was just trying to activate my account, trying to provide Direct TV with a paying customer. If Direct TV does not want my business I will have no problem looking for a new provider. I am not the company that is losing thousands of customers on regular basis. Therefore, my concerns are that since when did a company allow its employee to stereotype a person’s phone voice and suggesting that they are a liar? I truly hope that someone from corporate office can review Irene’s common sense and ethics in treating customers. How unfortunate for Direct TV to have Irene as part of the team.

I'll have to admit I did laugh while reading this and the reply :) but I don't believe you meant it to be funny. You might want to read some of the other complaints on here before you commit yourself to DirectTV for 2 years.

This made me laugh. What if someone else pretending to be your daughter tried to do what you attempted today?

You would be on here complaining about how DirecTv doesn't protect their customers and blah blah blah. It's called FRAUD, lady. People like you are always going to find something to complain about.

Be lucky that DirecTv caught on to your act and put a stop to it. Sure, Irene was rude about her comment but at least she's not dumb enough to hand over your daughters account to just anyone.
