Directv - Charging for services I never ordered !!

I have had direct TV for the last 9 months or so. I ordered the basic package ONLY and set it up on autopay for a vacation home I have. I get the bill at the address of the vacation home but I did not see the bills until yesterday. I found out that they are charging me for premium channels (Showtime, etc) . I called to have them removed and to get credits and the person I talked to did everything they could to keep the channels on my account. I asked for a credit on the unauthorized charges and the response was I should have caught them earlier. They have no shame. THis is a bad way to do business but I guess they are getting away with it. I will cancel once my two year obligation is up. There are other options.

You get the premium channels FREE for THREE MONTHS. After that, they start billing at the regular rate.

It's your responsibility, NOT Directv's to have them removed.

That's on you, not on them. :grin

Directv in Duluth, Minnesota - Service charge

My roof was redone and the dish was removed and reinstalled by the roofer. The signal was "not found". I called Direct TV and they told me there would be a $50 service charge to have a person come out and realign the dish. I have been a costumer for years. They are willing to give new customers a break on monthly fees but are going to lose a customer because they are unwilling to service their existing customer. Now they are boing to lose nearly $80 a month because of a $50 service charge. Netflix is looking good to me.

First off, they sent us an offer a million times offering a great deal for like 39 bucks a month for basic cable. We chose to switch to them from Cox because it appeared as if we would save money which we badly need to do since I had a failed spinal fusion surgery...

Directv in Vidor, Texas - PAID $289 TONIGHT STILL INCOMPLETE SERVICE

I was on autopay and have had no problem for the past year until my bank issued me a new credit card due to a large security breach. I did not realize there was a problem until the end of may when my service was disrupted. When I called they said I was past due so I paid them $208.83 to catch up the bill and update my card. Well now it is the end of July and again my service has been interrupted. I have been on the phone for hours with them. they refuse to eradicate the late fees and bad credit charges. At 5 this evening I verified a payment of $289 to catch me up then they said I would owe again in a month and that the autopay would start then. Although she could not tell me what that charge would be. One of my TV's is still not working so I called back and they said they had received no payment and had no credit card on file other than the fraudulent one even though the gal I made the payment to at 5 had the new credit card on file and said she charged it. so they want me to pay another 289 to get my second tv to work. and one of the other guys I talked to , hector, said he saw the payment and it would be posted in the morning. I am so completely irritated right now. This was supposed to be about $100 per month for the football package and the premium channels which the football package sucks too because you can't get any pre-season games and they change the channel of the game you are watching if they carry on another channel so if you are way into a game it could be the last second and with dtv they just turn it off and you have to find it on whatever other channel it may be on of course by then a lot can happen.... I didn't want to get into a contract because I didn't want them to be able to charge whatever they want because I am in a contract. I am completely disappointed with this service but feel like I have no options. Please help!!!

Directv in Las Vegas, Nevada - Extreme Charges

Four months ago I was in the middle of a move, with nowhere to go when my mother was diagnosed with a terminal illness. I had already called DirectTV to put our services on hold just before the diagnosis and had given them a start up date in June. She has since passed and I have finally found a home. When I called DirectTV to set up my service, they told me I was already receiving service. I had passed my restart date and didn't even realize it. They were "KIND" enough to adjust the charges up to the day I called. But they got me with a movers fee, that they said they would offer a 50% discount on. I just received my bill for $400+ and no discount. NOT HAPPY - I am STRONGLY considering leaving DirectTV -

I ordered one (1) microwave safe non-stick stoneware over the phone from Telebrands out of Faifield,New Jersey. I had been previously advised to keep away from this type offer or you are going to get screwed!!! I should have listened.

The TV advertisement indicated this was a "BY ONE - GET ONE OFFER!" After they got my credit card number, I once AGAIN asked if there was any charge for the second stoneware. I was assured there wasn't and that shipping was free.

Something just did not feel right so I called this outfit back and once AGAIN was told that there was definitely not any shipping charges. I got my credit card notice stating that the total charge was $26.97.

I waited for the order to be shippped and upon receiving it found two stoneware in one box without an invoice and no contact phone numbers to straightened this error out.

I found a website called "pissedconsumer.com" and got a telephone number to India. Both individuals were very courteous; however, were only authorized to give a $5.00 rebate. I indicated this was unacceptable and requested to speak with a manager but was told there was none or none was available.

They gave me the fax number of Telebrands out of New Jersey who might be able to rectify the situation. No answer as of this writing... more to follow.

Directv in Saint Paul, Minnesota - Direct tv are thieves

We canceled our cable service that we had through direct tv. they charged us for the next month which was fine even though we canceled at the beginning of the previous month. They shut off the cable the next day which was also ok. We figure all of this is typical procedure. They told us that they would charge is for another month if we didn't send our receiver box back within 2 weeks and that we would receive a prepaid box in 2 to 5 business days. We never received the box, but we relceived the bil even though we called to inform them that we never received the box.

My directv customer service sucks and tech support

I was made cut down an 80ft tree that I found out later the sat clears the remaining trees and my tech support would not fix my receiver until 1 month later and 6 calls and every time I order movies it says it goes through and 5 minutes in shuts off and results in an hour on the phone with them with no results. No SUPERVISOR HAS CONTACTED ME YET. I am super pissed at paying 130$ a month with no service. This must be stopped. I find this the most annoying process when you waist about a 40 hour work week in two months on the phone to no prevail of any customer service or any help of any kind. This business I feel is run by corporate sponges that have no compassion for the American dollar. I will not pay my bill and take the credit shock because of you inconsiderate jerks. I can't take back the contract I've signed but I fought for your freedom as an army veteran in desert storm and I feel like you corporate *** are taking advantage of the freedom I fought for. Descent customer service and quality is what people want and pay for so get you money out your hind quarters and give us what we deserve. WHAT WE PAY FOR. My next move is the better business bureau. Good Luck

Directv - Horrible Customer Services

Please forward the letter below to the right department of Direct TV, thanks. Dear Direct TV management,I am a DISH Network customer. Recently, I received an offer via email from Direct TV. I have heard the ?? customer services about Direct TV. But for the offer I thought I would give a try to switch. I called Direct TV today (07/29/13) as a new customer. The first agent I talk to is Jovanna, around 9 am to 9:30 am. She is very impatient in answering my questions and with a little knowledge about what she is doing. Her only interesting is in taking my order which I haven’t decided. To avoid answering my questions, she transferred my call to a different person without notice me in advance. In surprise, I started to talk a second agent, Tony (id 1099781). Even worse, Tony is not only very impatient but also very rude! He started with "what’s your question?" then, he did not want to listen and said to me why don’t you go to our website to find out. I told him I have spent a lot of time in your web, and there are no answer for some of my questions, such as "what’s the monthly fee for DVR", "what’s the offers for the first year? " and "none of your packages included CCTV Please forward the letter below to the right department of Direct TV, thanks. Dear Direct TV management,I am a DISH Network customer. Directv in San Francisco, California - Being told you are now starting to Bill two moths at a time

yes every month we have gotten are bill, and at top it always says current month this time it said owed all at once so we called to talk to a customer service person.so we could ask about our current Billing was told they would gladly help us. was waiting to here that we owed the usual 123.00 and change , sometimes a little more but not much i always round it off.But was told that we owed 292.and change asked why do we owe so much? She said we owed for two months and nfl channel we told them we have never watched nfl channel we are not football fan's and dont want anything to do with that channel.so then she put us on hold to figuer out what we still owed came back to phone and said 252.and change.said would resend Bill.again i said no we only owe for one month july she said no that we owe for two.June and july told me we didnt pay for june.I again said we did that i have recipt Plus she had said we hadnt payed for june but then said they had recievd payment humm sounds like we payed to me plus i have recipt .Usually companies will ask for money order number or check number to compare nothing like this happened .was told yes they recevied this but we still owe for two months. That Direct tv is now asking for payments two months in advance . I again said i know that all big companies make customers aware when changes were going to happen Direct Tv as well. i have asked several new customers in our complex if their bill this month was charged for two months at a time. I agree we owe for july.
