Directv in Overland Park, Kansas - Just PISSED OFF
After 15 years of being with Direct tv the customer service has progressively gotten worse. We have called multiple times to get tech support only to be told EVERYTIME that they can come out and check their equipment in maybe a weeks time. When a service worker does come out FINALLY, they are intoxicated and have no clue what to do without calling for help. We were also being over charged for 2 years after fighting for 2 years they only credited our account $26. We don't complain unless there is a REAL issue. Customers who are loyal without late or disconnection issues should at least be taken care of. We aren't looking for a free-be just someone to come fix your equipment you are paying your hard working money for. We are currently looking for other tv entertainment options because of these issues which STILL have yet to be addressed or solved by direct tv after waiting on hold for over 2 hours and finally speAking to a "supervisor" who instructed me to "deal with it" ! Needless to say we are not happy customers and would rather pay more than be treated like "trash".
Directv in Arden, North Carolina - Poor to no signal in rainy weather
I have complained twice about this problem to tech support with no resolution of the problem. I want someone to check the dish alignment and connections as this problem did not happen when the unit was first installed on the roof. Nor did it happen when we had our dish mounted on a post. Both times I called I pretty much got a run around, "rain does that". I happen to know it didn't start happening until recently, and they want to charge to send someone to check the install, even though I am paying extra for the service plan. Very shoddy customer service considering what I am paying for my service.
Directv in Stevens Point, Wisconsin - Mailing offers
Direct TV is buying mailing lists from someone who has out dated mailing lists. We are receiving mailings for my sister who has been dead for 20 years. Seems strange that we just moved to Wisconsin and now we are getting mail for her. Does anyone k ow how to forward to HEAVEN??????????? Have tried repeatedly to stop the mailings to no avail. Cannot get someone in the US as Direct TV outsources. Does anyone know how to stop these people? How offensive is this- 20 years after someone dies. Then this complaint has to be at least 100 words, how dumb is that?

I wrote the following letter yesterday(7/2) in response to the survey which your email asked me to complete: I received another email which stated that I could not reply on that address. Thus, I am contacting you. I will expect a reply within 48 hrs. as stated. I could not complete this survey. When I came to the question re: features/reasons that I cannot recommend you to others, I could not place checks in the boxes. They simply would not register, so I closed it. The primary reason we would hesitate to recommend you to others is the fact that we lose service with weather conditions, even when they are not severe. Of course, it always happens when the program we are watching has reached a crucial point. This is extremely frustrating! We never had this problem with cable. In addition, we feel that your repair service time is poor. We had a new roof installed yesterday 7/1, and called immediately after the job was finished, We were told that we cannot get it replaced until July 4th. We will expect an adjustment on our statement. This will involve over 3 days with NO service. Our cable company almost always provided same-day service. The rep who answered the call was very polite and professional. She apologized for the time it took to process the information. The computer was extremely slow, and much of the information she requested needed to be repeated 2-3 times. I would estimate that the call took at least 30 minutes. Directv in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - Paid for the install, they left it incomplete, refuse to come back
In Spring of 2013 I paid Direct TV roughly $50.00 to come to my home to install my new HD box and satellite. They sent out one of their contractors to perform the job. He failed in his responsibilities and as a result, I've endured the worst consumer experience I've had in my 60 years as a consumer. The wire that runs from the satellite to my home was supposed to be placed a few inches underground so it is not laying out in the open across my lawn (tripping hazard, lawn mower could cut it up, rodents can chew it, etc.). However, the line was not placed underground. The technician said that he was unable to dig up the soil to place the line because the ground was frozen. He said to give him a call once the ground thaws out in a week or two and he would come back to place the line underground. Once the ground thawed, I called the man and he said he'd be out later that day. He never arrived, nor did he call to inform me he would not be coming. Since then, I've called him two more times to ask that he come to my home to bury the line, thus completing the job I've already paid for. Each of these times he has said he would be out later that day to perform the work. I've waited at home each of these days. He has never come back to my home to complete the job. Nor has he called to inform me he would not be coming. I've called direct TV about this issue on four separate occasions. Each time the first representative I have on the line has been unable to help me so I've asked to be transferred to a manager. All five times the manager has been unable to get a new technician out to my home to complete the job that I ALREADY PAID FOR. The best offer I have received is to pay half of the cost. As a matter of principle, I refuse to re-pay for this service. The worst part of all of this is that with each call that I make and each explanation I give I become more and more upset. I can feel my blood pressure rising as my head pounds. I'm trying to get off my blood pressure medication and times like these are definitely not bringing me any closer to that reality. I hope this forum is an effective means to get Direct TV to live up to the standards that they preach. I've already contacted the Better Business Bureau about this issue.

SShocked that this great channel is gone. Why were they paying you? You should be paying them. If it doesn't come back on Dilrect TV I will look for it elsewhere. Directv in Dallas, Texas - Unhappy that Direct Tv let the only interesting channel go. Please bring it back!
Direct Tv has removed Cine Moi, an interesting and very watchable channel with old iconic movies and "Stars of the Silver Screen." This was a great escape from the drivel on most channels. Most television programming is aimed at people with IQ's below 75. Cine Moi provided historical perspective on the art of film making. For students of Film it is entertaining and educational. Most people are sick of Reality Shows. They may keep the television set turned on, but believe me they are not actually watching it. They are on the computer or tablet pursuing intelligent programming worth pursuing.
Directv in Blue Mounds, Wisconsin - Phone calls
I was getting phone calls to update my credit card because it was denied. My card had expired and I just manually paid them. Never had an issue before but I keep getting phone calls saying update your information. Well I did and I still get phone calls. Some of them are late at night. I have called 4 time and they all tell me the same thing. this time I asked for a manager and they said he would call me back in 30 minutes well I haven't heard from anyone again. I will be upset if I get another phone call.
Directv in Highlands Ranch, Colorado - Customer Service and Billing
We have had service for 6 months and have had nothing but problems. They first incorrectly billed our account. Then, in an attempt to fix it created an additional account and we are now billed twice each month. Hours of time spent dealing with the worst customer service agents I have ever dealt with. We are now moving and even trying to get ahold of the correct department to make an appointment to check to see if we would have service has already taken five phones calls and more than two hours on the phone. When asked to speak with a manager, I was put on hold for nine minutes, then had a "manager" degrade me and also refuse to set up an appointment for our move because I am not an authorized account holder. I am authorized and have the emails to prove it but she could care less. She then refused to speak with me and asked that I have another account holder call back and speak with someone else. I am not sure what kind of service this is, but I know for a fact that they are not the #1 in service they claim to be. We are switching ASAP!
Directv in Allendale Charter Township, Michigan - Stealing From Loyal Customers Credit Card July,2013
Last month I closed my account with DirecTV after satisfying their two year contract. After returning all their equipment, the final bill payment was made by credit card. At that time, I asked the billing representative if this was going to be my final bill. He replied that this was the final bill. Today, I received an alert from my bank that an additional $6.78 was taken out by DirecTV. I called DirecTV and spoke to a Supervisor, since the billing clerk seemed not to want to answer all my questions. I asked the Supervisor why I was being charged $6.78, and, who authorized the payment? I was told that it was a Pay Per View back from 2011 and that they JUST NOW found out about it. I was told they had the authorization and to read Section 5E of my contract. I then asked him for proof of purchase since I couldn't remember that far back. He said it will be sent out in the next billing cycle. HOW LAME OF AN EXPLANATION IS THAT? Only when a customer confronts them do they act? My bottom line here folks is BEWARE OF DIRECTV. APPARENTLY THEY HAVE THE POWER TO DICTATE THEIR OWN TERMS, AT ANY TIME, TO THEIR CUSTOMERS. DO NOT GIVE THEM ACCESS TO YOUR CREDIT CARD. THEY WILL FIND A WAY TO MISUSE IT. LET THIS BE A LESSON TO EVERYONE. STAY AWAY FROM DIRECTV. THEY WILL FIND A WAY TO *** YOU OFF ONE DAY TOO.
