Directv in New York, New York - Do not keep install appointments, poor customer scv people

I moved across the street - it should be a simple move - Direct TV made it a nightmare - the worst part of my moving experience!!! When I called to notify them of the move - I was on the phone for over an hour and lied to. I am waiting 6 days so far for the installers to arrive and have not been provided with any answers as to when it will happen - their phone ID program is a curtain they hide behind - Call Optimum - my neighbor got service in one day - with great service.

Directv in Placerville, California - Poor Technical Support

We have Direct Tv service in a home that is a vacation rental property. normally the home is rented by parties for 2-4 days over a weekend. we received a complaint that one of the tv's was not preconceiving a picture. I had a local tv tech visit the house to investigate the problem since we are a distance from the rental property. He couldn't diagnose the problem, but knew it was with the antenna. I called Direct Tv to request a technician meet me at the house. They refused stating that they had no information about a problem with the service and I must be standing in front of the set with the remote. On 7*1/2013 I drove to the house and stood in front of the tv with the remote in my hand speaking to one of their techs. After 5 minutes of this the tech determined that the dish was not properly aligned. Obviously this was not a surprise since it is what i told them previously. At this time the tech was more interested in convincing me to buy a monthly service plan that she was working on the problem. when I finally got her to focus, she told me the first time I could schedule a tech to come to the house was 3 weeks out. During these three weeks we have three families tentatively scheduled to rent the home. We have lost tenants before due to minor issues such as not propery working tvs. losing these three tenants would cost us over $1000. When i asked the tech about options for quicker service i was told that this was my only option. Unfortunately, with the location of our house, satellite is the only option for us. Do not subscribe to Direct TV.

Requests to return to Directv service

I have been getting unwanted requests by mail to return to Directv service. At one time they agreed to discontinue these mailings, but have resumed. I travel a lot and get tv through a wineguard automatic satellite dish for dish network. The system is provider specific and quite costly. I will not replace the system to receive DTV services. Sending me the mailings is a waste of time as I just tear them in half ant throw them away without opening them and I want the mailings stopped. I originally stopped service with DTV while spending the winter in Yuma, AZ. They could not or would not provide me with the local channels.

Directv in South Valley, New Mexico - Lose reception

Satilite tv sucks!!!! For the past month my reception has been going out due to a code 775 so I call customer service for help they want more money to see what the problem is. The problem is I'm stuck with this *** for another few months paying up the *** for mediocre programs at best.comcast is starting to sound ok to me.true comcast isn't any better but I didn't have the same problems as I'm having with my directv service.in my opinion its like voting for obama the first time he ran for president lots of nice promises but in the end it was all *** and we got screwed.

The channel was first interesting when they showed foreign films. It quickly withdrew from that.

Plus it was offered at the cheapest packages which means Cinemoi themselves was the one paying Directv to be on their line up.

The channel was boring and only broadcasts in SD. No big deal guys, no big deal.

Directv in Troy, Alabama - Do not subscribe to direct TV

I had direct tv installed at my home over 2 years ago. The first thunder storm that passed over my house lightening struck the dish and destroyed the receiver as well as my $2,000 tv. when service tech finally arrived almost two weeks later he informed me the dish was not properly installed causing this to happen. I filed a claim with direct tv and to this day still have gotten no response. since I was under contract there was nothing I could do but patiently wait for my contract to expire. when January rolled around and it was time for my contract to expire I called to discontinue my service and was informed since I received a new receiver(the one that was struck by lightening) my contract had automatically been extended. Do not get direct tv.

That's your story, more like you don't want to file on your insurance and think DTV is an easy mark, I hope they laugh at you like I am :grin

Have you tried to contact your homeowners insurance? they may pay for the damages.

Directv in Savannah, Georgia - Unable to watch pay per view or on demand movies

called toll free number spoke with operator she inst me on how to get movie with no results. transferred me to Tyrec. it's 9pm EST. Tyrec will have movie on @10pm EST. 10pm everyone in place, and by the way there would be no charge. I wanted to see "The Call" with Halle Berry. 10pm Wonderstone comes on and last approx. 5min before the screen goes blank. when I was with Comcast all you needed was your remote control now with direct you must text,call or get your computer and request. When I switched to direct had OWN network, DIY, Bio chanel all this was removed from the line up.

Directv in Conway, South Carolina - Direct TV Lost signal when it rains

I have had Direct TV for 3 months and have had the searching for sattelite message a dozen times, any where from a few minutes to an hour. When I signed up they promised that this would not happen. Customer service not much help, if you can get them to answer the phone. Thirty years with cable never an outage in rain or snow. Now I am stuck with this thing for 2 years. I wish I never switched. The extra features aren't any good if the thing doesn't work. I have a number of friends with dish network who do not have this recurring problem.

Actually ..about 7 calls regarding same issue. Atleast 1-2 tech aka service calls to the house within 60 days gets you out of the agreement.

Did for me. :p

I have the same problem. I had Direct many years ago and left for Comcast.

Left Comcast for AT&T. Moved to Englewood, FL and they don't have AT&T here so my husband talked me into going back to Direct. I'm mad at myself for doing it. They promised it was updated, no rain fade, etc.

Have missed so many shows due to rain fade. I just passed the one year mark. I'm going to call and see if I can get out of this for $100, which is half the amount as I have had it for a year.

Wish me luck. :(

Directv - Omg

OMG, OMG, I left comcast for this (drect tv). it is the worst ever that I have seen. I just can't believe this sh++. what the he++ was I thinking? I am locked in for 2 yrs. OMG, OMG. Please if anyone reads this don't go to direct tv. worst ever. worst than dish. I have my local stations thru an aerial, but can't hey direct tv. signal lost. I am so pissed off. unbelievable. makes me so sick that I made this decision. please, please, don't get direct tv if you live in central pa. this is bull also. have to write at least 100 words before it will take my complaint. what the he__ is going on in this world>>

I've had direcTV since 1999 and it's been 100% perfect throughout. It might be helpful to actually state what your complaint is rather than just ranting about how you hate them.

Directv in Houston, Texas - HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

Tore up underpinning on mobile home. Refused to send installer out. We have to get repair estimate , send pictures then wait for them to decide if they wll fix it. My son accidentally unplugged outlet and all 4 TVA quit working. They said that was consumer tampering and refused to help fix it. That was only after 2 days of service. DO NOT GET DIRECT TV!!!! They suck and lie!!!!!!! I wish I had gone back to Time Warner with NO TWO YEAR CONTRACT. IT MIGHT BE WORTH IT TO CANCEL!!!! Never again. Please be careful if you order Direct TV
