Directv in Milwaukee, Wisconsin - Direct tv sucks

I was a direct unhappy direct tv customer, I cancelled early due to horrible customer service and having problems with service going out. one time I even had someone come and unplug the line from the dish. I wanted out then but was told it was the 22nd day and couldn't. now that im finally free and owing them 315 due to early cancellation I wanted to set up payments for balance sense im a single person trying to make ends meet and don't just have 300 bucks laying around and they informed me that if its not paid by the end of this month it will go to collections no if ands or buts. I will never recommend this company to anyone and have convinced many people I know not to go through them. I wish I had seen this site before getting direct tv in the beginning.

***, I'm sure dtv didn't take such a large amount for no reason, it was OWED, did you think you would leave dtv and not have a final bill or cancellation fees ? Because based on the amount I'm sure you cancelled early in a contract or didn't return equipment which is dumb on your part because you DEFINITELY don't keep equipment, card disclosures are read as well. And dtv takes what is owed.

Directv in Vermillion, South Dakota - "Customer service" is a joke at Direct TV

I discovered my satellite was out when I came home during the evening. Tried everything, checking connections, unplugging, pulling the card out, resetting etc. in all of its combinations. No Luck. Had to call Direct TV -- uuugggghhhhhh!!!! I need a service technician to look at the system, so I have been waiting and waiting for them to call me to schedule an appointment. You can't call them directly - no, even if you knew who they are. After incessantly e-mailing them, I have found out my service will be out indefinitely because they say there are no available technicians or times. Why can't I talk to them? I pay a lot of money for this *** service and I would drop it in a second if there was a competitive choice. We are being held hostage by this invisible corporation.

I undertand how fraustred you are because I just canceled the whole process of ordering Direct TV servce and asked to refund the initial fee. They have kept changing the price even though I had the contract paper right in front of me.

They even thold me that I could get international channel just by paying extra 5 dollars which was totally wrong. They wanted another $27. On top of that, the intaller needed different equipments that the person could not install until he get the right one. I was so upwet and canceled the whole process.

I am going to find a way to deal with it leagally.

They have broken their written contract and verbal contract. They can't be like this wasting my time!

Directv in Brecksville, Ohio - Your advertising

while watching your newest ad on tv I was amazed to see direct tv using an inmate stalking and eventually blowing up someones home really fellows a company with your size and reach has to use or stoop as low as to use violence in permoting and advertisements.in this day an age I would think direct tv prefer to use humor or happy themes .not funny not empressed very disappointed.i think you need to take a good look at who is coming up with these ideas and permitting this type of comericial.what is direct tv trying to say about your company

I too had American Express and DirectTV. Before I cancelled DTV I called and American Express 3 times and each time I was assured they would not accept charges from DTV and a note was placed on my account to prevent this.

5 days later there was an $895 charge from DTV. American Express changed their story and said they had no control over who put charges on my account. I filed a complaint with the BBB for both DirectTV and American Express.BBB answered the charge against American Express and sent me the letter from American Express.You could definitely tell American Express was not on my side.

American Express did return my money and I closed the account but they told me I could still be charged if DirectTV wanted to charge me. American Express was sending out advertisements for DirectTV with their bill to me and this is why I figured they were working together so be careful because American Express will work in DTV's favor against you.

I am going through the same situation. If you ever make some kind of agreement that benefits you, have them send you an email with the details because they lie.

I was going to disconnect my service when i moved to my new apartment and they offered me the Movers deal with no contract.

Directv in Everett, Washington - You took money out of my bank account without authorization

I was in the process of placing an order, had it put on hold, and then called back to say I didn't want to finalize the order. Direct TV went ahead and took $93 from my bank account, and I have had an impossible time trying to reach a human being to explain my complaint and get the money refunded. I faxed a copy of the bank statement showing the deduction to customer care, and have never received any kind of response. In the meantime, the money is still gone from my account, and I cannot afford to lose this money. My bank is telling me that I need to close my debit since you have my bank info. but I do not want to go through the inconvenience of doing this when the fault was Direct TVs and not mine. This is theft, as far as I'm concerned, and I have already been inconvenienced with lots of time spent trying to maneuver your rediculously impossible phone system, and NEVER being able to reach a person who would help me.

Your bank is trying to help you...listen to them because they have probably dealt with DirectTV before and know what they are capable of.DirectTV makes a habit of doing this. You need to close you debit because DTV may just decide to take more money out of your account and they can as long as they have your debit # then you would be trying to get more of your money back.

Everybody knows it is DTV's fault but DTV does not really care this is how they get easy money from people like you.

I hope you get your money back. don't ever trust any place like DTV with your bank account # or credit card #

The receiver developed a sound problem, I called Direct TV,Thay said it had to be the TV. After changing TVs I still had the problem. I called DirectTV back. I had to go through there games. I finaly had to get a little huffy before they send out tech and a new receiver. But first I had to pay a for a service call to fix or replace there receiver. When the tech came he could not hear the problem.He would not set still,till the problem happend.Hefinally changed out the receiver,how I have 2yr. contract, I was not told of this when I signed thework order.

By your getting the new receiver this probably added another 2 yrs. to your contract you may already have depending on how long you have been a DTV customer.

My name is Brenda Jordan I was a directv customer till they took money out of my checking without my ok and caused me to aquire overdraft fees. They paid back the main amount but only paid half of the overdraft fees. Now you have turned a balance of 53 dollars in to collection while you still owe me 80 dollars. To Whom It May Concern: On Friday May 31, I called 800-894-9131. I told him I was price checking. I was looking for the best deal that had CBS sport and the show Heartland in it. He set up with a program the cost $49 a month. He guaranteed it had those 2 channels. After it was hooked up, I searched for those two channels. They are not in that package. On Monday ( the first workday after TV hookup) I called back and talked to Wesley. He was useless. All he said was go up to the next package and pay more. I said I wanted to cancel the whole contract. He said I could not because it had been more than 24 hours and it was in the contract. I said even if you count the weekend it has been less than 72 hours. He refused to do anything. I said the TV in the bedroom was useless with out the 2 shows I requested, and I could at least cancel that TV. He said he could do that, and would be sending me a box to send back the receiver. The service was not cut off and I never got a box to send back the receiver. I researched the customer consumer laws and called Brittany #455144. I told her everything. She said I was right under buyer regret I had 21 days to cancel. I ask if that meant I would get out of the contract. She said yes. I asked what my bill would be? She said my month bill would be prorated. Then I get a bill for $495.38. I called again and talked to #446421. He said there was nothing in the report about not charging the $460 cancellation fee. Then he said I had to call with in the first 72 hours( that is a lie). I said I did and Wesley said I could not cancel my contract. 1. You did not tell the truth, the programs I wanted was not on the package you gave me. You just wanted to get me hooked up and go up in price, 2. Why do you have the contract on YOUR phone and I had to sign it on YOUR phone. You did not read it and I was just told to sign it I thought it signing I got hooked up. 3. All your employees say different things and nothing is in writing. 4. How you charge me 22.45 sale tax. How can you charge taxes on no service or product? That is tax fraud 5. I had one week of service (168 hours) your price is $2.74 per hour. That is not hours I watched TV, just hours in a day. Why not advertise that way? I will. 6. You have never sent a box for the receiver. Is that because you want to bill me for that also???? Or do you feel I have paid for it? It can not be your people are awful and unscrupulous. I am requesting a copy of all your notes on the phone calls I have made to Direct TV. I am also requesting a box to send your stuff back to you. I will not deal with you on the phone anymore. I signed up on May 2nd for the package deal. I had been a Comcast customer for 10 years and was very happy.

The only reason I switched is because the salesman told me I could get the same package that I had with Comcast for $100.00 less a month with Direct TV. He also told me I would have one bill for everything. It has been 6 weeks, I am being billed $205.00 a month instead of 144.00, I am getting two seperate bills and I found out that the movie channels will go away after 3 months unless I want to pay an extra $47.00 a month. When I called Direct TV customer service, the first time, the girl was very nice but told me there was nothing I could do, then I called back, I got Chester and he kept asking all the same questions I had just told the previous person.

I told him I needed to talk to a manager! When Ann got on the phone she basically told me I had a contract and she would do nothing to help me. I was so mad by the time I hung up! When I was talking to her, it was like she was just reading lines off a script!

I told her their customer service is horrible and apparently they don't care about taking care of their customers!

Thinking about cancelling and just :( paying the fee! :(

I don't think I'd trust them to read this post. I'd call DTV again for the boxes and when they send the boxes be sure to get a tracking# to prove them get them otherwise they may try to charge you for them. DirectTv plays by their own rules that they make up there is no winning with them.
