Directv - Direct Tv ripped off 221.60 on a deposit

My husband saw a advertisement on the newspaper about a 39.99 deal for basic cable. N called they. Took in his info. And told him he qualified. And told him " we need a 221.60 deposit ..so my husband went to deposit 300.00 dollars in a debit card to pay them so he came back n gave them the debit card number. So they Took the payment. N said you will be recieving services tomarrow from 12 noon till 4 pm this was to be connected on March 12 2013. Well the time came and no one showed up no call or nothing. So my husband. Called n asked .Whats going on no one showed up? N thier response was " oh we are sorry sir,but some time back your wife had applied for serices with us n didnt pay us 221.60 she owed so we took your money instead. My husband said" i am applying on my own a count. So my husband asked why didnt you tell me?" they said well "we are sorry, we will repremend they person who felled to tell you." n they said that the money was frozen. We called our bank n cancelled the transection .right now they are going to start the prosses to get our money back.

Directv in Highlands Ranch, Colorado - Customer Service

The customer service at this company is the worst I have ever seen. They FRAUDULENTLY charged 221.00 to a credit card that I had originally set my account up with 3 years ago. This was a friend's credit card. I went online and paid my payment which was only half that amount and now my friend has a charge for 221.00 on their credit card from directv. Now I have a $200 credit on my account and he can't dispute the charge without the credit card company coming after me! Directv won't cut me a check for the credit on my account and now I have to give to him $200 plus I already made my payment this month!!! I went all the way up the supervisor line and they just kept telling me that I submitted a request online and they won't do anything to help me. I threatened to cancel my service and the supervisor said go ahead there was nothing she could do about it. I calmly told her I NEVER authorized a payment and all she would tell me was that I did authorize the payment and they couldn't help me since it was done online. Even though I NEVER SUBMITTED A REQUEST ONLINE!!! Worst service ever!!

Directv in Orem, Utah - Terrible customer support

DirecTV offers a good product, but they are terrible to work with. They are totally inflexible in what they think you should do. I have been a DirecTV customer for many years. Their prices go up and up, but their service goes down and down. Their good offers are for new customers only, so don't try to get any of their new deals if you are already a customer. They are pros at getting you in the door and then ripping you off the longer you are with them and every time you want to upgrade. If I could get Verizon FIOS at my home, that is the best service and the best support! If I were not a DirecTV customer, I would not become one.

Directv in Columbia, Missouri - Company won't comply with Americans with Disabilities Law

Received an offer in the mail from Directv. Was thinking of changing television/phone/internet. Called and asked for the offer in in large print since there was no possible way to read it's fine print. Told no, read it on the internet. Offer is NOT on internet. Emailed customer service and asked again for the offer in large print. They called me and offered to "tell" me what was in the fine print. I want it in writing because it is a contract. Under the Americans with Disability Act laws, they are required to meet my accommodation request. What are they hiding in the fine print?

You are in error, the ada says "REASONABLE accommodation" you have other options avalable being online where you can read it @ 128 point font if you like, People who try and cry ADA when people won't bend over for "Disabled" people make me sick

It probably really was, as it sounds just like their rude *** behavior. And if you think they care about ANYONE, let alone the disabled, guess again.

I would want the contract from this company in writing too, as the small print and the large print is just one *** job after another.

They lie, steal, cheat, and then get pissed because they get caught. What are they, 7?

Directv in Reading, Pennsylvania - $440.00 cancelation fee from direct tv

We moved to a house where there was never any cable or phone lines I called Direct TV and they offered me their bundle package I thought it was a great package Direct tv hooked up tv in December and Verizon after a month of trying to get someone here finally e-mails me and said they cannot hook phone and internet up because they have too many customers on the pole. So I called to tell Direct TV to tell them about it and they say they have nothing to do with Verizon and I cannot cancel service even tho they didn't fulfill their contract with the BUNDLE PACKAGE. Customer service is very rude at direct tv. I am not paying the 4 hundred some cancellation fee I will fight them and never ever go with that company again ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you do not plan on paying them,then you must cancel the bank account or credit card they have on file for you. If you paid cash,they will keep it and turn you over to collections also put a bad report on your credit report.

Directv in Ocala, Florida - Satellite dish? You own it!

I recently moved into a place where there were two satellite dishes in the ground. Not being a television watcher, I'm not interested in installing anything or buying a service. When I called Direct TV to ask them to remove both satellite dishes (one is Wild Blue, part of Direct TV), their answer: the dishes are probably out of date; after installation the dish belongs to the customer; Direct TV won't remove them; if I can find someone to remove them ($$?? - I can't), great. In other words "Tough baloney on you unless you sign up for a package and owe us some money". But I'll do whatever I can to let others know that Direct TV's policy is certainly not customer-friendly!!

That's pretty much what they told me...since I'm living here it's mine to do with whatever I please and they aren't allowed to uninstall it...backspace delete that...if they can come install it why can't they remove it???

Notes on my Direct TV: "Cust thought her original contract included free HD TV. I advised cust that we could add free HD TV however they had to be enrolled in auto bill payment. Transferred to billing dept." "Cust was transferred to me however the agent misinformed cust re auto bill payment. I advised cust to sign up for auto bill payment on our website and then call us back to request free HD TV." That was over a year ago and I assumed I was not paying for the HD TV. Never looked at my actual bill as it was paid automatically. When I called today, a Direct TV supervisor argued with me for over half an hour. He was the RUDEST person I have done business with EVER. He said that they were not offering free HD TV at the time of my contract. . SO I guess both of the agents "misinformed" me! I was willing to take the blame for possibly misunderstanding . . and he did offer me 6 months of free HD TV - but was so rude about it. Not once did he show he valued his customer. In the end - it was NOT about the $10 monthly fee - it was all about how to treat your customer! He would not tell me how to get ahold of his supervisor. Gave me her first name and said I would have to "start the process all over" to try to talk to her. In other words, I could call back hoping she was working. I asked how I could contact corporate as I wanted to give feedback on their poor customer service - he said there is no way to contact corporate! He told me that they were rated number 1 in customer service - what he failed to mention that there is only 1 other competitor in our area . . WOW rated number 1 out of 2. LOL I work in a call center and we do everything we can to satisfy our customers (even at the cost of the company). We do this as we do not want people out there talking bad about our business - this guy could have cared less. In my work ethics - Customer is ALWAYS right. You never argue with a customer and you certainly are not blatantly rude. I do like the service they provide to my home HOWEVER everytime I have called them, the agents are worthless. Direct TV - get some training for customer service skills. And care what your customers are saying about you.

Direct TV is a NIGHTMARE. I agree with other comments that I wish we read the BBB and saw all the lawsuits prior to switching to them from cable. Hey, it looks like a sweet deal...look at all the ads in the paper and in store. "Free" (no they are not free) all room...
