Directv in Memphis, Tennessee - Will Not Refund!!!

I had to move-direct tv said I had to either cancel service for $220 or pay full price when it wasn't being used so we cancelled. The next they called and were willing to work with us so we scheduled an installation. They also said the $220 would be refunded at installation. The technician was unable to install. I called direct tv and they said they could not refund because I had lost all my "loyalty points and incentives" when I cancelled. I was never told about these points and incentives. I was under the impression that if direct tv could not install-it was their problem.

Directv in Colorado Springs, Colorado - False and misleading advertising and promises

With in 30 days of subscribing to Direct TV I received a monthly rate increase from the contract rate. This practice is the result of intentional false and misleading advertising practices that appear to be originating at the highest i.e Executive level. Simply, sign up new subscribers, offer great initial sign up bonuses and rates since it doesn't matter what the initial cost, they will simply raise the rates the first month and continue to do so regardless of what the "contract" states. People need to get on the band wagon and find an attorney group that wants to take them on. Game on baby!

Directv in Baltimore, Maryland - Rude customer service rep

I am have been separated from my now ex husband for almost three years. Now divorced for a year and a half now back into the what was the martial home. Which is now the sole property of mine. For some unknown reason he refused to have the service cut off and allow me to have new service placed in my home and now has an outstanding bill for non payment. Which was the company fault for not allowing me to disconnect his service when I attempted too. Now the customer service rep is explaining to me that it is considered a marital debt. Your company refused to cut the service off when I asked for the service to be cut off and to allow me to start me to start service. But now your company wants to make me responsible for his bill. He has his boxes, which he is responsible for yet I am being penalized for his spiteful actions. I am divorced as of Nov. 18th, 2011 and separted since Oct 20th,2010 and will not be held responsible for his debts. Your company needs to take a closer look at your policy concerning this matter as well as your rude customer service rep who I did not nor should not have had to explain the details of my life to have service connected. I am sure that someone in your company has an ex spouse and you don't feel you should be responsible for their past due bill(cable bill.) Maybe if I didn't have a 6 year old son I would have gave the name back and maybe not have this problem but I doubt it because they would still tried to hold me responsible for a past due bill at this address. I have refinanced my home and started a clean slate from my past and your company is attempting to sabatarge my credit and success. Oh and when I asked your customer service for her supervisor she left me on hold for 25 minutes until I decided to hang up. I understand that your company has millions of customer and can stand to lose a few because of unsatisfactory service or an issues such as mine but I just had to express my dissatification with this situation. Sincerely Ms Turner PS: Your company ran my credit and approved everything as well as charged my credit card for the projected installation of yesterday date. Which your company called and canceled. After waiting for a week to have it installed. I would really appreciate if someone reviews this issue.

Directv in Billings, Montana - Lied to by Direct tv

I called Direct Tv to order a package from them as my optimum bill is getting outrageous. I asked the guy many questions about the exact price i would end up with. His exact prices came back as $75.98 a year for the first year and around $100 a year for the 2nd as he couldn't tell me an exact price because of taxes. once again i asked him what came with these prices and everything was exactly what i wanted. After being very leary i finally went ahead and ordered the plan. (20mb internet w/ the xtra tv package and genie) He ran my card and my credit. He then says he will have to send me to a bundle specialist to set up the internet. When i get to the bundle specialist, first off she doesn't even seem to know what's going on, i tell her that i need to get internet. She then goes through a checklist to see what would work best for me, i was thinking i was getting the 20Mb package that was already sold to me, guess not. she finally gets done and tells me which she thinks i need. which is the 12 mb package, so i ask her the price. Weird it's actually $5 more than what i was quoted already. So i tell her i want the 20 mb package deal that i was quoted and she say's it's actually $10 dollars more a month for the first year and then $20 more a month for the 2nd year. Talk about lying through your teeth to get a sale. Wow, and when i try to talk to a manager or at least talk to the same guy i did the first time, she's not even able to connect me to either. So i had to immediatly cancel the tv part of the package which was to be installed in less than 18hrs. Now i have to wait 24-48 hrs to hear back from a manager. Thanks alot for nothing Direct Tv.

Directv in Chesnee, South Carolina - Bait and switch and ading fees

I'v been a custermer for to long. Problems started when they installed the HD satellite dish but I wasn't getting HD service. I called the company after paying for the service only to get a sales pitch that I was wrong that I needed to pay for a technician to check it out.I did just that, only to find it was not installed proper. The only thing I was told that they would give me three months of trash not my cash that I had payed for. I'm now tired of the way that my billing is done. I called to get help with it wondering why my bill keeps changing, after they transferred me five times to sales people that only kept trying to sale more instead of explaining to me the problem, they said it was because of the free channels( they gave me ). I now have to pay for. I'm going to drop and never recommend this company to anyone. I'm also calling the BBN about how this company is stealing money from honest people who are paying for service they don't get,or being set up for the kill with the ( free for three month )

Directv in Miami, Florida - MOBB STYLE TACTICS

MOBB STYLE BUSINESS. When I moved into my recent condo I was told that cable television was an amenity. I enjoyed this amenity for 13 months and it was suddenly shut off. I called the 3rd party (Access Media) who had initially created the account for me and was told that Directv had shut off the receiver siting it as a delinquent account. Representative Claire with the 3rd party company advised me that they started service on a receiver that did not belong to me and had finally caught the error and issued a shut down. I informed her that it wasn’t brought to my attention before and I would like to continue receiving service she informed me that I would have to purchase new service and pay for installation, I mentioned that there already was a receiver in my condo and I would like to just transfer my service to that one, she advised me that I would not be charged for the Directv error and that I would need to return the receiver and set up new installation to enjoy cable television. I asked her about some specials rates that she could provide to me and was offered a start-up package that includes a HD DVR Genie, The rate quoted for this device? $199 staring at an offer I received in the mail I informed her that I could receive that same receiver for free if I start up through Directv. Realizing that the better deal would be to purchase service directly through Directv I called them and was told that they could not provide me that offer that I was in a “multi dueling service area” and it was restricted property! That Access Media obtained a contract and they could not start up service. I would have to go through a 3RD PARTY!!!! I explained that I had horrible service through them and as a new customer it doesn’t make sense to go through a 3rd party company I have no intent of ever dealing with again. For example if groceries were delivered and were an amenity but a contract was held by Publix you’re RESTRICTED to purchase through Winn Dixie?! That’s absolutely ridiculous! This MOBB STYLE business tactic is very saddening, cable television is a PRIVLEAGE and as a paying customer we should have the FREEDOM to make our own decisions on who to shell over HARD EARNED currency to and NOT BULLIED

Directv - Unfair Charges

Direct TV service was suspended because we moved and could not have Direct TV service at our new location. We chose this option because it was suggested by THEIR staff to avoid termination charges when we lost our home and moved to an apartment where there was NO Direct TV service; we could not afford those costs. We were also told that services would be discontinued unless we confirmed our intention to continue them. Unfortunately, service and charges were billed against my debit acct for a residence we no longer lived in without our giving acquiescence to re-start service (duhhh....we had moved and the home was empty and we were told that they would CONFIRM our desire to restart service OR the service would be cancelled). Now we have two months of service charges...lucky I saw them on my account! Unfortunately, they refuse to acknowledge that they promised to cancel (saying that it was our responsibility) - knowing that we lost our home...wow..not good or moral business practice at all!

Directv in New Lenox, Illinois - Bait and switch

Why is it that Direct Television Look TV Channel 203 can get away with false advertising by offering a bait and switch with their mind improving drug. They say the first month free on TV until you call in, then it is free if you buy three months worth of product well over a hundred dollars.I plan to contact Direct TV and The Look Network if I do not get a response I will contact the Better Business Bureau and the Illinois Attorney General. Also, they are taking advantage of people with an infirmity generally old and having a physical problem. They are the worst kind of infidel.

Directv in Winter Park, Florida - Over charging for channels received

Direct TV is now dropping 2 more channels and they are local channels in the area of Columbus, Ohio. This is absolutely ridiculous. They better plan on loosing Several customers and they also will have to adjust the package price they are charging their customers. They are Breaking a contract agreement for each customer in the area. The consumers need to file a complaint if they do not adjust the prices. They want to charge you for a package of x amount of channels and then drop channels with out adjusting the package price. The company is a reap off just like the rest. They give you one price and then Up the Rates with Fewer channels.

Directv - Interupted service

I am a long term customer who has faithfully paid my bill (my end of the bargain) Direct tv first lost local channel 43 Fox and now threatens to loose channel 21 CBS. My contract with them was I pay the bill and they provide all the local channels in HD. They seem to have no interest in living up to their end of the bargain but don't mention anything about reducing or eliminating my bill while they play their greed game in a sand box like a todler. I suppose the only relief possible is to terminate service. This comes at a time I am working seven days a week and will make it very inconvenient to schedule a change. Not to mention who is going to fix the holes in my roof

I thought local network stations were suppose to be free t.v., so why is direct t.v. charging us for local stations, and now they want you to pay more, I think they make enough money, just as greedy as the crooked politicians, greedy, greedy greedy!

read your agreement, just like every tv service it say pricing and programming are subject to change. which means the price and what channels you get can change anytime.
