Directv in Murray, Utah - POOR Company

I was told if I signed up for another year with DTV they would keep my rate at 129.75 this month they raised it to 136.56 tellin me they got an increase so now I get an increase, I said no I was told my rate would be the same for a year. They said no guarantee in your file that you were told this, great way to not keep there promise is to not write up what I am told, and not send me an update contract so I have proof. When my year is up I will switch to Comcast, haven't been screwed by them yet.

Directv in Largo, Florida - LIED TO AND POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

I HOOKED UP WITH DIRECT TV IN NOV AND STATED I WOULD BE MOVING IN FEB. I ASKED UP FRONT WHAT THE MOVING FEE WOULD BE AND THEY TOLD ME $49.95. I WENT AHEAD AND DID IT BECAUSE I WAS SAVING MORE THAN THAT ON SWITCHING FROM CABLE. WHEN I CALLED IN FEB THEY TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $199.95.00 TO MOVE AND THAT THEY HERE THIS ALL THE TIME THAT THE SALES REPS TELL NEW CUSTOMERS THAT TO GET THE SALE.I CALLED AGAIN AND THE REP WAS SO RUDE (KIA EMPLOYEE ID #111859YXICRG)SHE TURNED OFF MY FREE PREMIUM CHANNELS WHILE I WAS ON THE PHONE TO HER AND HUNG UP ON ME. WHEN I CALLED BACK HER SUPERVISOR TURNED MY CHANNELS BACK ON AND SAID HE WOULD LOOK INTO THE MOVING FEES AND CALL ME BACK, HE DID NOT. I CALLED BACK AGAIN AND TOLD THEM I WOULD NOT PAY THE INFLATED MOVING FEES AND THEY NEEDED TO HONOR THEIR ORIGINAL PRICE, THEY WOULD NOT. I ASKED TO SPEEK TO A SUPERVISOR AGAIN AND HE TOLD ME HE WOULD CHECK INTO IT AND GET BACK TO ME WITHIN 72 HRS, HE DID NOT. WHEN I CALLED AGAIN THEY WOULDNT LET ME TALK TO A SUPERVISOR AND TRIED TO OFFER ME A PAYMENT PLAN FOR THE MOVING FEES. I AM IN THE MIDDLE OF MOVING AND CALLED BACK AGAIN TODAY AND SPOKE WITH A SUPERVISOR NAMED VEN (ID # 442372) AND HE TOLD ME MY FEE WAS NOW $238.00 AND THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO ABOUT IT. I HAVE NOW CONTACTED MY ATTORNEY AND 2 LOCAL NEWS TEAMS AS WELL AS THE CONSUMER REPORTER OR THE TAMPA BAY TIMES AND THE CONSUMER PROTECTION AGENCY. MAYBE THEY WILL REALIZE ALL THE MONEY THEY SPEND ON ADVERTISING DOESNT HAVE AS MUCH EFFECT WHEN THEY GET BAD PUBLICITY. I WAS TOLD BY ONE TV STATION THAT THEY WILL AIR THIS AS MINE IS NOT THE ONLY COMPLAINT. THEY HAVE THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH OTHER THAN THE I.R.S. AND OF COURSE YOU KNOW THEY DONT GIVE A ***, BUT IM NOT GOING TO LET THIS GO! IM TIRED OF GETTING SCREWED BY THESE BIG COMPANIES THAT THINK THEY CAN DO THIS WITHOUT IT COTING THEM. I WILL COST THEM AT LEAST A FEW CUSTOMERS. WAYNE WIKER

Directv in Columbus, Ohio - Mr. George Messinger

I signed a 2 year contract with Direct Tv. The payment would not change for 2 years is what they told me, several times, that is why I signed the contract, the payment would be the same for 2 years.. well guess what that was a lie, when 1 year was over my bill went up about $30.00 at one time, & the next month, went up again. call Direct Tv. and was told, the promotion was for 1 year only, but I still had a 2 year contract. The last year was for service only. That was the way it was, with their contract. When you sign a contract at a pecific price, that should be for that price for 2 years not one.

Directv in Cabot, Arkansas - Blown DVR

When I came home last night my DVR had quit working. I called Direct TV and the service tech said another DVR (most likely a used DVR) would be sent within 3 days. I asked why I couldn't have a new updated version of DVR(the "Genie")and she said I could for $298.00. How ridiculous! If I were a new customer I would get the new "Genie" for free. This is a good example of poor customer service. The service tech even told me the "Hopper"(Dish TV was available elsewhere. Hey, thanks for trying to keep a good paying customer. A successful company shouldn't treat existing customers this way. Maybe this is how they get rid of there old worn and outdated equipment. They've certainly lost this customer!

Directv in Henderson, Nevada - Misrepresentation and fraudulent company!

Much like others, I have found DirecTV's practices to be borderline fraud. The installer who came to the house convinced us to sign up for the protection plan stating clearly that we could call anytime if we had problems or just needed a dish alignment. 18 months later, we call for a dish alignment as I notice the dish had moved in a storm and signal strength had dropped. They refuse to come out as we receive all channels... I try to argue and they remain firm. I then am told that a service call is entirely at their discretion even if I have paid for the plan and this is stated in the agreement! I requested a copy of the agreement that I signed... they could not produce that yet stated that I received it so should be aware of what is in it. If you can't prove that you sent it and I signed it, then you can't point to any clause in the agreement that I supposedly agreed to. I got nowhere... then when I request the protection plan be dropped, I am told I am not "authorized" as it's my spouse's account. That's strange, when I previously called to change programming this wasn't an issue. Oh yeah the guy states, we changed out terms on December 13. I ask if they let anyone know... the answer is no they did not.

Directv in Jacksonville, Florida - CROOKED,SCAMING LIARS

I went back to Directv Dec 2011 after trying local cable. having been with them before, I was careful in the deal I was being offered and had everything clarified. I guess i should have somehow recorded it, if you think about it, you come out of the deal with no paperwork. after the first year, my bill went from around 50 bucks a month to 121$. I have called till im blue in the face and they do not care. They claim i was not in a contract that gave me credits in the second year, which they didassure me when i signed up. They took the credit for my being att phone customer away and it was supposed to remain as long as i was with them. During installation, service tech stepped through my ceiling, 450.00$, They did nothing, broke alarm wire in attic 75$, they did nothing. HD reciever has been problematic since the day i got it. Two different service calls I took off work., both times was called in morning by tech to confirm, both times never showed 200.00$ per day. I went in today and stopped autopay. I will go to my bank tomorrow and stop all debits from my card immediatly and order new card. Then I am going to suspend my account and will continue to resuspend. Screw those SOB's,I welcome them to turn me into collections, then I can give my side of the story.

Directv in Shreveport, Louisiana - service which is paid service

We have had issues with our HD-DVR since we got it 8 months ago. The first repair came out and said it was not set up correctly just 1 month after installation. It worked for a while but had to reset the receivers 1-2 times a week to access recorded shows on DVR. Each time takes 10-15 minutes and sometimes has to be done twice to work right. Second call out said there was a problem with installation set up again. It worked with us having to reset like I stated above. Then our internet access on HD-DVR stopped but we hav eaccess from all other home devices. We set up a repair appt again from 12-4 on a Tuesday. About 2:30 I called to verify they were coming out and was told yes. 4:30 no call and no repairman. I called again. They called about 15 minutes later and said repairman was running late but gave no estimated time of arrival. At 5:30 I called again and told them if he was not able to make it by 6 to not come and reschedule. They couldn't get in touch with repairman so we rescheduled for Sunday 12-4. At 8 pm that night we got a call the repairman would be there between 8 and 10 pm that night. No one showed up of course. We recieved an email confirmation for the Sunday appointment. Sunda at 4 no call, no repairman. I called. The service person said there was not an appointment scheduled. After telling her what I thought of Directv I asked for her supervisor. After speaking with her smart *** and getting no where, no offer for any compensation on time lost (time from work without pay) I asked for her supervisor. I found out from him that the appt was made but then put on hold... Why - Who knows. So here I am after 4 hours waiting (plust the 8 hours previous) and still the system doesn't work properly. We have a contract. If we don't pay then they start bugging the *** out of you for payment and cut off service. But what if they don't honor their contract - service that we pay for and warranty service that we pay for? Sounds like we should be able to get out of contract without paying the BS $400 fee. Dish Network is a lot better - I had them for 15 years without a problem but decided to try DIRECTV - What a mistake. This company - time off from work $80, 8 hours waiting off work - ??? = Pay $80 for service and doesn't work properly x 8 months

Directv in Santa Monica, California - In Collections because the lied

We moved a couple of years ago when they had a, "move for free" promotion. Their service guy came out and wanted $100 for a part he needed. We called Direct TV and they said pay the guy $100 and we will restore your balance (at $129) to zero. So we paid the guy. He still couldn't get Direct TV working. So we said forget it. We will live with out TV. Then they sent us an outstanding bill for $129! Which they submitted to collections. Two years later after moving again and being fed up with Dish's service I called Direct TV and asked if they had any outstanding bill in my name. They said "no" and they signed me up again. I asked over and over to please check my social, my phone # and make sure we were on ground zero. About 8 months in they cut off my current service because they said I owed an out standing bill from 3 years ago.

I am a 12 year customer with Direct tv, I ordered NFL Sunday Ticket last year in 2011 and paid for it, ordered over the phone. Then in 2012 they automatically signed me up for it and i didn't notice my bill for it till it was too late. This is stealing money and any company that does this should be ashamed. Im thinking of taking them to court myself but cant afford it.. if anyone knows a remedy please tell me xboxsold@gmail.com Im no lawyer but common sense tell me that direc tv can automatically sign me up for something that i didnt request. If i wanted the NFL package ILL call them , they dont need to make the asumption that i want it again, i was under NO contract to refuse service on something i never requested.. I was under no legal obligation to call them and cancel something that i never ordered or authorized.. And if anybody thinks so then there are many examples to show otherwise.. like how about if i go to the movie and watch Star Wars and pay for a ticket using my CC , can the movie theater bill me for Star Wars Part 2 just because i paid and watched part one in there movie theater ??? also if a class action lawsuit comes from this please notify me..

P-L-E-A-S-E... Sessa&FunnyMann..do not try to make a case for DTV!

DTV does not need your help, they have a bunch of crooked laywers that do very well in that department. DTV intentionally misleads customers by hiding their conditions in fine print and on the back of work orders and verbally over the phone..The best thing to do is get rid of DTV and never fall for their B.S. again. They have no respect for their customers no matter how long they have been with them. DTV,Dish and Cable has the mistaken idea that TV is a necessity when in reality it is a Luxery.

you can get an indoor HD antenna for your local channels and Roku player for streaming video from Netflix for $8.00 per month. You will need internet service only. This is what I did and I love it.

Sessa is correct. You signed up when you ordered it.

It's a way they get people to spend money because they know people don't read before they sign something. It's a smart way to make money.

They got yours and a bunch of others. Read read read.

Wrong! You agreed to the automatic renewal when you signed up, it's not their fault you didn't read the agreement.

They even put a renewal notification on the bill a few months BEFORE the renewal. It is YOUR responsibility as a consumer to understand what you're signing up for.

I agree with you 100% DTV is well known for making their own rules. The best thing to do is make sure they do not have access to your bank account or credit card if they do change the numbers or accounts.Do not accept any replacement equipment or order anything new because this extends your contract 2 more yrs.when returning their equipment be sure to get a tracking # to prove they get it. DirectTV is a Scam and I for one hope eventually their dishonesty will catch up with them but it has not so far.
