Directv in Annandale, Virginia - Dishonorable billing practices

After being a customer of Directv for over 14 years, the company disconnected the Encore channels, telling me I had to pay more if I wanted to keep them. I had been told since I had had them under my plan for 14 years I was grandfathered and could keep them. After I ordered a DVR from them they disconnected Encore and told me I had to pay extra to keep the channels. I told them that wasn't right since I was grandfathered. They said "no" and if I discontinued service I was breaking my service agreement and would be charged extra. I told them they were breaking the agreement by discontinuing the Encore channels. Today they have turned me over to a collections company which hounds me regularly. All this after I was a loyal customer for over 14 years, paid the bill promptly, returned the DVR. Yet they still insist on having a collection agency hound me for money saying I broke the agreement when I said I wouldn't pay extra for Encore.

Directv in West Palm Beach, Florida - New receiver freezes and CUSTOMER SEVICE IS TERRIBLE!!

Ok, so i have been with dtv since 1998 and i have seen their customer service via phone plummet. I am irritated already and they act like i am bothering them! I pay 130+ for tv monthly and they act like they are doing me a favor! Do not get started with them now, go to dish, comcast, u verse any one but not dvt! Once they have your money and contract their attitude it the *** with customer sevice. My new receiver freezes all the time and the whole home dvr feature is a joke. So i called to complain and they " ma'am'd me to death and said " thats why we are sending out a technician" .....no useful help. Also the supervisor had an attitude, i hope they do record their phone calls! She was almost giddy when she told me my contract wasnt up until 2015! Please, run to any other cable provider NOT DTV!

Directv in Clarksburg, West Virginia - Service

My daughter and her husband have been customers of direct tv for several years. she called on January 11th 2013 and ask to have another room added to her account. they told her it would be February 6th before they could do it so she ask them to just mail her the box and we would hook it up ourselves, they said they would but here it is February the 5th and still no box or any word. Think this is very poor customer service and would not recommend direct tv to any of my friends or family.Their service is lousey.

I am so frustrated - I had an appt for Direct TV to come to my new house on a Saturday morning to install their equipment - I had made this appt several weeks before - they gave me a 4 hour time of when to expect them; when they never showed up they finally called me 4.5 hours later and told me their tech had fallen off ladder and couldn't make it to my house - they had no one else who could come out so my appt meant nothing I would have to reschedule and the earliest they could come out on a weekend was two weekends later. I was shocked that they couldn't take care of me that same day, the next day, or even the next day. I wrote a letter to their president about their terrible customer svc which I have had in my old house since 2007 - never heard anything from the company - apparently they don't care about their customers. On top of that their equipment is no good - it has to be constantly rebooted - apparently they think they are the only tv provider! Currently I am using an antenna - not as many channels but it is free and I don't have the stress of dealing with Direct TV!

Directv in Doylestown, Pennsylvania - DVR freezing, no video, on live tv and recorded shows

My DVR freezes and I lose video. This has been going on for 5 months. I finally stop sending them money. They have offered little help and have been telling me that it is a known problem and their engneers are working on the problem. I guess I will move to dish and see if they are any better. If you are having the same problem with your DVR don't take it , stand up and call your attorney! Directv has just paired out a multimillion dollar setttelment. Lets band together and make this greedy corp pay again. The only thing that gets there attention is files g suit!

THEIVES!!! ...DON'T EVER GO THOUGH THIS COMPANY!! GO DIRECTLY TO DIRECT TV!!!! Charged me $59.99 + $9.99 to ship dish, didn't even know I contacted them becuse when they answer the phone they say "directsat tv" so fast sounds like you're talking to direct tv directly. I called back the next day (less than 24 hours later) to direct tv (since that's who I thought I spoke with) and they told me I should have NEVER had to pay for anything. Direct TV cancelled the order for me and that direct Direct "SAT" TV would refund me the $59.99 within 3-5 days. They shipped the dish even though I cancelled and I refused it from UPS. After hours and hours of angry and stressful phone calls to these THEIVES/SCAMMERS they REFUSED to refund me the $59.99 and THEY DID NOTHING TO DESERVE OR EARN THAT MONEY. I filed a dispute via VISA and VISA credited my account. I hope VISA and the BBB take this business down. I don't know why Direct TV allows someone like this to sell thier service. Made me stay with my current cable company!

Directv in De Kalb, Mississippi - Billing Scam

Either they have the worst mathematical logic ever and should not be working at a major legal American company or they are a scam outfit. It is frustrating when you are charged $70 a month--having no DVR; no HD; or nothing extra--and without them interrupting your service that after 1month the bill is $70 and after 2 months the bill is around $200(for 2 mos. combined). This month it was $215. These fees are on an OFFICIAL pink & blue DIRECTTV bill. When they've had the chance to hit you with scam fees, then they interrupt your services--leaving you with the big bill. Sometimes, they have charged a month's worth for a 1/3 or less of that time period(writing them off as time periods; they do not mention this when you are signing up; they only say that they charge a monthly fee). The thing is that that exorbitant charge comes before any services have been interrupted. Watch out! It's like you're effectively being charged 3 months and get 2 in return. Maybe they charge you for the free trials they claim to give you free without telling you in advance and informing you via bill. In any event, it's a scam! How is it not a scam when the bill nor their customer service can justify the payment?!I have no problem with the picture, sound, and the durability of our HDless programming; everyone should expect that satellite programming goes south when the weather is bad; they've improved this from how it used to be(now, the weather has to be very bad for it to go south); however, we shouldn't get 2 mos. for the price of 3 or be charged for a mo. that isn't nearly a mo. They should be forced to--in writing-- declare their financial policies in clear policy and should be investigated for the past.I wanted to add that we use a checking account in which we pay as you go. Directv in San Diego, California - Charged cancellation fee after being with 4 Ys

The worst customer service and fraudulently debited my account without my consent for 395.00. They said because I sent back a box I had reupped for 2 more years. After my 2 years I never renewed my contract. After 3 years I made a small change they said by doing that I entered into another contract. They debited my account that cost me over 200 in nsf fees since I had no idea they were going to do that. If they had just charged me a fair amount to begin with, I would not have to change to Dish. When I asked if they could lower my bill they said no , but as soon as I cancelled they gave me a competitive rate.Now it is too late I am in a 2 year contract with Dish now and the old Directv dish is laying in my yard. If I had checked with the bbb I would have seen they have a D+ rating and my bank said they are constantly getting complaints about them and the same thing they did to me. Don't walk run from these crooks
