Directv in Birmingham, Alabama - Bill never the same as promised

I decided to change dish tv providers. OK. I contacted my internet provider (Century Link) and the rep offered a great sounding "bundle" to combine my internet and sat services. Was paying about $135 per month for both seperately. Was told that for the first year only $75-$85 for both and at the end of the first year it woild go to aprox $103. Still a better deal than my current prices. WOW!!! First bill arrived $180. It included late fees for services I do not have. They took this charge off as a "courtesy". Next bill $126, called again they said DTV gave me the wrong discount and it would show on the next 12 months of billing and they could not do discounts retroactively."BS" DTV also never told me about the "extra" charge for my 2 other tvs that Dish never charged extra for. After numerous calls and being transferred from DTV to Century Link several times each call I am still TRAPPED in a contract with them. The difference alone in what I must now pay and what I was told I would be paying would have covered a whole year of Dish Network servive. I wish they had just said, bend over and grab yor ankles because this will be painful for you. Cannot wait for contract to end to ditch these "people" (trying to be nice). I would not reccomend DTV to my worst enemy. I am actually considring the early termination fee may be cheaper than paying the bill I did not sign up for.

Directv in Jonesboro, Georgia - Bait and Switch

After being quoted a price of $29.99 for the service, my bills are always higher. The customer service reps told me they can not honor the discounts the sales rep offered me. Now they tell me it will cost me $20.00 a month for the remainder of the two year contract. I was also told be customer service that since they were not there when the sales rep offered the discounts and quoted me the price for service they can not do anything about it. They have also offered me other discounts, but I want the price the sales rep offered me or I want out of the contract without penalties be charged to me

You and thousands of other customers want out of their contracts because DTV lied but it most often does not happen.

This is their M.O. They have one person telling you one thing and then another saying something different.It is best to not believe a word they say to you.You can try the FCC and if this does not work,there are things you can do to protect yourself against future problems with DTV.

Change numbers on the bank or credit card they have on file for you,get a prepaid card and give them this # for their records because they demand one be on file.Do not order or accept any upgrades or replacement equipment as this renews your contract . when returning equipment get a tracking # to prove they get it,otherwise they may try to charge you for the equipment.

Contact the FCC. If they do not honor their agreement, then they violated FCC rules. Just contact them and go from there.

*** installation dish and receivers had to be reinstalled less than wk later. never informed of rebates called CS several times to see why bill at 97.42 instead of 63.98 per month now I have to wait for 6 to 8 weeks while they process some rebate and rip me off for more money 60.88 more while I am expected to CONTINUE TO PAY THE FULL 97.42 PER MONTH WITH NO REFUND while waiting for the rebate to go thru!!!!!!!!! SO THAT IS A LOSS OF 243.52 TOTAL FOR SOME instalation SCREW UP!!!! YOUR SERVICE REALLY SUCKS AS SOON AS MY CONTRACT IS UP I AM MOVING ON TO SOMEONE ELSE AND WILL NEVER REFER YOUR COMPANY NO WONDER YOU HAVE INSINTIVES FOR PEOPLE TO REFER YOUR COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!! NOT HAPPY ABOUT BEING SCREWED OUT OF 243.52 FROM YOUR COMPANY !! REALLY JUST A SIMPLE PHONE CALL AFTER MY INSTALATION WOULD HAVE BEED NICE. Directv in San Diego, California - 22 months of NO CUSTOMER SERVICE

#1 Never gave me the option to have all bedrooms have wiring until the installer showed, then he told me the other two bedrooms would be extra. #2 Out of 22 mos. of service, called 17 times regarding dvr problems. #3 Called once and was never told on a reset it would erase all my recorded movies. NOT my movies, my 2 grandsons which I had recorded on HBO and other pay channels. #4 Every time I called they would verify my phone by the recording, but once on with CS, my old home phone number would be used for verification. This went on for over one year. #5 I asked to have the dvr/receiver replaced, I had a full service agreement. On the 22nd month, in tears, I finally got them to replace the receiver. #6 With all of this, they want to charge me to break the contract. #7 I would hit when recording "first run" and every time that program came on/reruns, it would record. Filling the dvr up in which I would have to every two days, erase the duplicates for more room. DO NOT GO WITH DIRECT TV. Cox doesn't charge for extra rooms (wiring etc)

2012 MADE MANY CALLS TO FIX ISSUES OF THESE ITEMS. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME. THAT I HAVE RECEIVE A NEW DVR, REMOTE CONTROL, 2 OR 3 ACCESS CARDS. REFUSE TO PAY BILL, FOR SERVICES THAT ARE NOT PROPERLY WORKING..TALK TO SEVERAL SUPERVISORS, WHICH IS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY, AND TECHNICIAN EVEN CAME OUT AND MOVED THE DISH. ALL I KEEP GETTING IS PAY THE BILL, AND WE WILL RESOLVE THE ISSUE. WELL WHEN THE BILL WAS BEING PAID, NO ISSUES WAS RESOLVE. RIP OFF. NOW SERVICES WILL BE SUSPENDED. THESE EMPLOYEES. DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR ISSUES WITH THIS SERVICE, IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY, VERY HEARTLESS, ESPECIALLY SOME SUPERVISORS. THE COST OF THESE SERVICES ARE TO HIGH, ESPECIALLY IN TODAYS ECONOMY. MAYBE i WILL TRY TIMEWARNER CABLE.

If you have a local cable co this would be a better option,time-warner has raised their prices and charge for everything. I had T.W.and my bill went up dramatically the second year.I got a DVD antenna for my hd tv's for my local channels and also got a roku player for netflix and amazon movies.I kept internet service for the roku payer

had direct tv installed into my home 3 mths ago @ that time was told no problem to add additional room at a later date for roommate with no problem. called 1/28/13 to add receiver as house was wired by previous owner...only to be on the phone with several different direct tv employees for over 1 1/2 hours only to be told it would cost over 175.00 to add box roommate already owned. the kicker is when I asked to talk to a supervisor a young man named "Lance" spoke with me and would not let me finish explaining situation just spoke over me and disagreed with me when I told him I would not agree to terms he said he would cancel service. Now my card has been charged over 175.00 I did not agree to

When I applied for Direct TV Bundle I spoke with Lisa about phone service. I ordered the Bundle and was given an confinumber. The teck arrived on time and installed the internet and TV but no phone. I received a phone call saying the phone person was held up and would be there betweent 12-2 pm. Guess what no teck and no phone. Direct tv does not provide phone service with the bundle, but they did not tell me that until several ohones calls the next dahy.Now no ohone and tied into the contact for 2 years. Bummer

Directv in Amenia, New York - Direct TV Customer Service Stinks

The receivers and remotes for our Direct TV are old and not working well any more, so since we have a repair contract, we contacted customer service to have a tech come and replace all. We got the 12:00 - 4:00 window of service, took time off from work to wait, and here it is 7:00 pm and no one has arrived. Since our child is young and needs to go to sleep - we called direct TV customer service to find out where the tech was all day and arrange a new day to *** from work, lose wages and sit home and wait for another tech to not show up. Customer service rep #1 was in the Phillipines, #2 was in Mississippi, and we got disconnected from #2 rep. All this service, for the low rate of $100.00 per month for basic TV!! No phone or computer attached to this contract. We had better service with the old 'bunny ears' I recall as a kid....

Mine just started doing that. All I did was pull the plug from the back of the box not the outlet.

Waited a few seconds put it back and no more sound.

Been a few days now. Try this first it's fast and FREE.

Directv in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - No Flyers

Direct TV is in some sort of dispute with Comcast/NBC.......if you like to watch Comcast Sports Net....can't do it on direct TV!! No Flyers games for you! Buyer beware.....FIOS and of course Comcast no problem, but direct TV-forget it. Other than that it is a good service. Could also be a problem with the Phillies games I read on various internet sites. Time will tell. Other than that not much to tell but because this site requires 100 words or more let me tell you about a good joke I hear last week, had to do with Direct Tv and Comcast...............
