Directv in Perkinston, Mississippi - Overdrafted and equipments charged

I'm and 8yrs customer that had some finance problem that force me to choose health over pleasure that i chose to let my service to discinnected and return boxes of equipments. then my checking account was put into oveerdraft because they submitted an electronic check for $160 that cause me to pay out $300 for service fees. I inquired three weeks ago about getting my service back. For genie$300 plus $10 a month for the other receivers $69 plus $6 a month. why should you buy the receivers and pay leasing fees each month good program just ripped off as consumers.

You took news mix off the air for no reason but kept Sportsl mix, WT Heck , whats more important breaking news or talking heads all day during week on sports. Give us back News mix. This was the first channel I would go to everyday of the week to see what was happening. There was no notice that it was going off. At first I thought is was a joke but it wasn't Could you please explain why you aleast did not let us know and will you please let us know when you wil put it back on the air ?

You can talk to your bank and ask them if they will reverse the charges for you.some banks will do this but you will need to change bank account #'s to prevent DTV from recharging the account. and do not give the new # to directTV.

or youu may need to open a new account. If you decide to stay with DTV and need a credit card for their files get a prepaid one.

i always paid DTV with money orders and kept the receipts that way they do not have your bank account #. I hope this helps and you have a nice christmas

Directv in Pioneer, California - Direct tv took $998 from our debit card

We cancelled direct tv and they took $998 from our checking acct through our debit card with no authorization. How can they do that? They said they would refund it in 24-48 hours. Lies. Now they are saying they can only give us half back now and the other half in ten days. We can't pay our rent and we have small kids. It's Christmas. We will be evicted. Someone please help. I want to know if I can take them to small Claims court in Ca. My husband even explained that he is a disabled veteran...they do not care. I not only want my money back but I want them to stop this, what I thought was illegal practice.HELPv

they did this several years ago to my late father-in-law, a senior on a fixed income, when he cancelled their service and had even returned their equipment. in trying to get his money back, someone in "customer service" gave him a number to call which turned out to be a charge per minute phone sex line. this was the lowest form of pond *** i have ever heard of.

I am truly sorry DTV did this to you.I am assuming you are a customer of theirs? right?

there is a contract that you are supposedly under for 2 yrs and if you are late with payments they can do this it is in the contract and they had to get your bank info from somewhere,if you gave it to them,that gives them the right to debit your account anytime they wish.Most people do not realize this. the only thing you can do is to talk to your bank and tell them you want to dispute the charges and sometimes the bank will replace the money for you until it does an investigation. If the bank does replace the money ,you must change numbers on your bank account to prevent DTV from recharging your account. I honestly hope Madd Jack's comment is all you need but somehow I doubt it because DTV does this all the time and people most often do not get their money back.

and one more thing,they must be charging you for the equipment also,when you send their equipment back be sure to send it as they say in their boxes,through Fedex and get a tracking # from FEdex to prove they got it. Wishing You Luck

Good Morning! I am so tired of them doing this *** to people.

This happened to em about 2 years ago and I can tell you excatly how to handle it. I had ALL of my money back in 1 hour.

The law requires Direct TV to be authorised to take ANY monies from your account. Obviously this was not an authorised amount.

So here is what you do. Call Direct TV and speak to a manager only, these conversationa are always recorded. Tell Him/Her, "Look I have communicated to your firm that you have taken money from my account without authorisation and It needs to be put back right now. What Direct TV has done falls under IDENTITY THEFT which is a felony, If you do not return the FULL AMOUNT into my account within 24 hours of this conversation, I will call the police department and press full charges on you for stealing from my account," I promise you, they will put it back in your account. Look up the description of identity theft. It is taking funds from someones bank account without consent. If for some reason they do not comply, call your local law inforcemaent and press charges. At that point, I would be going for losses. Hope this helps. I hate it when the big corporations try to screw all of us over. Have a merry Christmas!!

Directv in Bedford, New Hampshire - Direct TV is horrible!

This company should be ashamed of themselves. I tried to add one HD box for my basement only to be told it would cost me $99 to rent the box $49 to install and they are extending my contracft 6 more months. This is a hidden cost that was not disclosed when I initially signed up for Direct TV. Why was this not discolsed initally. Someone needs to complain to the FCC! If you are smart you will never use them as your TV provider. I am cancelling and paying the termination fee of $380.00 and calling Comcast today !!!!!!

Customers have complained to the FCC,BBB and Attorney Generals for years and years about DTV's devious practices.there is a class action law suit ever so often and DTV get fined but goes right back to what they were doing.They do not disclose their many scams to potential customers because if they did no one would sign up. I could almost scream each time I see Directtv in Best Buy,Walmart and Sams club signing up customers because I know most of them will be scammed.It also makes me sick that these stores let these predators take advantage of their customers because these stores know about DTV's scams,they choose to let their customers be scammed for money from DTV.

They did the same thing to me last month. Quoted me one price to re-sign the charged me alot more.

Now want to charge me $440 to cancel a contract I didn't agree to.

I am taking them to small claims court for the fee. I am sick and tired of companies being allowed to pull this *** on consumers and getting away with it.

Just turned down for my rebate I am disappointed with Direct TV and will no longer recommend them to anyone maybe enemies. I HAVE BEEN WITH AT&T forever and now I am considering dropping them!

I have Roku and I love it! I think you will too.

I too got sick of the greedy cable companies. I kept the internet for the Roku to stream Netfix,now I have all the movies I will ever want to watch for $8.23 per month. I also got an indoor antenna and a booster for the antenna for my local channels and I get quiet a few channels.

there are also some channels on Roku,mostly older movies and there is tv shows on netflix. to check out Roku got to walmart or amazon and read the reviews,this is what sold me.I am sure glad I got the Roku player and I wish you good luck with yours if you decide to go that route.

The reason the salesman told you to go ahead and let the installer finish was because at this point you could have cancelled service and they did not want that. Sorry you had to learn the hard way about how DTV lies and deceives their customers.

Early disconnect with Directv

I had their service for a year on a house I rented. I was being evicted, which is a totally different story. Where I moved to was an apartment complex and didn't allow satellite dishes. Direct wants to charge me 327.00 due to early cancellation not even taking into concideration my ordeal. I'm in worse shape now having missed 3 monthas of work due to 2 surgeries and radiation for thyroid cancer and if this isn't bad enough, my son lost his job in September. Do I have anything I can do to get them to drop this and get it off my credit?

Sorry for all your problems with your health and with DirectTV . You didn't say if you have returned their equipment if not be sure to get a tracking# to make sure they get it otherwise they may try to charge you for this as well.

You have the right to place an explanation on your credit report stating in a few words your side.

Directv in Kansas City, Missouri - Direct tv tec service no good

Dec 3th my direct tv went out. I called in the next day and was told that they would send someone out on the 10th of Dec. During this time even though we can't watch the tv I am still being billed for it. I feel this is the worst service ever. We pay an extra cost to get our satelight fixed in case of an accident, but had no idea it would take so long. After being a faithful customer for over five years we are going to close our account with Direct TV. very disappointed with Direct tv.
