Directv in Ocala, Florida - I HATE DIRECT TV

FOR 5 DAYS I HAVE TRIED TO SCHEDULE DIRECT TV INSTALLATION, TO DAY WAS THE ICING ON THE CAKE, ON WED. THE TECHNICIAN WAS HERE AND WAS NOT PREPARED, AND LEFT, STATING THAT WE CANCELLED THE ORDER, THEN WHEN WE CALLED TO COMPLAIN, THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT REACH HIM AND IT COULD NOT BE SCHEDULED UNTIL FRIDAY (AFTER THANKSGIVING) MY ENTIRE FAMILY FROM OUT OF TOWN ENJOYED THE BLACK FRIDAY WHILE I STAYED HOME. THEN THE TECHNICIAN LIED AGAIN AND SAID NO ONE WAS HOME. WHEN I HAVE BEEN SITTING AT THIS HOUSE THE ENTIRE DAY. THEN I WASTED 3 HOURS ON THE PHONE FIGHTING WITH THE WORTHLESS MORANS YOU HAVE 17 CALLS... AND STILL NO DIRECT TV.. WHAT IS YOUR COMPANIES PROBLEM>

Get a receiver from ebay or where ever then have a family member with directv get another card for that receiver and that family member pays 5 dollars more a month for another box and u get directv for 5 bucks. Just dont hook up your box to phone line. Directv stole money from me now its my job to pay them back!

Directv Unauthorized Charge

I let my boyfriend use my credit card to make a one time payment a while ago. I am not their customer. Directv stored my credit card information on his account. When his account closed, they unsuccessfully tried to collect his last bill from the cards he had on file. Then they charged mine when they didn't have authorization. That charge sent my account into overdraft and caused another transaction to bounce. When I contacted the company, I was told that the money would be back in my account in 72 hours. Three days later my money was not in my account so I contacted them again and was told I would have to prove that they had done this by faxing them my statement. They said the return of funds would take 10 days. The proof of the transaction is in the account. I'm aggravated because they never should have stored that card information in the first place since I never authorized that card to be used more than once. I have had my bank fax the required information but have heard nothing from the company.

Ummmm... but I guess your boyfriend didn't tell you that before he give the credit card information either a computerized voice or live rep told him that DirecTv stores account information in there system and well charged the card on file any outstanding fees...

No... ok oh wow... I would have a talk with my boyfriend... and fyi phone and other credit card companies will do that too...

And if your boyfriend has an old bill flip that sucker around on back it states that too..

This company would I repeat not still be in business this long if they committed this fraudulent acts.... Please pay more attention

Directv in Jacksonville, Florida - Unreliable

TV Signal keeps getting interrupted, freezing. Has been doing this since last night. It's Thanksgiving, so Direct TV is closed down and I have no TV. Have had this type of trouble off and on for the past few weeks. Rebooted, checked antenna so problem is with DirectTV's equipment. All they can do is apoligize. Have house full of guests wanting to watch football, but no signal. It's time to go back to cable (Comcast, ugh). I'm not interested in a credit -- if a TV service is paid for the service should be provided. Direct TV is UNRELIABLE!

Directv in Mount Laurel, New Jersey - DIRECT TV SUCKS

I own a loft in a 4 story building in a historic district. The DTV guy came out and ran 4 cables down the side of th building and into windows. Not allowed obviously and so they came out and fixed. Came out 3 weeks later to fix all others and disconnected ours again. On hold now to expalin the situation to someone in bumf--- Egypt so i can try and expalin what they will never understand. Really dispise this company and look forward to the day they file for bankrupcy. A business can have a monopoly while sucking for a while but not forever.

This low life company has been in business for many years and they continue to come up with new scams to monoplize their customers.They get away with it by offering so called super deals that the customer just cannot refuse but find out too late exactly what the truth is by seeing their bill go up month after month.and by this time they are under contract and cannot get out without paying a huge penalty.Also if their equipment fails they charge the customer as well as add to their contract if it is replaced. A wish thing to do as a customer is to change banks or credit cards that DTV has on file.get a paid cc and give them the n#

Directv in Portland, Oregon - What happened to local Tv channels 11/20/12 in zip code 97070?

We lost all local channels tonight! No ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS etc. etc. Very very Mad! Why did this happen? If I need to add more words all I can say is why why why. If we can't have our major channels, then we are not keeping Direct TV. We need an explaination! What could posses Direct to cancel our major TV station? Keeping cable channels does not cut it. I especially miss the PBs station! Please help and get the channels restored right away. it is really silly that i have to have 100 words to post a complaint and so it forces me to run on and on about this problem. But is really is too much to have all major channels unavailable for hours and hours...and who know perhaps from now on. Please fix this problem!

DirecTV services missing, tech support useless

Got service installed last week after finally leaving Time Warner. Installer was great, but numerous features weren't working. I was told they would be up within 24 hours. The features that don't work on my new Genie box are: Apps, ALL DirecTV Everywhere functionality (iPad, iPhone, laptop), and Sunday Ticket Max streaming on mobile devices. I've made 4 phone calls into DirecTV to get these issues fixed, each from anywhere between 1-2 hours long. Yesterday they sent a tech out who was here for almost five hours. Every time I have directed the "tech support" person to the DirecTV support forums (hosted on their own website mind you). This site is full of 5+ pages of these exact same issues. There is even a post that outlines how to fix these issues, which is backed by many of the people that had the same problems as me. Tech Support continues to tell me what I'm asking isn't possible. One of the fixes is a new Genie box. It's been proven time and time again to fix all my issues. The support person finally authorized a new box to be installed, but then said she couldn't activate it, and that the ultimate problem was with my router. She then told the tech to unhook the new box mid install, and informed me that changing my IP address on my router would fix the issue. Guess what, it didn't. It has already been five hours and it was dinner time so I told him to just leave. So here I am, with 10+ hours invested into "tech support" and no resolution. I'm at a loss of what to do now. I moved to DirecTV for a better viewing experience and better CS. So far I've wasted tons of precious time, and its all been for absolutely nothing. After I pose here I plan on writing a complaint letter to their HQ, but I'm not holding my breath. If its not fixed soon, I'm calling them and telling them to cancel my account and come pick their stuff up, plain and simple.

Directv in Elk Grove, California - DirectTV screwed me by giving me free football package!

Direct TV ripped me off! I am a disabled veteran, I live on my disability check from the VA month to month. My direct tv contract ran out, all my discounts expired and my bill was sky high so I called to change my plan to a more affordable rate. My bill was about $89.00 a month. They put me on what they said was the next plan down. I got half the channels as before. (still had all 200 of the info-mercial channels) They said my bill would be $55.00 a month. AND! They would "throw in" the sunday football package.... It was all lies and deception. The $55.00 would soon go back to $87.00 a month because my new discounts for signing back up were only for 3 months! So when I called to cancel my subscription because of bait and switch tactics, they hit me with a $100.00 penalty for canceling the football package THEY THROUGH IN!!! Dont fall for this free football package because it obligates you NO MATTER WHAT! EVEN IF YOU ARE A 100% SERVICE CONNECTED DISABLED VETERAN WITH MULITIPLE AMPUTATIONS! THEY "JUST CAN'T" FIX THE MISTAKE AND MAKE IT GOOD! IM SCREWED AND I AM GOING TO RIDE THIS OUT TILL MY CONTRACT OBLIGATIONS ARE EXPIRED BUT I AM GOING TO EVERY SINGLE SITE I CAN TO POST A COMPLAINT ABOUT DIRECT TV BEING A RIPOFF!!! Well for one you keep asking for credits for rising costs....if everyone just paid what they are supposed to maybe we all would not have to see such increases. Now i have to pay my bill at full price and pay the increases to pay for your whining.

If you cannot afford it lower your package. Tv is a luxury not a neccessity. This isn't the government where you can apply for welfare or assistance to survive.

My tax dollars pay for that (which i do not care because some people do really need the help) but my ability to pay my entertainment should not subsidize your inability to pay for yours. So because all of you people asking for credits just because u can and not because you deserve it from an outage or technical problem make my bill go up more.

Directv are extortionists

I called Directv to switch my services to my new home, as they advertised a movers deal, however I did not qualify and they wanted more $$ from me. So I switched services and called Direct to set up a payment arrangement on the termination fee, they said no problem, however they overdrew my account anyways and said the only way they could fix it was if I started my service with them again, otherwise I was out of luck and don't call back. I believe that is extortion and will never use their service again! They are liars and thieves, and the sad thing is they called 5 days after I had my new service with TWC installed to offer me the deal I had asked them for in the first place.

Directv in Duluth, Georgia - Stole our money as a new customer.

Start of service date on or about November 14, 2011. Service contract is for a 24 month period for "Choice Extra Package" at $52.47 per month. As a new customer Direct TV purposely miss leads people into signing up for a "free three months" of movie channels, some sports programs and a host of other items not included in regular programing. The real deception is at the end of the three months. If you do not contact Direct TV to "cancel your free" programing, Direct TV automatically bills at a much higher rate. On April 6, 2012 at 3PM, I called Direct T-V and after 15 minutes of being badgered I finally convinced them we did not want to continue with "any programing that was above the cost of our contract of $52.47 per month. May and June bills were at the reduced rates and we assumed the billing as correct. However in scanning over my automatic deductions I see my July bill went up to $85.46 and again Aug, Sep, and Oct. Nov.16 2012 a detailed bill (I got on-line) was for an additional charge of $32.99 for" NFL Sunday Ticket". Two agents later I was told I have to pay the $164.95 because NFL Sunday Ticket came with last year's free sign up package." I would never have kept a football package because this family never has watched football.

I got tired of being ripped off by the big cable companies and finall had had enough I had read others reports and decided to buy the Roku streaming video player from Amazon and I'm glad I did..I now have netflix for $7.99 month and get all the movies I care to watch plus a bunch of tv shows and all without the annoying ads that cable has. I got rid of cable and phone service I kept internet because you need internet to use the roku player. I believe cable is soon going to be a thing of the past and this is the new way to go.
