Directv in Los Angeles, California - Direct TV is holding me hostage/ NO LAKERS !!!

I've been a loyal direct TV subscriber for many years... But that is about to come to a very abrupt END... I see no reason whatsoever as to why Direct TV is still haggling with Time Warner Cable about carrying the New Lakers sports network channel... I've been enjoying all my favorite teams on Satellite for quite awhile...but I will tell you this, if Direct TV doesn't get this easy deal done within the next week... I will be canceling my subscription without hesitation, and switching to Time Warner....Good Luck Direct TV...there are many more subscribers who feel just like myself about this...

Directv in Jarrell, Texas - Direct TV has awful customer service

I moved and placed an order for new Direct TV service on line. They say installation should be within 3 days. They postponed and then the technician did not show up for an appointment, despite my phoning and confirming they were coming. Then Direct TV said it would be 10 days before they could install and insisted there were absolutely no earlier appointments to be had. I had guests coming so called Dish and they got my equipment installed within 2 days. When I called Direct to cancel, guess what, they said they could come out the next day and tried to give me a better deal, etc. I said no way - they had their chance. I won't consider Direct TV again.

Directv in Chicago, Illinois - Direct T.V. are a bunch of liars

In August I went to cancel my movie channels before the promotions ran out. When I spoke to the agent he was giving me deals that I could sign up for. He told me I could upgrade to a premium package and it would cost only $7.00 more than I was currently paying for one year. I reiterated to him 3 different times to confirm the amount, and each time he said yes. After two months of paying what he quoted me at, I noticed that an extra $45.00 was taken out of my account. I called Direct T.V. and was told the increase was due to the $45.00 discount being taken off my account. I told the agent what transpired and how this person who upgraded me never saw the $45.00 being taken off or ending. I was given an address to send my billing dispute letter. I received a from the billing dispute basically telling me it is what it is since I agreed to the terms. I only agreed to my bill raising $7.00 not $45.00. I spoke with a supervisor and she related that the agent was not lying and he just "misinformed" me. She told me that everything that was discussed in August was in the notes in great detail. I asked for a copy of the tape and she again told me that the notes were explicit and tapes weren't necessary. She even told me she would be sending me a copy of the notes in the mail. I called today (11/05/12) and was read what the notes from August stated and nothing was detailed or mentioned of his quote. So basically the agent lied to me and the supervisor lied to me and Direct T.V. won't honor a quote or be held accountable for people not being able to do their jobs. I can't wait until my contract is done. What a bunch of screw jobs they are. DO NOT GIVE DIRECT T.V. YOUR BUSINESS!!!!!!

I'am still waiting !!!!! till as of today no one from direct TV has called me and lost 2 days of work. Bad communication, no good customer service. Directv in Prince Frederick, Maryland - Misleading w/ fees & contract terms! Charging HUNDREDS extra

Complaint Text They are charging $240 cancellation fee because my apartment will not allow satellite. If I were to transfer they would have charged me a $150 moving fee that was never disclosed I was told by rep contract term was1 year as long as I didnt get HDTV-as I knew I'd likely be moving and TOLD HIM THAT UPFRONT My girlfriend signed contract. (I have a copy) And has payed bill on her credit card. However, they claim she isnt on account & when she has called directv they have refused to discuss the bill thats being charged to HER credit card. (hung up on / & she was told by one agent shes not on account because I don't love her) They are charging me for alleged late fees- though I have bank statements proving this was automatically withdrawn from our account since the beginning. We agreed to a set monthly fee- however their fee varies monthy by over 30 dollars ranging from $70 to over $100 (WAY over contract) - without warning or explanation ever from company. I've made attempts just cancel my service, I've gotten switched from rep to rep getting told different things, and LIED to - (I've made over 10 calls) I was told by agent that if I waited 1 additional month to cancel, I'd waive fees. this was a lie. Now not only do I have the 280 cancellation fee, I have the cost of an additional month because I was lied to. thousands of people are complaining about the same thing. IF they can rip me off of hundreds of dollars, imagine the yearly total of their racket.

Directv in University Place, Washington - Illegally installed service, illegally placed dish on neghbors property

Directv recently installed service to my rental property without my consent. They caused hundreds of dollars in damage by drilling holes into my siding. They also installed the dish in the neighbors yard without his consent. It was poorly placed on the ground, surrounded by cinder blocks. Another neighbor tripped over the poorly placed dish and now might seek legal action for injuries suffered on his property. They would not move the dish after multiple requests by the neighbor who was illegally infringed on, and myself, the legal owner of the property. They are completely worthless when it comes to customer service. Don't ever use their service. They carlessly hook up your service and don't take any responsibility for their actions. They literally told me they would hook up service, drill holes, and destroy another house if I ask them to put service on a random strangers house. Losing my wits, I also asked if they'd install a dish in the middle of the *** highway for me.... They didn't respond. :) stay away!!!!!!!!

I am a Landlord and my tenant was allowed to have a dish installed in the yard (not on the house). However, DirectV installed the dish about 3 feet over onto the neighbors property.

The property owner is threatening to take me to court if I do not have it removed. I have contacted DirectV numerous times, and even filed a complaint with the BBB. I was told that once they install a dish, it becomes part of the property. The property owner will have to move it at THEIR expense.

Once it is removed, and their customer's service is disrupted; then they will come back to install a new dish. I even spoke to a technician when I saw him in the neighborhood, asked him about how to have the dish moved over. He replied "Well, I remember telling them that that was about the best place to put the dish for them to get the best reception". I said "Well, that is not on the property that they rented, and it needs to be moved.

How can I have it moved?" He replied,"I'm not sure what to tell you. You might just want to call DirectV."

Directv in Jacksonville, Florida - Direct TV

I started service with Direct TV in March of 2011. I lost my job in summer of 2011. I called and asked them how much would it be to restore the service once I was able to, they said the amount of your last bill plus a reactivation fee ($148). Shortly after they sent me a bill for a little over $800!!!! They claim I cancelled the contact, which I did not. So there was an early contract termination fee, also a fee for the equipment & lastly the final bill. I called them about this $800 & some change bill they sent me. I told them I didn't cancel the contract!! T I reminded them of what they'd told me reguarding having the services restored. They claimed they didn't tell me that & demanded 800 plus dollars to resume services. I asked to speak with a supervisor or manager whom was very rude & was no help. I've since reported Diect TV to the BBB (better business bureau). I did this is September of this year. To date they haven't responsed. I just wanted to restore services & I'm not paying them 800 bucks when I never canceled the contract & I still have the equipment. Has this happened to anyone else?? What do I do now?? Help!!

The BBB gets so many complaints against DTV, they normally do not answer them. You can also file complaints with the FTC and Attorney General but there is not a lot anyone can do at this point, but do make sure they do not have your bank account # or credit card# or they will charge these. They will probably put a bad report on your credit report but you can post an rebuttal on your credit report.

Directv in Burt, Michigan - Technical problems

This starting happening around 1 month ago. My channels will completely change, all of them are not the channel they say they are. It usually constricts the channels to only a few, like some spanish channel. I have to reset the box and it fixes it for like 10 minutes, but when i start watching it again, it would occasionally start lagging sort of. Then after a couple lags it switches back to the other channels. I even switched up the box and cables from my upstairs to my downstairs box, and it still is not working. It is really annoying and i need help to fix it please.

Its something called an appointment. I used to work for a TV company, and I tell you, this was the hardest complaint to deal with without yelling into the phone, Shut the *** up.

This means they are booked.

They're not going to push someone else's appointment to make room for an *** customer. Next time you complain THINK!

Other people pay their bills and other people need appointments. You are not the only customer.

I need to get 2 teeth fixed at the dentistandthat is much more important than tv and ihave to wait a week for an open appt. There is no difference.

If the appointments are booked then they are. Wait your turn like a grown adult and find something ekse to do.
