Directv in Itasca, Illinois - Changed nascar hotpass to hd only

Slipped a change for NASCAR Hotpass to HD only trying to shyster consumers into getting rental money for HD receiver and extra ten dollars a month in additional fees . Not interested in HD service or paying for something supposedly offered for free typical bait and switch shame o wn you directv.I cannot understand why you would choose to screw loyal customers this way unless it's a lame attempt to recoup expenses incurred in Viacom battle don't punish the few to recoup something you could solve with penny increase on alleged ten million satisfied viewers!!! Thanks for absolutely nothing.

Directv in Katy, Texas - Direct tv stinks

we are 75 and 72 years old, after 2 months the direct tv box failed . we called them and they said they will send us a new box but we have to install it ourselves. we both have bad eyesight and cant do that. they would not send out a tech. gut to do it. SO ALL OF YOU SENIORS OUR THERE, DONT GET DIRECT TV THEY ARE NOT SENIOR FRENDLY. TELL ALL YOUR SENIOR FRIENDS WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF THEY DEAL WITH DIRECT TV. TOO MANY COMPANIES TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE SENIOR CITIZENS AND I FOR ONE AM SICK AND TIRED OF IT. ALL YOU YOUNG PEOPLE SHOULD STICK UP FOR THE SENIORS, ITS YOUR MOM AND DAD AND GRANDMA. steve qualityprollc@hotmail.com

If you tell them youvare physically disabled enough you cannot dot it you can get a tech to come out free under the protection plan. Most people have a relative or neighbor willing to help which is why they push to have it shipped. Sometimes getting it shipped is faster than waiting for a tech to come out.

Directv in Irvine, California - Extended my contract 24 months without approval

I entered into a 24 month contract October 2010. At this time, I knew my son was graduating my college May 2012 so I figured I could buyout the 4 months remaining on the contract when he graduated. His apartment flooded in Sept 2011. One of the receivers was damaged by the water. I replaced the receiver with Direct TV. The receiver was installed, they claim it was upgraded. In addition, they claim that since the receiver was upgraded that I entered into a new 24 month contract! Never, ever, ever was this ordered or explained or requested. Direct TV has completely ripped me off! Furious doesn't begin to describe my frustration! It's unconscionable.

As horrible as it is..DirectTV does this all the time and they keep getting away with it! The class action law suits that have been filed against them does no good at all, they just continue with their illegal practices.

Dish is not any better!

they too pull the same type of things with their customers. I wish there was one thing that customers could do to stop these theiving companies from this type of thing but I know of none, other than to tell everyone not to use their service.

Directv - Direct TV installed 4' dish blocking ocean view
Directv - Direct TV installed 4' dish blocking ocean view
So pissed at Direct TV. We weren't paying attention to where the guy was installing the dish (which is 4' wide). He placed it right in front of the kitchen window, which had views of Downtown Honolulu and the ocean. When I called Direct TV and asked that they...

Directv in Gardendale, Alabama - Direct TV made prices sound one way then charged different.

I called about ATT.Net going up double and they put someone on the phone who told me he could lower it plus give me Direct TV for a price and then after I said yes sent a contract and confirmation to me which was all different with higher prices and lied right to all my questions. I asked them point blank how much the bill will be then asked after 12 months are up what is the bill for the next 12 months which it is a 24 month contract and was told only ten dollars. I called today and made the lady tell me what my bill was saying and boy was it NOT what I was told or fixed. I stopped the contract and they are supposed to refund my money to ship the dish. I am so PISSED OFF????

Chances are good that DTV will not cancel or have a record of your calling, they pull this old trick quiet often.I recommend that you change #'s or close account that you gave them because they are well known to charge your account for early cancellation fees without your permission.AT&T is in cahoots with DTV,they are partners in crime.I had them both for a while and I know just how dirty they both can be.Hope it works out good for you.

Directv in Saltillo, Mississippi - Poor image on internet of a great company

My wife and I were shocked that a major company in the greatest nation in the world would actually use an expression that is normally confined to the alley or the men's locker room or the ladies rest room. Please change the name of this complaint department ASAP. Call it what it is: a complaint. Do not continue to use an expression that is demeaning to a great firm. We realize that on late-night TV it is common to hear this word, but that does not mean that DirecTV has to fall into lock-step with a "low brow" expression. Dr. P. Blycker Edinburg, Texas

If you are talking about the name of this website it is not run by directv. And I know of no department at directv that uses a "bad" word as its title

Directv in Chicago, Illinois - Direct tv took $443.57 from my account. I don't have an account with direct tv!

I'm going to lose it! I allowed my brother in law to use my debit card several times to pay his Direct TV bill. My name is not on the direct tv account. When we used the automated system it asked if we wanted the account linked to the direct tv account. I always said no. He stopped paying and was disconnected. Today they took $443.57 from my account. I didnt realize it until the middle of the night. Of course theres no customer service at direct tv in the middle of the night. My lease is up in 27 days and I'm meeting a homeowner to put a deposit and first months rent on a house at 8:30 this morning. This was my nest egg for the house. Now I wont have enough money! I'm so screwed! Can they do this?!?! Just take money from an account that doesnt belong to the customer! Even if I can get my money it will take several business days. Can a demand a check? I need my freaking money now.. this is so wrong.

Hmmm you give someone a card to pay bills not in your name ...all companies keep cards on file. The guy could have approved use of the last card number used on his account.....next time pay your own bills only...if you want to help pay someone else's bill give them cash to put in their own account

Directv in Las Vegas, Nevada - DIRECT TV

I closed my account on June 10th due to moving to a location that Direct TV could not service. This is when the "run around" began in ending my contract, which if I moved to a location in which they could not provide service I wouldn't be charged. I went through an installation guy coming to my new property and verify that it was not possible for service. I then followed up on the process of my refund. They told me I needed a second opinion and scheduled another guy to come out, but told me I didn't have to be home. This was correct and happened. I then returned all of my equipment on July 6th. It was not processed until July 25th and they charged my bank account $445. After 2 weeks of another "run around" they verified they had the equipment and would process a refund. I was told it would be expedited and be 5 business days. When I didn't receive the refund on Aug. 3rd, I called again to follow up. I went through the automated system, which gave me a 1 minute dead air time in between 4 different selections. I was then connected and went directly to another hold, but this time with commercials instead of dead air. In my attempt to resolve my refund, the CS rep. just kept repeating the same info. and wasn't concerned with my refund - "no longer an active account." I asked for and after 5 more minutes of waiting was connected to a supervisor who was much more compassionate, but the best she said she could do is 10 more business days. She later called me back and told me that, "I'm sorry, but it will be 30 days." Bottom Line: Over 2 months from end of service to being able to close my account and get the money that is due me back. Did not do as promised and had very disappointing service.

Directv in San Francisco, California - Direct TV is Ridiculous they dont care

We've been in a contract with direct tv since 2009 and now we decided to move to AT&T to save money because we received a better deal. It's not that we didn't like direct tv, we actually chose them over comcast. Now that we're trying to cancel it they are charging us an earlier cancellation fee because we had added a receiver recently. However, we already had that receiver. We basically just deactivated it becuase no one was using it. Since my brother in law moved in, we added a receiver, but its basically just replacing what we already had. Direct Tv never told us about the contract because we've been an existing contract with them. So now that we already installed AT&T, direct Tv is charging us for the *** cancellation fee for a contract that we've been for 3 yrs. In addition, they overcharged us and we paid for it.this is what we get in return. I recommend to everyone to get AT&T instead because Direct Tv only wants to get your money and they dont care about their customers

Directv in Baltimore, Maryland - FALSE ADVERTISEMENT

I went to the Direct TV web page I was directed to my Google serch engine and selected the "$44.99" Ultimate package. When the online chat person got finished with me, I was told that same package would cost me $78.99 per month. All of the so called "free" HD receivers came with $6 per month service fee. I was considering changing to Direct TV because of the NFL package. There were several other fees that are hidden in the advertisements. It's unfortunate that a company has to resort to these tactics for business. At least Verizon is honest about their exorbitant prices & fees. BUYER BEWARE!!! .
