Directv is Unbelievably Awful

DIRECTV just sent me a bill for movies that I ordered seven years ago. I cancelled their service about a month ago and sent back all the equipment and cards as required. Over the years DIRECTV sent me cards saying Happy Anniversary, we are giving you free movies for being a loyal customer. Apparently I didn't read the fine print that says I have to send the card back to get the credit on my account. I also didn't have the box connected to my phone line. A month after I cancelled the service and sent the cards back I get a bill for the movies. I called customer service and they basically said I should have read the fine print on their gift!!! Imagine that! Thanks DIRECTV for the awful customer service!

Directv in Portland, Oregon - Direct TV has been using my check card following cancellation

Direct TV did not follow through in March when I informed customer service that I would be moving with the exact date. This rep said he could not officially cancel my service at that time but would have someone call me who could. During this time of moving and transfering accounts I forgot that they did not call me. It was after my move in May that I noticed on my statements that $330 was deducted using my check card that I had just authorized for March and April's payment. Once I called and complained they told me that once I send back the equipment that I they would deduct the $120 early cancellation fee and I would be refunded the rest. Yesterday, July 1 while checking my checking account I find that they deducted $172.46 using my check card number. I had instructed them earlier to not deduct anything without my permission and a bill must be sent. I talked to again a supervisor who told several stories as why this was done and none made sense. I asked to speak to his supervisor and was told that I couldn't because his supervisor doesn't talk to customers and there is no place I could go to place a complaint. I could even hear a group of men in the background laughing at what I was saying. This is highway robbery and no customer service other than mock and argue with their customers.

Switchef to dish and paided my final directv bill get a statement saying I owe $0.00, then they send me a $10 check. THEN SEND ME A MOVIE BILL FOR $106 FOR MOVIES FROM 2005 THAT I NEVER SERN! Iregused to psu because refuse to pay for something I didn't receive, its gone into collection! Directv are scam artist! My package plan statted at $42 then went up yo $69 making my bill like $95 after taxes, with same channels at dish my total bill runs btw 50 n 60 bucks! DIRECTV you suck!!!! Recommend noone gets yhiet service!!!

Directv in Atlanta, Georgia - No tv for three days

I've had no tv for three days but, I can see why people go to time-warner. with satellite tv on cloudy, foggy, or snowie days you cant get any tv signals. I find that very unwelcomeing to know that I'm paying for something that I'm not getting. you have to find a way to compensate the people that use your service for not getting the service they are paying for. I'm thinking of going back to time-warner I don't agree with how they handel thing but, I know that I can turn on my tv and have the service that I'm paying for.

i do not have an account with direct tv. however i let a freind use my debit card to make a payment. then 9 months later my bank account gets raided. Direct tv took 1350 dollars from my account. and when i contacted direct tv i have been getting the run around. its been 7 days and still have not heard back from them. i have called several times and keep getting transfered. sounds to me like they are reading from a script. no one there uses common sense. i am glad i do not have them and i would not recommend them for anything service

You should never let anyone use you card to pay for services that arent yours. All companies keep card numbers on file for any future fees....i am not saying what was done was right but at any time your "friend" could say...use the card i gave you last time.

Hate to tell you this, but I would be surprised if they every contact you or if they ever refund you. The customer service reps don't know a thing and their surpervisors are there only to argue and get a person more angry.

Then they will laugh at you. There is no customer service and no one to go to to resolve issues.

Direct TV SUCKS. Do you want to know why? Unlike Service Electric Cable TV Direct TV makes you pay for sports even local sports games. Service Electric Cable TV always has the local sports on and a lot of sports games that arent local for free. That is why I would Pick Service Electric Cable TV over Direct TV any day. If Direct TV stopped changing its channels all of the time and had local sports games on TV at least people wouldnt be so pissed off at it. Direct TV used to have sports games all the time Like Reply

Directv in Auxvasse, Missouri - DirectTV misleading ad

Direct TV has a big ad on the home page that says they are offering a FREE internet connection kit to get internet on demand video through the TV set. But when you click the big orange "order now" button it takes you to a shopping cart where you are charged $79.00 + shipping for the "free kit". There is no phone number to call or explanation for this on the site so I looked up the customer service number and called. I was told the kit is free only if you call to request it NOT when you click the big orange button under the free ad. So I am getting it free, but I was one careless click away from being charged almost $90 for it. The ad is very MISLEADING and is not the first time I have seen this kind of bait and switch tactic from DirectTV.

Direct-tv sent me a return label,so I could return the equipment I went to my local post office and the the equipment was returned to direct -tv.Now direct-tv claim they never recieved the equipment,so they turned it over to a collection company claiming I owe them...

Please people don't ever get Direct TV! They lie about everything.

Cost of plans -how to return equipment etc.

If you cancel Direct TV just take everything to the UPS Store- they will scan it and give you a equipment return receipt. Just make sure you don't lose it as Direct TV is noted for saying you DID NOT RETURN the equipment and trying to charge you for it.

Directv in Phoenix, Arizona - They try to Pull the wools over your eyes

When I signed a 2 year contract with direct t.v. I was told there was a price lock and it wouldn't go up for the first year. I signed up in Dec 2012 and in Jan I noticed the remote went up $1.00 each as I started reading through the bills every month they were slowly raising one thing or another. Then the Viacom drama happens: Do they understand what a day without spongebob, sandy, patrick and squidward means to a household with kids. No vh1 etc... I think we should be compensated for loss programming! They had the contract with Viacom....We had a contract with direct t.v. so they broke the contract by not delivering what they promised!God forbid your late with a payment, they charge you a late charge I am so sick of getting screwed over by these big companies I want compensation!

Agree, they broke their contract with the public without compensation to the users, if anything my bill went up a few more dollars, from 98 to 106. But I do gotta say dish network and phone companies are right up there with direct tv. They want more and more of your money but there is no compensation to us the consumer for their breech of contracts.
