When I agreed to return to directv the representative told me it was a 2 year - one price contract, total $62.89. My internet is with a local provider and I have been with my current cell phone company for 10 years all told to the sales representative.

After a year my bill went to $110.46. Getting someone to help is non existent. Then someone checked the recording of my initial contract and reversed the charges to $62.89, even sent me an e-mail confirming. The next month it went back up to $110.46 The next representative denied the email came from Directv although it has the name and date sent.

After wanting to cancel he said he could give it to me for $75.00 a month.

No way!!! Then they charged me a cancellation fee of $200.00 for their breaking the contract.

Review about: Directv Internet Plan.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $200.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

I didn't like: Service representatives.

Nothing unusual---they lied to you. Common practice to lure you in.

You need to read your contract, always and not believe anything they say until you can verify it.

Don't pay the cancellation fee. Take the "hit" and go elsewhere for service.


Do you have the initial contract in writing? If not, then you are basically screwed. You should NEVER sign up for ANYTHING without a contract in writing in hand.
