Directv in San Diego, California - The worst customer service in the world!

I needed information re cancelling my DirecTV account when I move out of state. What I discovered is that they will turn my service off immediately when I call, but will not send the boxes to return the equipment for 7 days! Therefore, I will be without any news or TV access that entire time. The customer service representative (in some foreign country) was completely non-responsive, just mouthing the same script over and over again. Don't deal with DirecTV (AT&T) if you need real customer service. In addition, their computerized phone system is also terrible, routing me through endless options and STILL putting me through to the wrong person.

7/26/15 I contacted DIRECT TV on June 5th to cancel NFL Sunday Ticket got an overdraft alert from my bank for the month of July I was still being charged for Sunday ticket Called DIRECT TV talked to some amazing customer service people on 7/26/15 who informed me there was nothing they could do to refund my money back to my card today and they would have to send it to their finance department and I probably won't be reimbursed for the next 5 to 10 days So I ask to speak to someone else and they referred me to the supervisor "SANDY " she said when I called to cancel on June 5th the person put it in the notes but was suppose to transfer me to another department so it could be removed So I asked to speak to her boss because of their error and she said there's no one over her So I said everybody has a boss because I know she is not the CEO of DIRECT TV It's called Direct tv not "Sandy tv " and mind you she proceed to keep apologizing but not one time did she even make the attempt to compensate me because of their error until I mentioned it She is not a person that needs to be referred to in hopes of trying to defuse the situation because she didn't do anything but make matters worst

Directv in Ventura, California - MISLEADING DECEPTIVE

Contacted DIRECTV Friday evening 1/9/2015. My son was unable to watch recorded programs. He was getting a red circle next to programs recorded stating unable to play due to some sort of conflict with a DVR in another room. No one else was home watching TV. I had this problem before and DIRCTV sent me additional DVR’s at my cost to solve the problem, it did not. Contacted DIRECTV, specifically told the DIRECTV representative I wanted the latest equipment to solve this problem without any additional cost or a new contract. I informed him if unable to do so to please transfer me to the department to cancel my service. Representative informed me he was sending me new genies to solve my problem. He stated he needed to transfer me to a department to confirm the order. Transferred, other representative told me conversation was being recorded and explained same details about new equipment being sent to me. Right at the end of the conversation the representative stated this would begin a new 24 month contract. I immediately stated I did not agree to a contract extension and I had been very specific with the first representative. I then ask to be transferred to cancellation department. After several minutes of arguing about being transferred representative stated unable to do so. Later stated not allowed to. I then ask which is it. Unable or not allowed. Rep stated not allowed to. I ask to speak to supervisor. Supervisor (Karen, # 715938) stated not allowed to transfer me until I agree to the order I made with the first representative. I stated you have got to be kidding, I’m not agreeing to any order I did not agree to. Representative kept insisting I agree to order, then contact them once order arrives to return and cancel. I inform the supervisor she was an *** and hung up. I called back ask for cancellation department and scheduled my cancellation for later in the month when my billing cycle ended. Bunch of unprofessional people, having a process in place to make it difficult for subscribers to cancel. I will contact the appropriated agencies to file a complaint.

Directv in Long Beach, California - Mrs. Rebecca Apiz-Sacks

I became a widow last year and have had to move in with a friend due to financial difficulties due to the loss of my husband. My friend already has a cable service contract with another company. Therefore, I was not able to transfer my service to my new address. According to your billing services, I owe $300.00 for an early cancellation fee. I have explained my situation to your agent,Oscar, who said he did not have the capacity to do anything to help me. I asked for his supervisor named Jose who asked me this question over an over again "what payment arrangements would you like to make?" I explained my situation again to Jose. My bank account balance will not be sufficient to cover the charge that is to take place from your company in 15 days. I would like to have the balance lowered and to be able to pay it in parts. I can send you my husband's death certificate as proof of my situation. Your assistance is appreciated. Rebecca Apiz-Sacks

The only reason you would have an early cancellation fee was if you agreed to keep service for a certain length of time. Now you want to break that agreement cause you can get free service somewhere else?

Tough luck. Own up to your responsibility and stop whining.

Dont want to have a contract for a certain period of time? Dont sign the agreement.

It is simple and part of being an adult. Sounds like you want everyone to adjust the rules just for you.

To the individual who said "stop whining". I don't think you read my post completely, because your comments make no sense.

I can tell you have never lost a spouse and that you have no idea how difficult life becomes emotionally and monetarily after such a loss. Yes, it is difficult for me to pay the entire $300.00 penalty right away instead of in parts as I requested. Gee, from what you said I guess you think my husband and I shouldn't have signed up for Direct TV because we should have known that he was going to die from a heart attack a few months later at at such a young age. Sorry you think I'm "whining" and, by the way - many thanks for your condolences - I hope you and your significant other (if you have one)have a long and prosperous life .

Sorry for your loss.Yes, do close the account and open a new one or DTV will help themselves to whatever amount they decide they want and will leave your account over drawn and then there will be problems with the bank and it's impossible to get your money back. I do not believe DirectTV answers any of these post on this site.

Directv in Brea, California - HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

I had DIREECTV service for almost 1 year and never had a contract. At the 9th month or so I had a problem with their service. Channels were not clear and chennels were mixing here and there and audio issue. They send a tech service guy and they put in a new receiver and the problem got resolved. At the completion of 1 year, they icreased the price to $79.99. I cancelled the Service. They charged me 200 for early termination fee. I called them, and they said, I upgraded my receiver. I just had a problem and they put in a new receiver and they say, I upgraded. I was on the phone more than 1.5 hrs and they are not convinced. Then, I involved BBB for this and then DIRECTV could not produce any proof for me requesting for upgrade. Then they reversed the charges. I returned the equipment. I saved the tracking number and saw Directv received this equipement. One month after they received this, I was billed another $200 for equipement + non return fee. When I called them, they still say, they didn't recieve and transfer to another rep, she will ask the same quiestions and play back the same music. Then I asked them to connect to a supervisor, they played the music and disconnected. THIS IS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE. They have ads all over TV saying best customer satisfaction. But this is the QUALITY of Service. I will never go back to them or recommend this to any of my friends.

Have had DirecTV for 6 years now, first 3-4 years they were great. Since then prices keep going up, customer says no charge then the charge appears on my bill.

Charging me for services and receivers I didn't want and didn't aghree to. Installers on my Hd upgrade just left the old dish on the ground after he was done installing the new one.

New HD DVR installed a year ago does funny things very month or so, have to reset it every so often.

What of laugh their commercials are!!!!!

Just another America greedmonster company. Hope our elected reps are enjoying all the pac money from all these greedmonster companies and their lobbists.

I keep my finances tight. I went out to lunch yesterday, and when the waiter brought my card back to me, looking me up and down, and told me that it was declined I knew there was a mistake. I told him to try it again. Declined.

Online, I found that DirecTV had take tons of cash out to pay my dad's TV service! He was behind once, and I paid this for him. I told the representative there that this was going to be a one-time payment on behalf of my dad.

When I called DirecTV, I was put in touch with Abraham. Smug, non-helpful, rude. He told me that DirecTV had an agreement with me that they could use my card for payments. I told him to show me this agreement, where did I sign that? He said no agreements at DirecTV need a signature, and they would not refund my money.

I called my bank. They took my debit card and shredded it. They're issuing another one, it will be ready in 7 to 10 working days. I also filed a dispute, 7 to 10 working days.

DirecTV - this is no way to win customers. If I took money out of anybody else's account without permission...I'd be in jail. That's the type of customer service (and satisfaction) that you're providing. I will never do business with you, and I will strongly discourage anybody from becoming associated with you. Thinking about DirecTV? Want to be nice and offer a gift to a loved one by making a one-time payment on their TV? Don't, believe me. This is a crooked organization. I wouldn't even let my own mother take money out of my account without permission. And that's exactly what this company does.

This is thievery, plain and simple.
