If you are joint billed that might be the issue, Call AT&T at their general customer service line (800 288 2020) and tell the representative you would like to talk to someone who can cancel BOTH accounts at one time, and if they seem hesitant ask for the department by name, Department is called "Integrated Service Loyalty" they would be the people you might need to speak with to make sure joint billing disclosures are given in full and understood.

Now if you are do not have your att and directv bill combined (joint billed) than go call directv at their general customer service number (800 531 5000) and then ask the representative you speak with to be transferred to the DirecTV Customer Loyalty Group.

Details
Direct TV has replaced my AM 21 and 22 for local channels 4 times in three years. Now they will not replace it, telling me they are no longer made, so no network television IE ABC CBS Fox NBC etc. What that means is no DVR recording and I would need to use an off air antenna for the locals with probable reception. They now have the nerve to want an $80.00 cancellation fee for partial service plus extra cost programming I did not order. I was their customer for the previous 20 years, but that's before AT&T bought them.

The Directv incompetence is widespread. It began with a technician that showed up for install and said that he could not change out the actual dish. Dish TV put it up in the winter with snow on the ground. Directv was putting it up on a sunny warm day with no wind. The Directv technician said it was not safe to put his ladder up and said it could be placed on a pole in the backyard or not at all. I left a message for his supervisor and did not receive a call back. I called AT&T and they cancelled my old subscription and gave me a new one and a new service date to have the dish installed. The problem is they also cancelled the email I gave to them when they cancelled my original service. I called back and was disconnected many times (I lost track after about the eighth time) and was told that they could not reconnect my email with my Directv account. I had no way off accessing my online content or the ability to see my service plan and bill. I finally was able to speak with a supervisor who told me there was nothing they could do and that I should just get a new email and everything would be fine. So, I'm supposed to create an all new email to just access my Directv account. What an insane response. She then said it was definitely their fault for the mistakes but there was nothing further they could do. She said I was going to be getting a great service and should just change my email. When I expressed that was not going to happen and to transfer me to their IT department she did and I spent an hour on the phone before getting disconnected. They had a call back number and never called back. I tried to call back several times but the customer service would not solve the problem and kept transferring me. Every time they did I would be placed on hold and then get disconnected, after approximately a 1-2 hour wait time. The customer service reps and supervisors may have been nice when they answered the phone but the could not help, were completely incompetent and never returned phone calls. DISH TV was much better. The only reason I was leaving them was because of AT&T buying Directv and providing a good package plan. It's not worth it. Directv has the worst customer service and incompetence I have ever seen in any company across the board. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Direct tv has not worked to negotiate terms with WTVA Tupelo MS. This is my favorite channel. If they can't live up to the terms I signed up for them I don't intend to keep my account. Every other channel I turn to has now been taken off the air. I suggest a quick fix or you are going to lose customers to DISH.
