Was a customer for 18 years wanted to talk about high prices was told there was nothing they could do. I signed up for a streaming service with more channels for $100 a month less.
Called in to cancel my direct tv service and all of a sudden they had a deal for $100 less told them no just cancel. About a year ago I added 2 genie minis to my account that I purchased from ebay and installed myself (no investment on direct tv's part) they tell me that because I added those if you read the fine print I extended my contract and that I would have to pay $150.00 cancelation fee.
Almost criminal if you ask me after being a customer for that long. *** company dont sign up!!!

After being a loyal subscriber of 20 uninterrupted years, I finally had enough and cancelled my subscription yesterday. My reasons were the cost, the nearly 9 month blackout of both CBS and ABC as well as no effort from DirectTV to figure out a way for subscribers to view the Super Bowl.
The game was available on multiple streaming platforms, yet DirectTV offered no alternate viewing options. Today, Rebecca from their Retention dept. called me to too attempt to retain me. Well, Rebecca needs some hard-core, focused training on customer service.
While explaining the reasons why I cancelled, she interrupted me multiple times and when so asked her to let me finish, she said she wasnt interrupting me, she was talking to another person in her ear and was trying to tell them to stop interrupting! Really?! Total customer service failure! You would think that after losing nearly 50% of their subs since AT&T purchased them, they would have done some stellar CS training to stop the bleeding!
NOPE! They have people like Rebecca interrupting customers, talking to OTHER people while on the phone with customers and treating customers with absolutely ZERO respect.

Verified Reviewer | Cornelia, GeorgiaDoes not let you close your account easily, even though you’ve been a dedicated customer. Do not follow through for you to be able to do what is required to close. Then charge more.
