When I was approached in Oct 2010 by direct tv for services, I was informed that i would get local channels.I agreed and installation was completed.

At that time, I could not get the local channels as promised, only to be promised local channels by Jan 2011. When Jan 2011 arrived I was told that in the future when the satellites are installed then would I get local channels. I then cancelled services only to see the $380 early cancellation fee.

I WILL NOT PAY THIS DUE TO SERVICES NOT PROVIDED AS STATED.Direct tv is a rip off!!

You did not say where you saw the cancellation fee for $380. If it was on your bank statement, call your bank and ask if you can dispute charges.some banks will let you,others will not.If it was on a credit card, call the card and dispute the charges and if the cc does accept the dispute,you may have to close the account or change the number to prevent DTV from reapplying the charge later.Go to eHow.com and read how others have done this paste/copy this:How to Cancel DirecTv Service & Stop, Avoid or Reverse Early Cancellation Fee
