I have not signed a contract with Direct TV, I have had it for about 8 yrs. THEY WILL NOT LET ME CANCEL MY ACCOUNT, until the bill is paid in full.

I have the same receivers that I had when I purchased it. Have not changed anything on the account, added anything and it has gone up 30 dollars. I am not going to pay 91 dollars for their pour customer service.

I am not sure it is legal since I NEVER signed a contract. Their customer service department is RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, AND MUCH MORE !

Ask them to send you boxes to return their equipment and be sure to get a tracking # to prove they get it. If they have any account numbers on file for you,change the #'s or close account.This will prevent them from accessing your account.This does not sound legal but when is anything DirectTV does legal?

It is far easier to prevent them form accessing your account than it is to try and get your money back after the fact that they have taken it. Good Luck
