I've had direct tv for about three months.My friends tell me how great it is to have a DVR so I called direct tv yesterday hoping to get one installed.

The woman I spoke to did not speak good English which tells me this company outsources to Peru or somewhere where they probably can't even afford tv's. (This is good for the American job market) She said it would cost $200 since I was a new customer. Is this a way to treat a new customer, I am wondering. It would have been free if I would have ordered it at the start.

After reading complaint after complaint on this site it seems to me the only way to stop this is to cancel the credit card they have on file and return their equipment.I don't want my credit rating hurt but there is only so much greediness people can take.
