I used Direct TV for few years, had few DVR, but also bought one DVR at Costco.
After the contract with Direct TV ends, I returned all DVRs and receiver to Direct TV, except the one I bought from Costco.
Direct TV requested me to send them the DVR I bought. I sent Direct TV my receipt of purchse, etc., talked different people at Direct TV but it insists I need to ship the DVR back.
I called Costco about the issue and Cost told me to "return" the DVR to Costco (after two years). I did and Costco gave me the full refund.
I sent the receipt of purchase/return to Direct TV thinking it is done. Direct TV sent me to collection anyway. I always pay my bills but this is rediculous.
I checked the record, realized I have talked to them on 1/14, 1/15, 3/17, 4/23, 6/11, 8/26, 11/6, 12/7 of 2009. After Direct TV sent me to collection, I have talked to Direct TV on 5/5/2010, 6/23 and 7/1, wasted so much time.
I will get my attorney to send them a letter soon.
