I was a customer of Direct Tv for over three years.Every time the wind blew the picture would go out, in winter I had to clean snow off the dish.

I purchased a HD DVR at Best Buy and a HD receiver on Ebay. When I cancelled service they want the receivers sent back. I stated that I have receipts that I bought the receivers. The first person at customer service had no idea.

The second said that all receivers are their property and I was only leasing it, such as leasing a car. She said in the fine print of the receipt it would state that. I said that "In other words you screwed me out of 200 bucks." She replied prety much. If I don't return the receiver I will get billed for $400.00.

She said that the ones on sale at ebay shouldn't be.

Getting a tech out to the house to adjust the dish in the summer when it would not work, was like asking for an act of God.For all of their fees that they charge i didn't feel it was my job to climb on the roof and adjust their dish.
