I've been a customer of directTV for nine years. When I could no longer afford direct TV I call them and told them of my financial situation.
I was told that I was under contract with them a another year. I continued to pay even though it put considerable strain on my finances. Jan. 17 was the end of the contract.
I call direct TV and told them that I would like to the end of my contract. They did so and the next three days turned into a nightmare they charged my checking account 88.69 dollars and bill me $432.00 for their box. When I call to tell them that the contract was over they said that I had renewed the contract because they sent me a read placement box because the old one stop working. It in the sometime to straighten out this matter and they finally realize that it was a mistake.
I think these companies are taking advantage of you. Whenever someone says in the future to sign a contract for phone service television service I will go with out television or phone service I will never sign another contract because there are so many in things in it you get taking advantage of hope that direct TV will miss the nine years I was a customer.
