When DIRECTV merged (or was bought by) AT&T the need to contact them ESCALATED significantly. It was as if a "magic button had been pushed and OVERALL SERVICE fell like never before!

I called about an issue with the REMOTE CONTROL. "Fast Forward" has a 20 second "lag" before it did ANYTHING and then when it began the "FF" function IT WOULD NOT STOP! Recorded programs would "FF" to the 'END OF THE RECORDING".

CHANGING CHANNELS: The "UP-DOWN" button simply stopped working at all! Entering the channel number directly immediately took us CHANNEL "9999" for an UNWANTED COURSE IN HOW TO OPERATE THE ENTIRE UNIT.

They REPEATEDLY had us SEND REPORTS (electronicall) so "THE ENGINEERS" could evalute what MIGHT BE happening. A "CLEARMYBOX" was performed at least a FIVE TIMES.

The ENGINEERS apparently were ALL TOO FAMILIAR with problems HOWEVER they also were NEVER ABLE TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE!

BAD BAD BAD BAD and HORRIBLY BAD SERVICE.

CONTRACT UP in three months.. then I will switch to DISH and have a long list of NEW JUNK PROBLEMS!
