There is not one good thing to point to about DirecTV's customer service. Not one.
In no area do they even do an adequate job, much less excel. Every interaction with DirecTV customer service leaves the customer feeling frustrated, violated, taken advantage of, and swindled. It couldn't possibly be worse. Want to add HBO?
Do it on-line, no problem. Want to CANCEL HBO, you must call this 800 number, sit on hold for 20 minutes, and beg the DirecTV rep to stop trying to sign you up for new stuff and just cancel it. Want to reduce your programming package? You can only see some of the most expensive packages on-line.
Want to know what's in those cheaper plans that you can't see on line? They'll maybe email you a channel listing, eventually. Good luck. Want to schedule a service call?
Don't call DirecTV if you're not at home. They cannot proceed with scheduling a service call unless you're at home and can entertain their desire to AGAIN troubleshoot the same problem you've called about before and already determined with them that the equipment needs to be replaced.
