Directv in San Diego, California - The worst customer service in the world!

I needed information re cancelling my DirecTV account when I move out of state. What I discovered is that they will turn my service off immediately when I call, but will not send the boxes to return the equipment for 7 days! Therefore, I will be without any news or TV access that entire time. The customer service representative (in some foreign country) was completely non-responsive, just mouthing the same script over and over again. Don't deal with DirecTV (AT&T) if you need real customer service. In addition, their computerized phone system is also terrible, routing me through endless options and STILL putting me through to the wrong person.

Don't get sucked in by the shiny advertisements. Everything is great until you're locked into a 2 year contract. When we contacted AT&T about moving our internet service and possibly setting up TV service at our new address they promised us the moon and have yet to deliver on any of it. We decided to go ahead and have a dish installed. We were told that if we added a new TV to our household at a later date, we could hook it up to the cable service at no additional cost, all we would need is an additional receiver. The AT&T technician who installed our dish and hooked up service at our new address reiterated the same information. Tried calling AT&T this afternoon and hung up after 25 minutes of holding. Got online and tried to set it up through the chat, was transferred 3 times EVEN THOUGH I told the first two representatives exactly where I needed to go. Had to repeat my request and provide my account information to every representative just to be told by the last rep that the only way I was getting a new receiver was for $99 plus S&H. When I advised them of the promise made to me, I was told I could try contacting the sales department to see if they had any deals. When I asked to have the cable service moved to another room, I was told to contact account management, who told me that there was nothing I could do unless I wanted to pay $99 for the visit. Then I was informed that the sports channels that I paid extra for, wouldn't work unless I purchased the accommodating package as well. Don't get stuck in a contract with these people like we did. I didn't think it could get worse than Comcast and now their customer service is looking like a dream. DON'T DO IT!

Directv in Roland, Arkansas - $400 to Move my Service?

I am moving less than 5 miles away and Direct TV want to charge $400 to move my service. They offered a 1/2 off for $199, but they are not providing anything other than the labor. I am mot willing to pay $199 for less than an hour of labor. This is a total rip off!

They lied to me every month my bill came in it was higher. I had to move Feb 2017, when I made the call to transfer services they told me I HAD to purchase a Gennie mini because I was moving and adding 1 more tv. I agreed to make the purchase. WHAT NO ONE TOLD ME was that because I was moving I was singing a brand new contract for another 2 years. That because I was moving I was loosing my 12 month discount ???????? That by moving my bill would go up twice as much as it use to be and now that I want to cancel my services I would have to pay a 436.00 cancelation fee EVEN THOUGH NO ONE TOLD ME I WAS SINGING A NEW CONTRACT JUST BECAUSE I HAD TO MOVE. *** DIRECT TV. ITS ON THE NEWS THAT 155 MILLION CUSTOMERS ARE UN HAPPY. THIS IS A *** SHAME.

My direct TV popped code 775, I called technical service who ordered me a new swim box.. she was very helpful.. swimbox came in and didn't work.. but I also needed to schedule an emergency move due to electrical issues at current residence.. I called movers department, who said customer service could help me set the fees up on my bill, so I didn't have to pay them up front and then they could schedule the move.. they transferred me to customer service.. a man who told me his name was ran customer service I'd 112873.. told me I had to call the movers department.. I told him they had transferred me to him to get fees put on my bill, he told me he could not.. I said ok.. I want my service put on hold due to I have not had a connection since April 23rd if u can't transfer it I want it put on hold.. he told me movers department can do it when I call them to schedule transfer.. I repeatedly tried to explain they transferred me to him.. he kept cutting me off giving me the movers department number.. I asked to speak to a supervisor he told me there was none.. he was very rude.. I was on hold with movers Dept the first time 30 minutes I was on hold customer service 15 minutes.. I argued with him about calling back about 15 minutes and that he didn't have a supervisor a couple more.. someone who can help please contact me asap

Details
Owners of the house I was renting decided to sell and I was forced to move out. I've been trying to get my service transferred to my new place for about 3 weeks now but direct tv keeps sending the technicians to the old address even though I've told them my new address numerous times. I've spent about 5-6 hrs total talking to them on the phone and I don't see them giving me a solution anytime soon. Worst customer service I have ever had. Comcast transferred my service 2 days afternoon I called them.

My ex wife and I had att internet and directv for service before we moved and everything was fine. We found out we had to move and they wanted to charge us over 200 dollars in moving costs. We finally got the moving costs voided because our first move was free. After wr moved the bill got separated and was never correct. We finally called and canceled because we could not afford their new bill that they provided us. So we finally got our account canceled and around tax time they took out over 300 dollars for the cancellation fee. They did not call me or let us know in any way shape of form to let me know they were going to take it out. Well my ex wife called to try and get it put back in the account and both times she called she was told it would be put back in my account. It is now march 15th 2017 and now refund and 327 dollars less than what I had and did I mention that one of the times my ex called they wanted to take an additional 300 out and she put a stop to that. So who ever decides to get att do not go with them because they are liers thieves and know nothing about customer service. I at this moment have comcast for internet and playstation vue for tv with my own modem and router. Have fun att.

I got service from DirecTV and then the house I was living within became intolerable there and the owner would not fix the things that there was some terrible things wrong with it we had to move. Now I'm trying to pay that because there's a huge fee for moving out and I'm trying to pay it off monthly and I've already paid $50 and now they have account that's not available so I can't pay anymore on it anyway I don't have the money to pay $400 right off the top and I am trying to pay it off I'm trying to honestly pay you off and it doesn't look like they're going to let me do it period and you have accepted last month's $50 payment. I just want to pay it off I'm willing to pay on it every single month even though it's a large amount of money that I feel like I'm just burning my money. I didn't have a place to move into to change service over to that place I'm living in a place that already has a service from you.

I have been a loyal customer of Directv for almost 11 years. I have never missed a payment, never delinquent with a payment, and would be considered as a loyal customer. I enjoyed the services and dealings with Directv throughout the years. However, since the acquisition of AT&T my service, billing, customer service, etc. has been deplorable and unacceptable at best. I had the ultimate package with Directv, which was considered to be their best package at the time dating back to 2006. Recently, I moved. Prior to my move I called a representative from Directv (now through AT&T) about the Directv movers deal. I was ensured it would be a seamless transition and would keep my same channels. In addition, I was informed about a loyalty program for customers such as myself that have been long-term customers. The representative, told me that they don't publicize the program because long-term customers may not be as diligent as I have been without missing a payment and have never shown to be delinquent with payments. Not only was I assured that I would keep my existing channels, I would obtain several more with the premium package. Seems like a decent proposition so far, right? Wrong!!! I have been over charged for the last 7 months. The channel packed promised to me has been wrong for the last 7 months. I have been on the phone with representatives and supervisors within the service, billing and customer service departments for the last 7 months for numerous hours, and nothing has been resolved. I have already notified my family and friends about the unprofessional, incompetent and bait and switch tactics used by Directv/AT&T. I am not writing this out of spite or anger. I am writing this out of frustration and misleads along with not getting the services I was promised/agreed to for months. I still have no resolution to the multitude of issues. So, as I told my family and friends I would highly recommend everyone that reads this to use any other provider except Directv/AT&T to save yourself from frustrations, numerous hours on the phone, not given what was promised by accepting the terms over a recorded conversation, and having the same disappointing experience. I have exhausted all my options because no one within Directv/AT&T is willing to accommodate their customers, so I will be taking my services elsewhere.

Photo conv. Last May, were told if we would switch account from my name to wife's name would be considered new account. We did so and have had billing problems ever since. Got another letter today from a collection agency. We've probably spent 20 hours on the phone and have been told numerous times that issue has been resolved. This is one sorry company to deal with.
