Direct TV stored and charged my credit card without any authorization or even informing me after we discontinued our services. I found out by checking my American Express credit card on line that I have been charged $305.53 from Direct TV.

This was completely NOT Authorized charge.

I did contact them and I was told that this is a final bill for the account, which was not even in my name, but my husband's, because I have made in the past payments using my credit card. I did not give them permission to store and keep my card, no to use it for any future payments and I did not authorized such payment .

Reason of review: Problems with payment.

Monetary Loss: $306.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

Directv Cons: Unauthorized charges, Lack of concern for unsatisfied customers, Unethical business practice, And they neglected to tell me the i was locked in for 2 years.

Same thing happened to me they told me I gave them authorization to every month when I called to pay my bill but I said that was for the one time payment. So they took out whatever they want! Good luck

Actually you did give permission tby useing the card or authorizing its use how ever the payment was made card on file policy that stated the card would be kept on file for unpaid balances. Sounds like you should be mad at your husband but he's happy now he won't get a hit on his credit read sentions 3 and 5 when you authorized the use to make a payment you authorized it to be held on file

You must be an imbecile working for Direct TV. By law, you cannot keep a card on file unless you give a written or verbal authorization.

If you use a card for a one time payment, it does not automatic give permission to charge future payments. You are the reason for the demise of this horrible company.

But that is where your wrong if you made the payment online it was in the terms of service, if you use a rep to make the payment youbor the person you authorized to use the card where told either way by confirming payment you authorized it to be kept on file, perfectly legal. A dispute will put a temporary credit to your account until dtv sends a copy of the agreement to them, amex is the easiest to get to deny a charge back and dtv will get the money, is it right maybe not, is it legal absolutely
