We switched to hulu live. Bill went from $146 per month at DirecTV to $40 and we get all the networks we care about as well as DVR and better on demand library than DTV.

We have the playlist bug and a new bug where the live buffer doesn't fill in the background while you watch a recorded show. When you go back to the live show it starts at real time and you can't rewind the buffer.

AT&T's acquisition of DTV has turned out to be a big financial mistake for them according to wall st analysts. Expect AT&T run it as a commodity similar to cable. Don't expect any new innovation and spending only as much as they need to keep it functional. The fact they no longer fix bugs makes me wonder if they have already decided to allow it to die a slow death.

A tip for those of you still at DirecTV, call them once a year and ask to cancel your service. They will pile on discounts to keep you. The last discounts we got were $60/month of the bill for 12 months and free HBO for 6 months. They don't even make you sign a new contract anymore.
