Directv - Service Transfer Review from Chicago, Illinois

A lot of what you read is false information given by angry customers who called and did not get their way. I know for a fact that direct TV does not "raise" your bill after a year you actually are subject to paying regular price for their services after discounts that they generously give expire. People who pay their bills and read it every month are not such *** about their service. I seen a few times that "they take you channels away that's the only way to lower a bill" duh idots you want to pay less you get less. You get what you pay for you want outstanding service pay for it. You can always call in to change a package and not be put in to a contract. That's another *** lie. The only way you are put in a contract is if you order equipment or agree to a discount and they tell you when they do it they transfer you to another person who tells you about it and then they email you about your agreement. Stop being *** and listen and read. And as far as the CSR that take those calls they are people too don't call in yelling and cursing that is not a way to get help. Notice that their attitude matches yours. You be an *** and they will do the same no one will help your *** if you call in and tell them what they "Better" do. Very company has policies and guidelines to follow so everyone can't always get what they want but asking nicely and showing patience can sometimes change the rules for your benifit .

Directv in Anna, Illinois - Was told an untruth on how a credit would be recieved

In July I used my credit card to help my son & daughter-in-law get their satellite moved to a new residence. I was told by a guy named Jerry that once the first month bill was paid my credit card would be credited. Well, I find out today that it was credited to the first months bill for my son. I do not appreciate being lied to or mislead. And I was told it had to be done by a credit card, neither of them have a credit card. It's a TOTAL rip off !!!! I tried to talk to a supervisor, but no one would transfer me to one. Not a very good way to deal with customer service. an "I'M Sorry" sometimes just isn't enough. !!!!

DTV has your credit card # and if there is a late payment or early cancellation fee for this account your credit card will be charged. You may want to change the credit card# or close the account to prevent future charges from DTV.DTV does not give back money as a rule.

Direct TV is the Devil. Let's start this off by giving you a timeline. Note- I am in the Military and was being stationed outside the U.S….thus, Direct TV would not have service where I was moving to. I was to be exempt from any type of Early Termination Fee, just as...

We also cancelled our DTV service, due to a military PCS. Here we are, over 3 months past the date of cancellation and we are still battling to get the correct refund amount.

What DTV did what after we cancelled service, was they went and changed our promotional rates (taking away credits and causing a negative balance), because we did not meet the 2 year contact. Apparently DTV isn't aware of the Servicemember's Civil Relief Act!

We will be going to Navy Legal soon, for assistance...

The service was great with DTV, but this billing runaround we've been getting with DTV is just absolutely ridiculous!!! Never again will I go with DTV, unless I plan to transfer from home to home stateside...
